Birthday Cupcake on my birthday! It just seemed fitting. :)
Drinking my second-to-last tablespoon of this and enjoying every second of it. Such a delicious vanilla frosting, creamy cake-like delight!
Della Terra really delivered with this one.
Flavors: Cake, Creamy, Frosting, Vanilla
Old sample from Tea Sipper. Thank You!
It is very rare that I actually like a peach flavored tea. I love peaches and peach schnapps, but I tend to think peach teas just don’t do the flavor justice. Many of them are way too sweet, I tend not to like how the flavor combines with black or green tea, many of the herbal varieties are too sweet or have a strange aftertaste, or both. But I really like this. The peach flavor is light, but definitely present and the oolong is less prominent, but really rounds out the peach flavor well and adds a bit of a floral note. This is a keeper!
Flavors: Floral, Peach
Preparation
Have you found any really good peach herbals? Since I liked the floral note here, I wonder how it would taste with rose petals…
Just Peachy from DAVIDs TEA was the best peach tea I’ve had, but it is sweet. Mind you, so are peaches ;). There was also that peaches and cream tea they had a while back that was decent too.
I was asking about Ost’s DT Peppermint Bark which is why I imagine she sent some of this one. I wanted to try this one too, so thanks so much Ost. :D This one is such a cute blend with plenty of candy cane sprinkles, silver sprinkles, hints of popcorn and ample mint. So it’s like a vanilla mint tea…. and I love those. Plenty of flavor, mint, vanilla, deliciousness. So good! Scrumptious not just for Christmas, but I might save my last couple of teaspoons for around that time of year. :D
Flavors: Peppermint, Vanilla
I’m so glad to have a chance to try out all these Della Terra teas. :) Thanks again to Ost for the samples! This one is fun-looking because of the sprinkles and marshmallows. I definitely get some marshmallow flavour in my cup, though the caramel is pretty subtle (I don’t think there were any caramel pieces in this scoop of tea, which may explain it). Mostly I’m just tasting the black tea base, which is actually quite nice – fairly rich and malty, so maybe it’s an assam, but minimal astringency even with a longer second steep.
This is the other one I had yesterday, and I didn’t find it to be as… flavourful? as the birthday cupcake. Maybe this tea is a bit older than the other one? Anyway, it’s not bad, you can still get some sweet cake notes and a bit of fruitiness, but I would have never identified it as pineapple upside down cake specifically. Pretty good though, especially with a bit of milk and sugar added.
Unfortunately for me, Della Terra is (apparently) no longer in business as this is one of my favorite teas. It offers just a slight sweetness blended with black tea. The scent is delightful and gives you that just-in-from-the-campfire-with-an-ooey-gooey-smore feeling.
Preparation
I was lucky enough to score a 4-ounce bag in a Facebook group. It’d been mentioned by someone in the group before and sounded so intriguing that I had to try to track it down. Flavored black teas are my jam and I love marshmallows so I knew that this would almost certainly be a hit. It is. I’m sitting a cuppa this morning.
The marshmallow flavor is lovely and only improves as the tea cools. I added a drop of stevia because I didn’t find that it was as sweet as I was expecting given all the add-ins (gold sugar pearls, sprinkles, mini marshmallows). The caramel flavor is faint but adds a bit of depth to a tea that would otherwise be straight marshmallow (not that I would’ve minded that in the slightest!). The tea did have a bit of an oil slick on top but I used a filter, as suggested by other folks on Steepster, so it wasn’t too bad.
The only negative thing I’d say is that I wish the black tea base was a bit stronger.
This is another new-to-me tea that I’ve tried in the past few weeks that I’ll now have to ration. I haven’t tried many marshmallow teas, but this is, without a doubt, the best I’ve tried thus far. If anyone has suggestions on other, more readily available, marshmallow teas, please let me know.
Flavors: Burnt Sugar, Caramel, Marshmallow
Sipdown. This was a pleasant, mildly sweet tea. I enjoyed it, but I’m not particularly going to miss it. There are so many other ‘slightly vanilla’ teas on the market.
(Unlike Blueberry Crumble. Every time I drink this I sob a little and wish Della Terra hadn’t gone out of business.)
Aww, I never tried Blueberry Crumble but it seemed quite popular. Stupid me kept passing it up every time I made an order.
Yeah, I normally don’t go for blueberry flavors either (because they usually come loaded with hibiscus? but this one is stellar. Pure blueberry muffin flavor, no hibiscus in sight.
I totally agree on the blueberry + hibiscus combination has been so overdone. Somehow I thought the blueberry would be boring with the green base. My problem was I kept imagining the boring blueberry white teas I’ve had in the past and assumed Blueberry Crumble wouldn’t be that much different.
Ooo, I’ve had those blueberry whites, I know what you mean! So pale and weak :( I think Blueberry Crumble has black tea in the base as well as green? Normally I avoid that combination, but in this case I can barely taste it. There’s a lot of maple flavor backing up the blueberry. Alas, I only have a few teaspoons left and then it will just be a wistful memory.
High marks for presentation — all the bright sprinkles and things in this tea would make it a fun choice for a tea party. I really don’t taste any caramel in this, but I think I’m getting a hint of the marshmallows. It really just tastes like a mellow, slightly sweet black tea, but it is a pleasant cup.
Preparation
I got a lovely package of samples from Ost, and while opening it I nicked this bag with my scissors, so that made it really obvious which one I should try first. :) Actually, it worked out great because I’m in the mood for something caffeine-free since I’m about to crash out super hard.
Anyway, this is a delicious dessert tea – lemony, creamy, and yes, cakey. Sweet and comforting, definitely hits the spot tonight. So happy I’m getting a chance to try some Della Terra teas. :)
Smells amazing. Tastes like blueberry cake and maple syrup, which is a far better combination than I would imagine. I’m kind of happy and sad to discover this awesome tea, because it looks like Della Terra Teas went out of business? Their site won’t come up and their latest tweets are from 2 years ago. Does anyone know what happened to them?
Preparation
They’ve gone out of business. Their Facebook page was active a bit a few months back, but now that’s disappeared as well.
Yeah, great base and great flavoring too. I wish I’d discovered them sooner, but I’ve only been drinking loose leaf for about two years.
This certainly smells like black tea, but there is a cake-y element that is also vying for your attention. This tastes like I need sprinkles! No sweetener needed. What’s up with me today enjoying black tea even with no sweetener?! I could see this being a part of a future order.
Preparation
Another old one. This one wasn’t even sealed but it’s kept it’s scent. And I’m getting some flavor! Some creaminess and a bit of tart berry! I’m impressed but I’ll probably toss the rest of this since I have much newer and tastier tea to spend my time on
Wow, I have some old teas that I probably shouldn’t be holding on to. How long do they stay good? It might be time to start cleaning out the cupboard!
Either way, I still gave this one a try. I didn’t get a whole lot of flavor (probably because of the age!) so I splashed in some milk and finished it off
How old was this? I was amazed by how much flavour my Della Terra Shamrocks had and it was like 2.5 years old when I finished it off the other week.
2.5-3 years probably sounds right. I actually have at least one unopened Della Terra tea so I’m curious to see how that will be!
From the Here’s Hoping TTB…
Sounds good and it is good. I’m not saying it tastes natural but who would think Strawberry Sundae would have a ‘natural’ flavor. The flavor is reminiscent of the sundaes I had as a child. I wish I had more but I am enjoying what I have of it. The fall weather has changed again and it feels like end of summer instead of mid-Oct. Lovely! Perfect for sitting out on the deck and drinking tea. :)
Flavors: Chocolate, Strawberry

This tea is not exactly what I was hoping for from it’s name. It is primarily a black tea with cinnamon. I taste nothing of the plum. The cinnamon does settle down after a bit but I still don’t sense any plum. But… cinnamon is supposed to be good for you, right? Not a bad tea and I’m glad I got to sample it but I won’t be buying it.
Flavors: Cinnamon
First time trying this blend. I attempted to drink it straight but it’s a bit too spicy for my palate. I added a heavy splash of almond milk and some brown sugar in an attempt to tone down the spice. That said, there is still quite a bit of spice, even when combined with (non-dairy) milk. The sample I received is large enough to try this tea as a latte, so I will probably go that route the next time I have a hankering for black tea in the morning. Unfortunately, the amount of spice overwhelmed my palate this morning so I didn’t taste a ton of either the chocolate or the pumpkin. I’ll see what happens when I prepare this as a latte.
Flavors: Spicy
Sipdown (129)!
Well, Brenna and I finished this off on Saturday when she was over for the weekend. It was more of a tragic sipdown for her though because this is her favourite tea. I’d love to grab more, ‘cause I like it too and she basically drank my whole stash of it but I’m not about to place an order for just one tea. Well, maybe as a Christmas present?
This last cup was super good though! It was uber sweet as well. Brenna added milk, and usually that mutes the maple notes a fair bit but I still felt like my tongue was dripping maple after a few swigs. Ugh; I’ll have to look at pricing to order like 4 oz. of this for her for Christmas. If it’s not unreasonable I might do it.
It doesn’t count as breaking hiatus if it’s for someone else, right?

Happy birthday to you!
Happy Birthday!
Ooh, happy birthday!!!
Thanks everyone!! :)
