Matcha Outlet

Sipdown! A little too much matcha in this because I was trying to use up the last of my stash and I couldn’t measure it very well because it really did not want to be scooped out of the tin. I ended up holding the tin over the sifter and banging on it. Ah well. This was a nice little break from stress during the work day.

A bit more sugar than normal but it is deeeeelicious. I’m almost out too, darn.

Don’t know what I did special today, but mmm, this one is good.

Smooth and creamy and a little bit lemony, but with a bit of a bite to it today.

Backlog from yesterday. I drank this during a stupid meeting. I don’t remember much, but I think I enjoyed it. The meeting room was very hot.

Last matcha of the work day. Pushed it quite late to drink it. I’ll likely have to pee on the drive home. Unfortunate. Means I’ll have to go straight home and not on a walk and not to the post office and not to get gas for the car (which desperately needs to happen, but can be put off one more day). I’ve been making a lot of poor decisions lately.

Having a cup of this. Trying to wake up. Seriously, I keep falling asleep with my eyes open and start falling out of my chair. Really makes me wish caffeine worked on me.

I know I just had this yesterday, but it’s tasty! I only have 8 flavours of matcha at work to choose from, I have at least 3 matcha lattes each work day, I have to be in the mood for some of them (mint, champagne), I haven’t figured out how to make one of them well (soda), but I’m always in the mood for this one.

The electric whisk really does make it pretty frothy, though I should really start adding the sugar before I start frothing because the sugar doesn’t get into the froth otherwise and it’s therefore a somewhat more bitter froth than the rest of the latte. But for the most part, I’m enjoying this.

Tasty this morning. My electric whisk came today, but I forgot to bring it to work so I’m still using a fork today. I had some pretty big clumps in this one, due to no sifter and no whisk, but it turned out okay, except some bitter swallows. I think this may be the first of my matchas that will get drunk down. I seem to favour it as a first choice in the mornings.

Having an odd day so far. I’ve been at work for…4 hours now, but have accomplished no work, though I did spend some time reading through new company processes so I guess that that maybe counts as work. I didn’t get much sleep last night so my brain is a little fuzzy and unfortunately caffeine doesn’t affect me so although it tastes absolutely delicious, this matcha will not help.

I got my Verdant TOTM yesterday and thought I might try it all today but I’m just not feeling it. So I went with matcha instead. I even went downstairs to the cafeteria and bought 3 things of milk in anticipation of having 3 matcha lattes before lunch, the next opportunity to buy milk. I may not drink any ‘normal’ tea today at all. Just not feeling it, which is quite odd for me. I looked over my selection of teas I have available at work and even the ones I’ve never tried before just don’t interest me. I think I’m going to have to try the Verdant teas at home which means I’m going to have to dig through my unopened boxes of tea I have in the entryway and find the one that has the gaiwan I bought. I don’t remember which company I even bought it from. This happened when I tried to buy another electric match whisk too, I had to buy an entirely different model because I just couldn’t find the one I bought before. Hopefully they’re of comparable quality.

Anyway that was kind of babbling and not really talking about the matcha, which was delicious as always. Well always the two times I’ve had it. I was experimenting with adding mint matcha to my different matcha flavours yesterday but I think I’m going to spare this one that experience. I just don’t think this one will be improved by mint.

To recap: very tired. feeling stupid and off. matcha good.

Trying this matcha, my 7th run at flavoured matchas, right after having the French Vanilla matcha so I can definitely taste the difference. They really aren’t very similar at all.

Aside from the custard-y vanilla flavour that’s not quite the same as the french vanilla, there’s also the definite flavour of lemon! Quite strong for me too. This is the classic matcha grade with distinctive level flavouring made into a hot latte with a couple ounces of water, frothed with a fork (I’m at work) and finally with one of those little half pints of milk like you get when you’re little for $0.25 from the school cafeteria in elementary school. They’re probably a dollar now, but they were 25 cents in my day! Man I feel so old, I’m only 30! But I digress.

There is a slight hint of bitterness in this that I didn’t experience with the French Vanilla matcha, that one was a bit smoother, but this one is creamier and the bitterness is quickly overtaken by the flavour of matcha and vanilla/lemon. I think I like the distinctive flavour level on this one, I’m not sure I’d want the lemon flavour to get any stronger. But this is good. Not my favourite, but good. Another success! Now I just need to keep that streak going for the next…15 matchas that I have that I haven’t tried. I won’t be opening them all at the same time though, I only have so many tins and I’d be hard pressed to drink them all while they are still fresh if I had that many open at the same time. A pity, but I’m happy to drink the ones I’ve tried so far that I purchased.

The last of this!! So this is a sipdown, finally.

Soft and vaguely sweet. This is super old and I’m aaaaaalmost done with it.

Note to self: just because the flavour has gone down, does not mean add way more matcha. Then it gets gross. Bleh.

This has definitely lost most of it’s potency. Still tasty but it doesn’t wow me anymore. I don’t have a whole lot left so I’m trying to drink it up.

Made this well and it’s just about perfect to end the work day. I will have to pee on the drive home but other than that, today was pretty good. Got a lot done. Too bad the lead wasn’t even here today to appreciate it (he’s MIA, no one knows why he hasn’t been at work for the past couple of days). I’m off of work tomorrow for what is hopefully the end of my medically restricted hours so I can go back full time come Friday. Looking forward to it.

Haven’t had this in a long while. It’s obviously losing it’s potency. This was mild and smooth, made into a hot latte. I’m finding that, despite the weather, I like the cold lattes better but I don’t have mixing materials at my desk here. So, unless I get access to a blender or I remember to bring some premade from home, hot lattes it is.

Been a while since I had this, more than a couple of days since I had any matcha at all. This was good. I added a bit more sugar than usual because I was craving something sweet and while it wasn’t sweet sweet it was good.

Craving something sweet and this unfortunately did not rise up to the challenge. Was still enjoyable though.

I love this matcha so much I can’t even.

A little bit of this to end the work day, though it totally made me have to pee during the hour drive home from work. Unfortunate. I don’t know what the cat just did because now I have to hold down the function key to get the letters to type. Time to reboot. Oh and the matcha was good too.

So this is quite a bit cooler than I normally drink matcha because I had a meeting come up in the middle of making this that I had to go to, bleh. Nothing much talked about except I have super awesome job security right now because everyone including me is so freaking busy.
