Thanks to Dinosara for this generous sample!

I don’t know if my taste buds are just a dud today but this one isn’t quite clicking with me either. It smells lovely…delicate and fruity. I’m just not tasting much of anything really. It tastes…a little plant like but that’s it…no fruity flavor:(. I keep resteeping it (in the original cup) to see if I can coax out more flavor from it (1 tsp) but I’m not getting much of anything. I really wanted to like it (the name made it seem like it would be fantastic) but it’s just not there. Maybe next time:-S

Now that I keep resteeping it (in the same cup) I’m getting some of that raspberry flavoring to come through…it just tastes really artificial though * sigh *.

Thanks to Dinosara for this generous sample!
I steeped a heaping teaspoon and all I could taste is black tea with some kind of flavoring behind it. I don’t know if it was vanilla-y or nutty…but it wasn’t very good. Taste was ok but the smell was just like playdoh. I don’t know if the tea was just old or from a bad batch but it just wasn’t what I was expecting since it got some many awesome reviews. Oh well…better luck next time!

This tea smells amazing!

Though, has an interesting mix of ingredients. It’s a fruit only herbal containing lots of various fruity bits, but also with cardamon, cinnamon and egg sugar drops.

Hot without sweetener, this tea is INSANELY TART! I thought my face was going to suck into itself. Sweetened, the tartness is improved, but pretty tart still.

Iced is where this tea is at (with LOTS of sugar) – Loads of strawberry flavor, hint of spice adding interest. A little creamyness. Not flat tasting at all and quite tasty.

Not a bad tea, but it needs lots of sugar. I don’t mind a bit of tart, but this is pretty crazy super tart! I’d buy this again, but I’m a little worried I’ll just be adding too much sugar.

I’m not really jumping for joy with this blend. The mango is very mild. The black tea is astringent. It’s just kinda … eh. There are much better teas out there.

Another tea from the Traveling Tea Box! Of course I had to try this one, it’s an Earl Grey Cream and I am on a quest to catch ’em all. Or, well, try ’em all.

This one sounded interesting since there is coconut oil added, I think the idea of a tropical EGC is really interesting. Sadly, that’s not at all what this is: there’s no coconut at all! I wonder if there’s just not enough of it or if the flavor has waned since it was first bagged up. I agree with Tea Sipper’s note that the packaging seems less than ideal, just light paper to keep it from the elements!

I have tried so many EGCs, and many of them are quite spectacular. But I guess a lot of the middle of the road ones blend together, and this is one of them. The bergamot and vanilla aren’t as well balanced as I would like. It’s a bit creamy but nothing in it really screams “I’m an ear grey cream!” Don’t get me wrong it’s a nice blend, but I think at this point I am so spoiled by the better EGC blends I’ve tried. However, this does make me really want to mix a coconut tea and EGC together and see what happens!

Lynxiebrat

Actually I think just Earl Grey and Coconut would taste great. Maybe with a little bit of lime for a twist?

Tea #18 from the ‘Here’s Hoping’ teabox.

This is a nice EG cream. Lots of bergamot flavor, and the vanilla gives the tea a smooth, creamy quality. The base tea is a little weak for my taste. I sipped this while folding laundry, and when I reached the bottom of my cup I thought that it was a nice cup and I would resteep the leaves later. So, nothing that made me stop and really take notice, but a nice cup nonetheless. If only I could find the bottom of my laundry basket as quickly as I find the bottom of my tea cup!

Tea #13 from the ’Here’s Hoping’ teabox.

I really like vanilla tea. There is something so calming and relaxing about it. As far as vanilla teas go this is a good one. I’m glad it found its way it into my cup.

There are actual chunks of vanilla bean blended in with the tea. How awesome is that? I actually did a double take when putting the tea into my basket because I had never seen that with a vanilla tea before. The tea brewed into a very dark color which made me regret my four minute steep. I wish I would have gone with three. The tea is somewhat astringent, but the vanilla taste is lovely. I wish more companies added vanilla to their tea the way this one does. Even with my over steeping this is very good.

Georgia Tea Company is quickly becoming a new fav of mine!

Veronica

This is the first tea I’ve tried from them (I think), but it was a good one.

This is delightful! I do not regret my purchase from Georgia Tea Company one bit! 2 out of 3 teas tasted this far both true winners!
I do think I love the Almond Cookies more but this gets an A in my book too!
Just noting this for now – a better review will follow later! :)

Okay – Steepsters … I LOVE almond cookies. I always buy any almond cookie tea I can get my hands on. Usually they are in the form of a tisane, which is okay and all but come on I WANT TEA … well – this is IT!
This is THE tea!
I think I could safely say if I could have only ONE tea (which honestly would be a nightmare) but still … this would be it!
First its SENCHA and a good sencha at that. I can taste the tea in this blend!
Its buttery which offers the best backdrop for this flavor!
OMG THANK YOU Georgia Tea Company!

Holy Almond Cookie! Almond Cookies from Georgia Tea Company has really made me fall in love! Georgia Tea Company – be put on notice, I will be making an order with you again soon!

I can taste the almond, obviously, the green tea gives a wonderful flavor and a healthy base, and yet I swear I can taste the crispy crumbly cookie in here too! You know how good almond cookies have that buttery, crispy, crumbly texture? That is this tea! And if I had to describe this tea any other way I would go with vanilla cake batter.

Rob Rauschenberg

This sounds really good. I recently added this one to my shopping list, it looks like it has almonds in it too. http://steepster.com/teas/not-just-tea/35476-butter-cookie

Azzrian

I would eat all the almonds out of it :)

Rob Rauschenberg

haha. There are times when I just want to eat things out of the tea jar but I restrain myself. Especially little white chocolate pieces. ha.

Azzrian

LOL I eat them :)

This tea was very good! Thanks to Dinosara for the sample! This tea tastes almost exactly like the Green Almond Cookie tea that I have. The only noticeable difference is that the green almond cookie is a green tea and this is a black. It tastes very almondy and warm! I really like it. This is a very sweet tea and is a perfect afternoon tea. I generally bring a t-sak of this to lunch no Tuesdays and Thursdays when I have class all day. I then steep it while I eat my hurried lunch at take the tea to my Asian History class. This tea definitely makes that class more enjoyable, even though I already love it!

drank Snowflake by Georgia Tea Company
3141 tasting notes

Well, this one seemed appropriate to try.. with about three feet of snow in NY in as many days. Ick. Thanks for sending the sample a while back, Momo! This one smells so sweet and tastes so sweet. A lovely mix of almonds, coconut and vanilla. The black tea base is so light, it just makes the other flavors sweeter. I think its a bit odd that the almonds and coconut are the same color. Less white than almonds and coconut usually are in other teas, which seems odd for something called ‘Snowflake’. Well, maybe it’s dirty snow. ha ha. I think the flavor is more almond than coconut. I think I’ve had a similar tea to this once, just can’t remember what it was. I like it! Definitely dessert like! I imagine an almond sugar cookie in the shape of a snowflake with white frosting and white sparkling sprinkles. Is it spring yet? At least winter is good for tea drinking… like I need an excuse. Sipdown!

Alphakitty

We’ve had no snow in Queens! It is supposed to tomorrow, hopefully.

This is one of the rooibos blends that I actually quite like. I am not sure what it is. It must be the black currents, gives it a kind of spicey flavour. I cold brewed this one overnight. I like this one equally hot or cold. When it is cold it reminds me of coca cola. I am not sure why, it does not taste like coke at all, but there is something in the taste that makes me crave a coke. Haha.

I am not a big rooibos fan. However, this is one of my favorite teas. I love the taste of the currents and berries. I drink this hot or iced and it is a staple in my tea cupboard.
I have found this brand to be the best. I have tried a few other brands they are just not up to par (however, that may be because I am so in love with the Georgia Tea Company version).

thanks again, Dinosara, for a great trade! I think I drink Earl Grey Cremes on a twice a month schedule or something, so this is a welcome addition to my Earl Grey Creme collection! But I saw the way the packaging was: it looks like a paper bag! And it doesn’t have a zip! I just feel like teas are going to age faster in this sort of package. But the taste is pretty good. I steeped for three or four minutues. I don’t think the flavor is as strong as it should be. But there is that lovely flavor I’ve gotten to love in the earl grey creme. (Oh who am I kidding with the “gotten to”? I loved it the first sip I tried.) It was interesting when I saw a big vanilla chunk fall into the infuser! The black tea seems to have a stronger flavor that might be overshadowing the bergamot and creme. I agree with Dinosara: no coconut here!I like this, but it isn’t my favorite Earl Grey Creme. But Earl Grey Creme is one of my favorite discoveries this year!

Thank you so much Dinosara for the trade! For some reason I can’t find the steep temps for any of the Georgia Tea Company teas. Not even on their site! Pouring this in the infuser, there are two big ole vanilla chunks! That is rare in a tea… usually it is just “flavoring”. The black tea base is a perfect pair with the vanilla. The silky smooth vanilla with a stronger brisker black tea… the black tea has a full flavor that reminds me why black teas are my favorite, and a bit of astringency to it. The vanilla really lingers. It’s kind of like the ESP Emporium Vanilla Black but I don’t think it has vanilla chunks THIS big.. however I just looked at the pictures and it does have bigger vanilla pieces. I’ll have to try that one again soon to compare. I think I’ve only sipped that one twice in the year that I’ve bought the tea! Yikes. That is why I don’t like having more than two ounces of one tea (except for maybe Earl Grey Creme!) I love this one though!

drank Genmaicha by Georgia Tea Company
3141 tasting notes

thank you yet again, momo! I love genmaichas so this was a nice surprise! I’m the first to review this one? I thought the sencha itself was interesting here, as the leaves are darker, skinnier, and less uniforrm in shape. And of course you’ve got the rice that genmaicha is known for, and a few pieces of the rice have popped to look like popcorn. The steep color after two minutes is a light yellow. The flavor is buttery with a bit of that roasty toasty flavor. The flavor is pretty light. With the second steep, I forgot to take the infuser out… so it went for twelve minutes. But the flavor didn’t get bitter! It was just a little bit more roasty toasty. I like this one, but I feel like the flavor is too light for me, even if it is oversteeped. I love tons of flavor!

Thanks for another one to try, momo! I appreciate it! This one is fun! I spotted a whole piece of popcorn in the blend, so of course that had to go in the infuser. I’m thinking I need some other kind of infusers because the two I have barely hold one teaspoon of tea with no room for expansion… I know teas like this one require a bit more than one teaspoon, especially if a whole popcorn piece is taking up much of that space!

The steep color is pinkish orange. I kept sipping during the long infusion to figure out the steep time and the flavor kept getting better and better! Without looking at the ingredients list, I could have swore this had almonds in it… since it reminds me of the lovely Joy’s Teaspoon Almond Cookie. It must be the beetroot pieces and apple then? I’ll have to look. This actually does taste like caramel corn. I don’t know what might be giving it a caramel flavor, but it is pretty sweet! Could be the fruit pieces too. And again, no hibiscus! Another example of a hibiscusless deliciousness blend. I have no idea why it might be called carnival.. other than it is a fun mix of ingredients! I like this one.. lots. Snow is in the forecast. bleh. already? This year went by so fast…wasn’t it just snowing? I wish I were at a carnival!

Kittenna

Finum infuser baskets!! I’m guessing you use teaballs? I learned that although they work for some teas, the infuser baskets are waaaaaay nicer!

Bonnie

Agree, no teaball, infinum basket!

tea-sipper

I use The Republic of Tea’s Little Dipper Infuser and another like it. But I just googled those baskets and I should definitely get one of those!

Thank you to TeaEqualsBliss for sending me some of this tea to try.

I can’t say that I’m as excited by this tea as she was, but it is good. I guess I’ve just become spoiled with teas like the Chocolate “O” from The Tea Spot and Double Chocolate Decadence from 52Teas … and I think that the black tea base provides a much better base for chocolate-y flavors than does rooibos. This tastes too much like rooibos to satisfy the chocoholic in me.

That’s not to say it’s not good, it is… I just want more chocolate.

It smelled very rich and chocolate-y when I opened the pouch, and it does taste chocolate-y too, but I also taste the rooibos and I guess that’s sort of what’s making me less than excited about it. It’s good … not great, but good.

LiberTEAS

I will say this, as I continue to sip … the chocolate-y notes become stronger, and I taste less rooibos. So, things are looking up!

Nik

I might have to try this one. Even if the black tea works as a better base for a chocolate tea, my inability to tolerate caffeine means this blend will work much better for me. (Plus rooibos is my favourite.)

LiberTEAS

Yeah I think my main hold up on this tisane is that I’m not really fond of rooibos. It’s OK, and I like that it’s naturally caffeine free, but, I just would rather have tea than rooibos. :)

Not changing the rating on this one for today because I cant determine if it was my steeping or tastebuds or the tea. But it did not come out well and I drank less then 1/2 of my travel tumbler. Bla.

Nik

Aww… =(

It’s always disappointing when a cup of tea is underwhelming, especially when it has such a fun name

Daniel Mann - Georgia Tea Co.

I agree completely. We won’t be carrying it next winter, it lacked that pazazz we were looking for, although the Carnival and Gingerbread House were very well liked. Sometimes the teas just don’t come together as planned. Thanks for the reviews, Ellyn! We love you guys and gals!

Made a travel mug of this to drink on the way to work. Am still enjoying it. See my previous tasting note for more info…although this time I am getting more of a Pumpkin Vanilla flavor…mmm so good! Pushing the rating higher…

I purchased this tea from virtuous teas a local tea shop, however, it is the identical tea. I do not want to make a separate listing for the same tea as the shops must source it from the same place.

I LOVE the sprinkles and candy pumpkins. They are so festive!

It is a pumpkin spice tea with some other notes of flavors. The other flavors listed are: hibiscus, rosehip, rooibos, cinnamon, apple and orange and I can taste how these flavors make it different from other pumpkin spice teas I have tasted. YUM! What a festive way to start Friday.

Thank you Dhart1214 for this tea sample!

The only Mate I’ve had thus far has been unflavored. When I saw the bag of Chocolate Mate in the samples from Dhart I was intrigued. It sounded like a good combination. Earthy Mate and Chocolate would be a natural.

I steeped the mix for 5 minutes and the resulting brew smelled more like prune or raisin and carob.
My first taste was interesting in the odd meaning of interesting.
If I was a hard liquor drinker, I could pick out a whiskey that this tasted like I’m sure of it.
I just stopped and went to the Georgia Tea Company Website to read the ingredients because of the odd taste (non-listed on the package).

UH OH…ROOIBOS!…I’M ALLERGIC TO ROOIBOS! (Good thing I only drank 1/3 of the cup so far! And the rest of the package will go elsewhere! I know Dhart had no idea!)

Anyway, the ingredients are: mate roasted, rooibos, cocoa bits, barley malt, coconut rasps, cinnamon, cloves, flavoring, cornflower blossoms.

Even with cream and sweetening this didn’t taste like chocolate. When you look at the ingredients is there any wonder?! It could have been good!

A heads up to all tea companies. If you call a tea ‘Chocolate’ and nothing else, it had better taste like ‘Chocolate’. Also, PUT THE INGREDIENTS ON THE LABEL! People like me have allergies!

So I didn’t write a story this morning with this tea, I soap boxed.

Happy weekend to all!

Hesper June

I hope you will be okay!?!

Bonnie

Thank you Hesper June
I didn’t drink too much. About 1/4 cup is all and it was an ingredient not all rooibos.

Dhart1214

I am SO sorry!

Bonnie

Don’t be sorry, you had NO idea since they didn’t put it on the label. That’s the trouble with tea companies. They should label the tea…I’m glad I looked it up or I would have been sick…which DIDN’T happen Dhart…it’s fine!

Helena

All teas should come listed with the ingredients :D there are sooo many people with allergies that it would just make sense. I’m glad your okay :D
