This is from the here is hoping traveling teabox.
I drank this one on my way to work today. The dry leaves SMELL so sweet and nice, almost like a lighter marco polo.
The tea when brewed is not nearly as aromatic as the dry leaves. It still smells good but as I was expecting marco polo level of scent – this is very slight.
The flavor has notes of peach and mango. The green tea base is kinda lost with the flavors. I like this tea but I do not LOVE it.
When I first tried this tea, I was amazed. But the next few cups weren’t that good. I realized you’ve got to be careful with the amount of leaves you take and with the steep time (water temperature should be around 80°C) or else the flavour can be too intense and this will ruin the gentleness of the white tea.

A lovely light oolong. From a sniff of the dry tea you’d expect this light, faintly smokey, slightly raisiny smelling tea to develop into something good. What comes out in the glass is a pale golden yellow tea, with well integrated hints of straw, smoke, and grass beneath a bright nearly floral (but not really jasmine) scented top note, that is delivered in an overall buttery smooth liquor. I can’t understand why the previous reviewer denigrated it, however we disagree on jasmine scented teas and perhaps that’s why.
Preparation
A wonderful light jasmine tea, that is almost a green-white tea. In France this tea is available in two types; Grand Jasmin Mao Feng, and Grand Jasmin Mao Feng Bio. Although both of these teas are excellent, the Bio version is just a little bit better than the non-organic variety. When I get a bag of this tea in the house, I have a hard time not opening it every afternoon to brew a pot. Although ‘jasmine pearls’ are all the rage— I actually think this particular tea is better than most jasmine pearls I’ve had (even the $100/lb variety from TenRen in Chinatown).
Preparation
The tea that launched 10000 steepings. Seriously, this is the first tea I ever tasted by Les Palais des Thes, and once I bought a bag of this, I turned into an addict. The green tea underlying this is a sencha. Its pairing with small bourbon vanilla pods makes for a smooth intensely vanilla treat. Its also delicious iced. Don’t steep too hot, or else it’ll be bitter.
Preparation
Perhaps my least favorite of all the teas made by this company. The cherry scent of this tea is so dominant that the green tea underneath it, gets nearly entirely lost. I find it like the ‘cherry coke’ of green teas. TOO MUCH CHERRY. Then again, if you’re a huge fan of cherry coke, this tea might be for you.
Preparation
A floral, fruity, green tea that has a kind of inherent sweetness without sugar added. I favor brewing this and then serving it iced, for any time of the day. The flavor of peach and citrus, combined with a spoonful of lemon tree honey makes for a great summer thirst quencher.
Preparation
This earl grey has probably spoiled me for most of the others I have tasted thanks to its intense Calabrian bergamot. I will take a fresh bag of this and just open it once in a while to sniff it. Meanwhile, the tea itself, is probably among the most heavily bergamot earl greys I have tried (the only stronger one’s I had use a gross synthetic flavoring). It is a great waker-upper, and nice with milk, and honey.

Thank you NofarS for this swap.
The tea whilst raw has a sweet yet dark vanilla essence that resembles vanilla toffee sweets.
Once brewed the tea has a delicious sweet toffee/fudge smell that makes me want to devour it. I adore fudge, it remembers me of childhood holidays in Cornwall and visiting handmade fudge shops.
A drop of milk has been added. A few sips reveal a smooth, dark liquid treacle affair that is not chemical in taste. Added a zero calorie sugar. The sugar has made it much more toffee like with it’s added sweetness and the vanilla appears to be stronger. The black tea is in the background and I cannot say much about it especially… it’s not malty or floral…perhaps the best I can say is that it’s rich.
A nice blend that is tasty enough to cure my fudge cravings. Delicious!
Preparation
This tea was full of orchid aroma and sweet floral taste with a subtle vegetable note. There was no astringency and the aftertaste lingered long after each sip. One of the things I love about Dong Ding is that it is a marathon tea. I did five consecutive infusions and probably could have gone for more if bladder had been capable of holding that much tea.
Preparation
I’m enjoying this. I love the floral tones. The peach and mango, the fruit notes … taste slightly artificial, but, I like the way the floral notes work here that I am not going to hate on the fruit notes. The floral tones are delightful and delicate, not heavy and perfume-y.
It’s a very soft and calming tea.
Before adding the water the aroma strong and floral struck me with promise. After 4 min steep a light yellow-green color with same floral scent at first sip. This flavor lasted to the last sip. On a whim I tried a second steep and was not disappointed, the tea was understandably lighter in color but held the same floral taste. This only began to lessen by half-cup. A very pleasing Tea.

Sipdown!
I believe this was from the travelling tea box! It’s not a bad rooibos, but it’s not good per say either. There’s a vanilla taste to this that is present, but it’s not particularly strong. This comes across as more like lightly flavoured water than anything much else.
Preparation
I brewed up a pot of this to have with a friend over breakfast yesterday. I first had this tea when living in Strasbourg, France, and still had an unopened package that I brought back then. I love the wonderful cherry blossom flavor of this tea, and get cravings for it now and again. I agree with others that it is better slightly cooled, as the cherry blossom flavor comes out more. The real key, however, is to carefully observe that you’re making it at proper green tea temperature (i.e. not boiling) and the flavor should still be prominent to taste. Otherwise, the green tea becomes too bitter and overpowers the cherry blossom taste. This tea is so sweet all on its own that I rarely add sweetener.
Preparation
An exquisite rooibos offering, and now my go to evening cup of rooibos.
4-5 minutes, just shy of boiling brings out a robust amber color characteristic of rooibos, but with a plus – the mouth watering delicious scent of red fruits enveloping your palate.
Recommended for any rooibos drinker or for those who like a zap of pizzazz in their cup. Also I will note that Le Palais des Thes does a great job at packing the very freshest looking teas I’ve seen in some time!
Preparation
I bought this tea today since my Golden Monkey Tea has yet to arrive in the mail and I felt like I needed something new to taste. I went to Le Palais de The, looked around, bought some Milk Oolong (hoping that it will be worth the price – it’s waiting for my gaiwan to arrive), and this tea, based on a review in teaviews.
I do not like flavoured teas, so buying this tea was adventurous of me. The smell is overpowering – almost like a cough syrup sweetness. I choked on it. But I decided to buy and brew. The instructions suggest brewing for 4-5 minutes, but I was worried that the tea would be too strong to my liking, and so opted to go by sight and steep for less time (2.5 min). The tea is a bright red with a yellow halo, and the smell, though not very far from my original impression, has toned down somewhat to a very rich toffee smell.
The tea is creamy, with no astringency, and tastes very much like a rich toffee with a slight vanilla and toffee aftertaste. At two and a half minutes brewing time the toffee flavour is gentle – more of a hint than a definitive, overpowering flavour. I liked it enough to try brewing it for 4 minutes next time. The tea is sweet enough to not warrant adding sugar. Not an everyday treat for me, but definitely worth a re-brew, to make my final opinion on it. Not sure that I like it – has a definite powerful chemical taste to it that I’m not sure that I like
