Holy Figs, Batman! This is so figgy today. What did I do? I don’t think I did anything different, but its so rich, so decadent, that I feel I must have figured out something secret about this tea. It honestly tastes like figs in a cup, rich, earthy, and warm.
A pleasant start to the day.
Tea of the morning.
Sheesh I was tired last night, and though I slept like the proverbial log, I still woke up exsausted. So much so, that I understeeped this!
Well, it didn’t actually harm the flavors, so I picked my tea well this frosty morning! Its a really lovely fig flavor, rich and warm and gooey. I do love figs, so this has been a happy tea purchase.
I wish I had some now, in fact.
Flavors: Fig
Christmas teas the whole way this week. I will be a gutton for the holiday flavors.
Of course, I’ve been doing that pretty much all winter, but hey.
You can totally taste the fig in this. Its rich, earthy, and blends very well with the black base. A great, savory holiday tea!
So, time for tea first thing this morning, and boyfriend says he’d take a cup. So I open up packages of tea and shove them under his nose, until he picks one. He’s actually remarkably good humored about my tea obsession, and honestly enjoys it as well.
We settled on this. Its so smooth! The earthy fig flavor and the rich black tea blend very well, so there is a delightfully soft fig taste woven seamlessly through the tea. Much enjoyed this morning.
Lame. I hadn’t even opened this one. This like, 2-year old tea sample. Haha. Anyhow, someone’s post on the rooibos version (which I believe I acquired from a swap with Janelle last year, but didn’t really put the effort into finding) made me want to try this, so I dug it out. It’s a fairly decent minty/vanilla/black. Wouldn’t be a favourite, but nice enough to drink, especially this time of year. I particularly tasted the chocolate yesterday, but DTT’s chocolate flavouring seems to be inconsistent even between different infusions of the same tea, so… maybe that will be the case next time, maybe not. Either way, yums.
Preparation
Sipdown! 965.
This is a very perfumey tea – smells rather like rose despite that not being an ingredient. Thankfully, the flavour is grounded enough that it doesn’t feel like I’m drinking perfume, just a very floral/fruity tea. I can’t identify specific fruit flavours, but it’s on the tropical side, though a more… perfumed fruit tropical than ‘A Rabbit’s Garden’. Overall, not bad, but again with the (half) green base – not overly fond. Also, a bit too perfumey.
Preparation
Sipdown! 966.
Not too bad, but there’s an artificial sort of aftertaste that I’m finding unpleasant. It’s a nice choice for a base tea – a nutty dark oolong, and the peach flavour is surprisingly good, so otherwise, it’s quite decent. Just…. that aftertaste… :( Still rating reasonably highly though, because I’m enjoying it as long as I don’t let it linger too long (of course, some of my favourite teas are the ones where new and delicious flavours bloom in the aftertaste, so that’s unusual for me. Sigh.)
Preparation
Such an odd tea, but it’s actually pretty decent. More or less a tropical-fruity green; mild green base and the primary flavours are perhaps peach/mango/pineapple, or in that realm. I’m not sure if the dehydrated veggies add much, but there is kind of a vegetal thickness to the tea, which is perhaps the result. Overall, definitely happy to have tried this, though flavoured greens are pretty much my least favourite tea category.
Preparation
Yeah… Most flavored greens are pretty low on the totem pole for me too. The only real exception is citrus. :)
Cameron – I’d have to agree, since my 52teas’ Sun & Cloud Mist is one of my fave flavoured teas. I think my biggest problem, though, might be the crap/boring sencha bases that are used. Or the boring flavour combos.
Anlina – No, I wouldn’t say it’s anything overly special. Certainly drinkable, even tasty, and moderately entertaining with some of the ingredients, but the flavour is familiar.
Been drinking this again this weekend. I definitely prefer the black version of this tea better. And I feel that the black tea version of this is much stronger and re-steeps better.
This one, if you oversteep it is like sugar and wood. And if you understeep it it’s a very light sugary taste. So you have to get it just right.
Then it will be a fantastic tea!
Yesterday I oversteeped it on accident.
Today I understeeped it. Twice. xD
So maybe tomorrow I’ll get it just right!
Sure hope so!
But yeah, probably won’t buy more of this after my 2oz is gone. Really do like that brown sugar taste though, but the black tea version is much better!
Flavors: Brown Sugar, Sweet, Wood
Mmmm! This one is super sweet and strong, Just like Pineapple Upside Down Cake. I think that the black tea version is a lot stronger and sweeter, but this one is quite similar. This will be perfect for when I don’t wanna be super awake from Black Tea.
I never realized that this was basically the same as the other till I looked it up on here. Glad I picked some up on their BF sale! :D :D
Flavors: Brown Sugar, Sugar, Sweet, Wood
Really loving the caffeine-free option tonight. I really wanted to have the feel of candy and this is working. The mint is good, it could have used a bit more chocolate flavor IMHO. A nice tea, relaxing and smooth.
Flavors: Chocolate, Peppermint
Another sipdown. I’m so proud of myself for completing so many teas this year so far. Anyhoo, this is another tasty dessert brew that smells very cocoa-marshmallow and is a pleasure to sip with a dash of milk. I’ve had a bit of a sweet tooth lately, but I think I purchased this tea last year and I’ll probably purchase it again this year. It really hits the spot when I am having a S’mores craving. This probably happens more often than I’d like because it is one of my favorite treats on earth. YUM!
Backlog as I couldn’t get the page to load when I had it yesterday. This is really tasty s’mores tea and is currently my favorite one of this type of nommy dessert! I will review more thoroughly when I have it again, but it was straight up smooth and malty black tea with notes of cocoa, gooey marshmallow, sugar, and graham. What’s not to like? I’m glad I bought 2oz.. kinda wishing I got more of this and Choco Pumpkin Pie so far because I could easily kill it. Della Terra has dessert teas down pretty darn good! :)
Flavors: Cocoa, Graham, Malt, Marshmallow, Sugar, Sweet

Thanks to the cookielady for sending me a sample of this tea! As others have said it def has a chocolate and peanut butter smell to it, but personally I could only really taste the chocolate as opposed to just smelling. I also noticed on the top of the cup oil dropplets that I think are responsible for alot of the peanut aroma? Overall I enjoyed this tea, but only recommend it to people if they are looking for chocolate with a hint of peanut butter and not the other way around.
Preparation
This is really nice. Sweet, marshmallow, caramel type of nice. I’m not getting much of the base but it seems like a great tea for when you just want something sweet. It smells great, in fact I started to review it before I ever had a drink, forgetting that I hadn’t had a drink yet!
The aftertaste is pure marshmallow, which I’m really enjoying. I don’t feel great today and this tea is giving me a little hug.
This Earl Grey Creme is heavy on the sweet cream and vanilla, and light on the bergamot. Delicious and easy drinking. The actual dairy in this blend is apparent. It adds to the thick, smooth mouth feel. Different from other Earl Grey Cremes I’ve had, and quite good.
Flavors: Bergamot, Cream, Smooth, Sweet, Vanilla

Sipdown- I know it’s out of season, but I really like it. Sometimes I like it more than David’s Pumpkin Chai and that is saying something as one of the only pumpkin teas that I really dig. I like this one with a dash of milk to bring out the creamy chocolate and soft spices. I really appreciate that this one isn’t overwhelmingly spice- I feel like some autumn teas are basically a mouthful of cloves and cinnamon. So, planning to reorder this again for a 3rd season in a row. Maybe I should order more than a couple of ounces this time to tide me over? Happy Saturday all!
What a nice treat! I had wanted to try this for a while after hearing some people liked it better than the “standard” pumpkin pie teas. I am somewhat obsessed with David’s Pumpkin Chai as many of you know, but was still curious about what I was missing. The dry leaf is very attractive with shorter dark tea leaves, orange pumpkin candies, chunks of what appears to be dried squash/pumpkin, and even whole cloves.
The steeped tea is a dark brown clear liquor and I didn’t notice an oil slick inside my cup, but the candies and other goodies do melt a bit into the infuser. The smell is heavenly! My whole kitchen smells like a fresh-baked pumpkin pie with hot chocolate to serve with it.
The taste of this tea is quite a pleasant surprise. Not too sweet, not too mild- it carries with it the actual taste of smooth black tea along with the pumpkin pie spices and a hint of chocolate at the end of the sip. The chocolate is more fragrant than in your face for the taste- it is there, but far from overwhelming the pumpkin pie.
The verdict? Truly, I am still mad about Pumpkin Chai, but this is my favorite closest second so far to any of the seasonal pumpkin-y teas I’ve tried over the years. I really like it and am glad I have more to play with. Next time I might make a milk or eggnog latte and see how it comes out. :)
Flavors: Cocoa, Malt, Natural Pumpkin Spice Flavor, Smooth, Sweet

Thanks again for the sale, Momo! I could always use peppermint teas for my headaches. I like this one, but I feel like the flavor seems watered down. Mild mint, mild chocolate, mild black tea. Always a nice combination but it’s just not STRONG enough for me… maybe if I used two teaspoons? It’s minty for my headache though, so it helps! It seems like winter has arrived way too early… so many gray days already and it’s only the beginning of December. sigh.
Steep #1 // 1 tsp // couple minutes after boiling // few min steep
Steep #2 // just boiled // few min steep
Yay! My Della Terra BF order arrived yesterday afternoon and since I’ve been trying to get my hands on the Oatmeal Raisin Cookie FOREVER, this is the first tea I greedily sipped into… Scent wise it lives up to its name, cinnamon, raisin and a hint of oatmeal, however upon sipping all I taste is an overwhelming cinnamon and apple flavour… in fact, it tastes more like apple pie than oatmeal raisin cookies and although I like apple pie, I already have too many of these types of tea… sigh… not a bad tea, just not what I was hoping for
Just received a bag of this from Della Terra, chosen mostly because it was on sale and it sounded interesting. The peppermint is not as strong as I feared, and it’s actually a bit weak for my taste, possibly due to the mellowing effect of the vanilla. Pleasant and not overpowering, with the good black tea base I’ve come to expect from this tea blender.
Okay. So this tea tastes very strongly of Almond, and a bit of coconut. It’s mainly almond and green tea that I taste in this one. Sad that the almond wasn’t strong enough to hide it.
If you like green tea, you probably would love this tea. But as someone who really doesn’t like green tea, it’s not so good. :S
So this one will have to be rehomed. D: Least I got it at a great discount!
Flavors: Almond, Coconut, Grass, Sweet

Yum!
