Soon to be restocked thanks to Black Friday and Della Terra’s awesome deal!

In celebration of that fact, I’m enjoying a cup this morning. YUM!

Anna

I’m still thinking about that cup you shared with me at Christmas. Gonna have to get my own supply this year.

Em

I can share some with you. I have plenty :) I’ll bring some to you at Dad’s retirement!

This is by far my most logged tea. Reason: it is so HEAVENLY! Thinking I should have ordered more…

Cavocorax

I love it. I’ve only had 1 oz because every time I go to order it’s sold out. :P Luckily someone gave me some in a swap.

Della Terra Teas

Black Friday will be a GREAT time to pick more of this tea up :)

Cavocorax

Good to hear! I can’t wait! My fist tea purchase online was with Della Terra because of your awesome Black Friday sale last year. :D

Just made a foamy tea latte with this delicious tea. This is definitely my favorite dessert tea. PLEASE Della Terra keep this as a regular! I don’t think the 4 ounces I’ve purchased will last long enough and I’m too broke to buy more right now :)

Azzrian

I know!!! I NEED more but can’t purchase right now as I have too many other obligations – Holidays – Daughter’s bday and I owe one of my sororitea sisters for a tea membership we are splitting lol I can’t buy more tea right now BUT OMG I love this stuff it HAS to stay around!
Please Della Terra!

Em

I think we should start a campaign to save Eight Candles :)

Azzrian

Im in! :)

Em

Just made a discussion topic about it :) What else should we do with this campaign??

Azzrian

Going to check it out now :)

Azzrian

We should also write them :) Or facebook comment on it!

Em

I just sent them a message and commented on facebook. I’m totally serious about making this happen!!

Em

We are giving some serious Della Terra love tonight ;)

One word for this tea: AMAZING!! This tea is soooo yummy. I purchased it thanks to Azzrian’s review. So glad I did. Marshmallowy goodness. I was so happy that Della Terra restocked yesterday. Picked up 2oz of this and the Candy Cane! My bank account has really suffered this season, but somethings are worth it ;)

I wish Della Terra used Vegan Marshmallows…tear, tear…

Em

I wish they would for you too. Just give up your vegan powers and take a sip :) You get three strikes. (Scott Pilgrim reference, if you’re wondering)

Oops, I did it again. I opened the new packet and stuck my nose in. Really bad idea with this blend, the fragrance of which immediately reminded me of cough syrup. Yuck. Undeterred, I doled out a bit into my infuser.

The dry leaf in the infuser smells less like cough syrup than it does when you inhale the entire packet at once, but there’s still a pretty strong chemical component which I found pretty unpleasant. Thankfully, it’s mostly absent from the brew’s fragrance.

I’m pretty sure this is my first blueberry tea. Its flavour redeems it greatly, as the chemical nature of the fragrance is absent from the flavour and you’re left with a creamy tasting blueberry tea. The one thing that I learned is that I quite like this flavour, so I’m looking forward to trying other blueberry blends. But this one? Well, even if it were the only one, it still wouldn’t be my favourite, but it’s a pleasant enough introduction to the flavour profile.

My resolve to drink a full, unsweetened/unadulterated cup of any tea of which I have more than just a cup or two has already broken down and I’m back to taking just a few unsweetened sips before adding whatever I want to make it yummier. While I’ll probably still try to give it a go with straight tea, it doesn’t make sense with flavoured blends. Why fully enjoy five of six cups when I can fully enjoy six of six, amirite? =)

So. Blueberry Afternoon is fine unsweetened. Contrary to my expectations, I didn’t detect any tartness at all. I mean, I figured the “creamy” bit would offset most of the natural blueberry tartness, but I still expected a little, and I was happy to be wrong. And then I sweetened it and was even happier. =)

Water amount: 6oz/~175mL
Additives: ¾ tsp/~3.5g Demerara sugar

As I was brewing this up last night, I could smell the rooibos quite heavily. Medicinal and icky, which resulted in me avoiding drinking it until now, when I drank cold tea out of a mug by my bed. I actually couldn’t figure out which tea I was drinking at first, but process of elimination clearly identified it as this one. Thankfully, the rooibos has been tamed, and the result is a reasonably pleasant cup of tea that mostly tastes like a variant of Creme Caramel Rooibos. I really can’t pick up on any cappuccino flavour whatosever.

Overall, not as bad as I expected, but not Della Terra’s finest tea. Winter Nog is a far superior rooibos, in my opinion!

Weird….I totally taste the cappuccino in this :)

I received a sample of this with an order I placed. Since I don’t usually enjoy peppermint, I would never have chosen it myself. With that said, I am pleasantly surprised at this delicious winter treat. The peppermint flavor is subtle, blended deliciously with cocoa. This is so yummy, it may replace hot cocoa for me. Need a little peppermint pick-me-up this morning.

I haven’t logged lately because I’m not trying new things lately because all my money has gone to Christmas presents!! But I am sipping a delicious cup of this at my desk awaiting the 2 Christmas parties of the day to begin…also going crazy with excitement about my Nook Color that my lovely boyfriend gave my for Christmas and waiting impatiently to go pick out a cover!!

Rich smooth chocolate, spicy warm chili, an incredibly indulgent and uniquely flavored tea.

Just logging that I’m drinking it…at the bottom of the cup right now and I definitely feel the spice!! Warming, especially good for Vermont winters :)

Drank this yesterday, I enjoyed a cup before I visited family for Thanksgiving but didn’t really pay close attention to the flavors. I ordered this because I liked Azteca Fire from Teavana. Della Terra’s is way better, the flavor is a subtle smooth chocolate and the chili is wonderful!! I love that you can actually taste the chili instead of just feeling it like with Azteca Fire.

I usually brew a full pot of tea when I get home from work everyday, and I would love to make a pot of this, but I actually think it may be too spicy for me to drink that much of it. But it is definitely a fun tea, would probably suppress your appetite or be a good after dinner tea.

Sipdown! 809.

Yep, still enjoy this one; one of the better chocolate teas I’ve had, although I personally find a plain chocolate tea kind of boring. Chocolate hazelnut?? That sounds much tastier! (Someone make a chocolate hazelnut tea?? Stacy??)

Threw some of this in a travel mug yesterday because I was in a hurry and wanted a tasty flavoured black, but didn’t want to finish off anything (and I had enough of this left to still leave a cup’s worth). I don’t honestly remember thinking too much about it as I drank it, but I finished it, and it was good. Tasted much like the chocolate base of many of Della Terra’s teas, minus any of the additional ingredients that make them extra delicious.

Wowwwww. Chocolate. The only problem here is that the mouthfeel isn’t thick enough! This is definitely the most chocolatey tea I’ve had, though. Unfortunately, I think I’m all tea-d out tonight, so it’s not sitting well in my stomach. Consequence of it being, oh, 4am…

Oh, gotta compare this to DavidsTea’s Chocolate Cake. Bonus here is the lack of gross sprinkles, however!

ETA: This is undeniably better than Chocolate Cake in one major aspect: when cooled, it does not become a disgusting, grungy mess of luckiness and sprinkle bits. Flavourwise it may also be superior, but the lack of ick is a major, major plus.

ETA again: Second infusion isn’t bad. It smells delicious, but something’s a bit off about the flavour. It could certainly be that it sat for a day or two before the second infusion, so I’ll have to be a bit quicker with it next time! After this, however, the leaves didn’t even smell chocolatey anymore, so I threw them out.

This tisane is for maple lovers only! Seriously! If you don’t like maple, don’t even bother. Because this is – essentially – a thinned maple syrup.

YUM!

This is a yummy, warm, maple-y delicious rich cup. It is sweet and I’m loving every sip. But really, unless you’re mad about maple, you really shouldn’t bother with it, because it is almost like pure maple syrup, only thinner.

ETA: I forgot to mention when I was writing this, because I was so caught up in all its maple-y goodness … don’t forget to enter in the Della Terra Teas contest that’s going on at our blog right now: http://sororiteasisters.com/2012/11/23/the-season-of-giveaways-take-2/ But you better hurry … time’s running out!

Sil

Haha that’s totally what I thought :)

WOW!!!! I’d love to try this

I’ll be sure to add some to your ongoing box!

This sounds delish!

Must try. I love maple!

My third time drinking this tea and still no sign of coconut or chocolate. I guess I should give up trying to taste those 2 flavors and accept this as an almond tea. I really wanted to love it like I do Eight Candles and Candy Cane.

In other news, IT’S THURSDAY. And in my world of working on Sundays means it’s my last workday of the week. Yay!! On to Ikea and sewing projects this weekend.

gmathis

What will you be sewing? (I’m somewhat inept and haven’t done much but mending for years, but I come from a pretty unbreakable multi-generation strain of quilter DNA.)

Em

I’m making a purse as a Christmas gift for a friend. Sewing is a new hobby for me. My mother is teaching me. We’ve made 3 purses and a Kindle cover since our journey began. I find joy in the creative process. We don’t use patterns :)

gmathis

I do paper crafting instead of sewing these days. What gets the creative buzz going is matching up the colors and prints (ooh! that stripy stuff just fits with…). Which, when you think about it, is what our mothers and grandmothers were doing with those fabric scraps.

Em

What sort of paper crafts? That sounds like fun!

2nd cup of this tea and still struggling to find the chocolate or the coconut. This tastes very similar to the almond teas I’ve tried before. While it’s a good flavored almond tea, I was looking forward to the blend of coconut and chocolate with it. I enjoy it so I’ll rate it well, but I’m a bit disappointed.

Backlogging!

So this tea? It’s pretty delicious, but it’s too sweet for me. It really is like a cup of maple syrup, dilluted down a bit. I also sometimes wish Della Terra would get rid of the colourful candy bits they put into their teas. They often don’t add to the flavour and just mess up my brewing baskets.

If you enjoy maple syrup and sweet teas though, this is a good tea. Just a bit much for me :)

SIPDOWN!

I brewed the last of this cold to see if there was any improvement to the way this tastes and it’s better by leaps and bounds. That being said, it’ not enough to raise my rating of it since it’s not particularly “berry” tasting and only tastes good when it’s cold. Not to mention that my other half says it tastes like tiajuana flats "half sweet and half unsweetened tea’ that we get whenever we’re in florida lol

Iced 8 min or more

Bumped up the rating on this one a little since adding a bit more tea that usual produced an improved cup. Same story with other della terra teas for me. Enjoyed it but not enough to keep it in my cupboard :)

yeah…think i’m going to have to stick with my plan to try this cold. While it’s not a BAD tea…the flavour is just kind of in the middle without a real discernible strong taste one way or the other. I wouldn’t turn my nose at a cup of this again…but i don’t think i’d order it again either if i was looking for a fruity tea.
