Mighty Leaf Tea

Liking this a lot iced today. I used 1 tsp tea in the little 4oz oolong pot from Samovar, and poured the first two steeps over ice to make about 12oz iced tea. It’s very sweet, tasting of jasmine, vanilla, and a little bit caramel to me. I know flavored oolongs are a bit overkill, but this one really works for me!

I use slightly cooled water for this, since there’s some green tea in the blend.

This one really hit its stride around steep 4 for me today. I used more leaf than usual (1tsp/4oz) and shorter steep times (1-3 minutes), trying to treat it like the green/oolong blend it is. I get the vanilla and jasmine flavors more than caramel, and nothing I recognize as vegetal, so I’ll try to compare this to Golden Moon’s Vanilla Jasmine in the near future.

I was going to make this a note-less log, but when steep 4 came out the best yet I felt compelled to comment!
ETA: For the curious, I ended up steeping this seven times, with 4 and 5 being my favorites, so I’m bumping the rating for endurance. Don’t give up if the first steep or two is harsh!

I love this blend; it actually contains green tea along with the oolong, so I never brew it near boiling. More cream and caramel than fruit, the scent and flavor are both rich. The aftertaste has jasmine, vanilla,… purple was a good word, actually. The aftertaste is very purple. Be sure not to brew, or drink, this one too hot – it loses a lot of the complexity.

Though I was initially skeptical (smelled a little like Robitussin), I actually like it a lot. The hibiscus flavor really does it for me. Echoing previous reviews, the aroma is much stronger than the taste.

Lovely fragrance, with a slight sweet hint of chocolate. When it’s steeping, you can smell the chocolate wafting from your mug. Smooth finish. I can see this being a regular fixture in my morning routine.

Delicate but also tasty and balanced. A nice smooth cup.

A very mild Chamomile tea with hints of orange and lemon. Surprisingly enjoyable. A regular cup of Chamomile has the tendency to make me a little nauseous sometimes (strange, I know!) but the addition of citrus does wonders to this tea. A good before-sleep tea.

A very easy, beautifully fragrant tea with notes of vanilla (flavor), mango (flavor), and hibiscus. The tea itself is colorful, with rose, marigold and hibiscus. It is somewhat deceptive though— the flavor is far less intense than the aroma but still enjoyable. Avoid overbrewing to avoid any bitterness. 4-5 minutes is ideal.

This was delicious! It basically was like drinking the “Creme” part of my favorite tea by Tease, Earl Grey Creme, which quickly becomes just Earl Grey if left in the cupboard too long. I wonder if some of the less positive reviews got older batches that had lost their vanilla, which seems to dissipate really quickly? Mine was perfect – more vanilla than black tea taste, but with enough for it to taste like tea. I also didn’t steep for very long, so maybe that allows the vanilla to shine.

My favorite Green Tea at the moment. Maybe it’s just the name and makes me want to go out and slay a dragon.

I don’t really care for this tea. I’m coming to the realization that I don’t enjoy vanilla in tea. I love vanilla in many other applications, but in tea, it’s not my thing.

I’ve only had a single tea bag, that was a trial, of this. it was quite good. I think I may order a sampler and give it another taste.

I’ve really enjoyed this tea. This is my 5th cup. It’s a subtle tea, as most whites are. The ginger is very faint and comes out with the finish. I wouldn’t say there is citrus, s the description suggests. Just white tea with a hint of ginger. I could even go for more ginger. If you tend to shy away from ginger infused teas, this may be a good starting point. I suspect this would be nice iced, as well.

My sister ordered me a set of 5 of Mighty Leaf’s blooming tea samples. This one has become my favorite of the 5 for two reason:
1. its the most colorful when it blooms, and
2. it has good blend of the green tea and jasmine

Flavor: woody, dry, floral – not sweet not bitter
Body: Medium
Aftertaste: sweet, but short lived
Liquor: transparent reddish orange

I can’t taste the hibiscus at all, and am disappointed. I enjoy hibiscus. I think it might do well next time with some sugar or honey. As far as other red teas I have had this is not among my favorites and I don’t plan to buy it again. It is well executed (packaging, quality, amount) but doesn’t have enough pizazz.

This is a really really tasty tea! I think I prefer Den’s Genmaicha Extra Green, but I really like this one too! (Which is good, ‘cuz I have a 4oz bag of it. :P) It’s warm and toasty, with a nice balance between the green tea and the toasted rice. Mmmm.

I wasn’t feeling too great this morning, so I didn’t actually finish drinking this – hot tea does not sit well in an upset tummy for me. The taste was amazing, though, and I bet with milk or cream, it’s like drinking dessert. I’ll have to try it again when I’ve got my appetite back.

I love rooibos and I really love this African Nectar. I think it’s the hibiscus, since that’s one of my favorite flavors. I can drink this daily at home, and I once saw this guy at a coffee shop really pissed because they had run out of this flavor. I guess he is an addict too.
