Sipdown! Not too bad, but I don’t seem to be much of a fan of flavoured pu’erhs. I’d rather just have a black tea, because the earthiness of pu’erh often doesn’t mesh overly well with sweet/fruity flavourings (IMO).
(Also, I’m at well over 1100 teas right now. Not bothering with numbers until I’ve actually added teas from my more recent swaps, but I don’t believe I’m over 1200… I have my work cut out for me!)
Sipdown! 989. Honestly had forgotten that I drank this a few weeks ago, but enjoyed it just as much today as previously. Nice creamy lime with a reasonably gentle black base. Not getting the bitterness that people have described, but that’s likely because it’s a bit on the old side. Anyhow, a solid tea if this is the flavour you want. If I wasn’t so tea overloaded, it might be a nice change to have in my cupboard when I want a flavoured black, but something brighter and less caramel/chocolate.
Shockingly, despite 28 minutes of sitting there with the tea leaves in it… this cup of tea is actually quite good. No bitterness, just a touch of creaminess, and some definite lime. It’s reminding me a bit of Lime Jello from 52teas, although the lime is much more muted here – probably age-related, as per usual with everything I’m drinking lately. From what I can tell, though, it’s a pretty decent tea, and clearly with a durable base. It’s not going to beat out Lime Chiffon though (or for that matter, Lime Jello), but I wouldn’t mind trying it again fresh, in the hopes that there was in fact once more flavour.
Oh, and thanks to Sil for letting me try this one :)
After watching my husband play Blitzball (the side game for Final Fantasy X) for the best part of two hours I decided he can actually do something today and it was his turn to make the tea. In fairness I also let him pick which tea to try and this was what he chose. That doesn’t surprise me, he tends to like blackberry flavoured teas.
The tea smells a little like blackberry but more leaf than fruit, lightly sweet though mostly malty and smoky from the black base.
Flavour is rather nice actually, sweet and creamy vanilla dominates a malt and light blackberry after taste. Perhaps too ‘creamy’ or vanilla based for this blend, or not enough blackberry, which ruins expectations but even after that I’m enjoying it. I think that’s only because I love vanilla otherwise this would be extremely disappointing.
It’s nice but just not well balanced and as such I wouldn’t order this. While I like vanilla teas this is nothing better than an average vanilla blend.

Had this one this afternoon. Goodness. This one too!!
So delicious!
DTT really does creaminess well. I cannot say that enough! I need to get back to drinking this one more. When I first got it I was drinking it a few times a day haha!
Perfect decaf tea for a rainy day. (: Wish I felt well enough to have all sorts of other teas to celebrate the rainy day I have had, but have to focus on relaxing. Stupid body…
One day I will have to go where it rains all the time, so I won’t feel like I am missing out. D:
Got my DTT order in the mail today! Just what I needed to cheer me up after this awful week. Today was so bad, and I cried more than I wanted to, and I just wanted to go home and sleep. Though, my day didn’t really turn out that way. Was greeted at home by my tea order, that never even said shipped in the first place. xD
Got Eight Candles and Winter Nog!!
Definitely two staples in my collection!! Put those two teas in tins-so excited to have them!!
This one tastes just like I remember!
Creamy, vanilla-y, with just a touch of spices!
The perfect substitution for egg nog to me, since I can’t usually drink it.
Glad Albertocanfly got me hooked on this one! ^^
Plus it’s rooibos!! So won’t make me super awake!!
Ah, just love this one!
Ohhh and this is my 300th Tasting note! Not very impressive since I’ve been on here since January. But I only started actually posting a few months ago. And in light of how awful I have been physically, to me it’s saying a lot. All about those tiny accomplishments :P
Flavors: Cinnamon, Cream, Spices, Vanilla
My son and I both enjoy this one too! A nice one to drink in the evening and still get some good sleep at night :)
I will be watching Della Terra for a Black Friday sale.. I enjoyed a sample of the Eight Candles (& Oatmeal Raisin), and I could consider making another small purchase with them. I’ve enjoyed several of their teas.
When I first started drinking loose leaf teas about a year ago it seemed like I saw their sales all the time.. Now not so frequently. I do expect to see them do something for Black Friday/Cyber Monday.
This is another one from Albertocanfly that she sent to me in a big package a few months ago. And honestly, I wasn’t sure this would be any good.
But HOLY SHANGHAI!
I was WRONG.
It’s delicious!
I can’t even taste the rooibos.
Doesn’t make me think of egg nog too much, but it’s like a creamy vanilla tea, with a hint of spices. It’s absolutely delicious! Definitely ordering more if it comes back this year! Best tea I’ve tried today!
Thank you, Albertocanfly! You always give me teas that surprise me!!

This tea smells wonderful, just like freshly baked oatmeal raisin cookies. I just want to sniff my hot cup of tea all day. It smells like brown sugar, cinnamon, and raisin. Just spot on and delicious. The taste while hot nearly lives up to the smell, but as it cools, the taste changes to something less appetizing while the smell is still spectacular. Something cloying emerges that I don’t like. And, even hot the aftertaste is disappointing. After the main body of the sip is gone my mouth is left with an unpleasant sour taste that I’ve come to associate with many flavored teas. It continues to persist long after the cup is finished. I’m not a fan.
Flavors: Brown Sugar, Cinnamon, Cookie, Raisins, Sour
Preparation
This is an interesting tea, but it doesn’t live up to the strawberries-and-ice-cream that I was hoping to have in each cup…it comes across much more chocolate than expected and overall sits a bit heavy on the palate.
I’d enjoy it more if it wasn’t so sweet, but overall it was a tolerable cup. I’m not in a rush to drink it again or anything, but…it wasn’t awful.

Lewis & Clark TTB # 17
Rich caramel aroma. The tea flavors are stonger than the caramel in this tea. Both are quite powerful. After about 1/3 cup, I added sweetener, which I found enhanced the caramel flavor to the point where the flavors were balance. I’m a big fan of caramel, so I liked this tea.
Preparation
This might sound strange but….while this is a tea I would definitely consider reordering if it ever shows up on their site again, this didn’t pack the peanut butter punch I had hoped for. This is my first Della Terra Tea. I purchased it from somebody’s sale here on Steepster…but I must confess that I went kind of nuts buying from a bunch of people’s stash sales all at once and now can’t exactly remember who I got what from. Sorry, friends :(
Flavors: Chocolate
Don’t judge Della Terra only on this tea! I think it’s the biggest let down from what is promised by the name, and I have tried MANY DT teas.
Lewis and Clark TTB #6
Try tea has strong almond aroma. It’s even more powerful in the cup. The almond comes close to drowning out the flavor of the tea, but it does peek through underneath. I like this tea, but that is because I really love almonds. Even so, it’s almost too much for me.

ATTENTION: This note contains some science garbling semi-relating Darwinian Evolution/Population Dynamics to tea.
I came home after my Experimental Evolutionary Ecology Class (E^3 as we so fondly call it which irritates my boyfriend because he says that should only apply to video games…oh pish posh.— At least our lab groups have interesting names like E^3PO ..tehehe) and found a package from Ost anddd Carol Who waiting for me! Man, sciences classes, letters, and tea, could this weekday possibly get any better?!? I took out a herbal tea from Carol Who (note to follow-hopefully later in the day:D) and this tea from Ost. This one was first because caffeine must be drinken earlier in the day..
Boy am I so glad that I drank this tea after my evolution class because it is so fitting. The flavors in this tea EVOLVE…I can hardly stand how awesome this is!! It’s like generations and generations of accruing mutations happening in my mouth in one sip! :D Ahhh, from the primordial brown steeped liquor arises a slight spicy twang of cinnamon but suddenly a juicy blueberry point mutation occurs giving it a selective advantage over the cinnamon essentially outcompeting it until only the sweet juiciness of blueberry remains. Pretty soon, some cake migrates into the cup and obliterates the previously strong blueberry until all that is left is the sweet, cakey crumble to satisfy your taste buds. Three distinct flavors all fighting to be the fittest but leading to one very satisfying cup. An amazing dessert tea that just makes me happy (and it lasted three beautiful resteeps for me!^.^)
Thank you so much, Ost!
Flavors: Blueberry, Cake, Caramel, Cinnamon, Smooth
Isn’t it funny how tea can arrive all at once? Glad you like it!
Speaking of sort of evolutionary stuff… have you ever seen Orphan Black?
I love how this tea tastes like a delightful, fresh, minty tea, but has the chocolate flavor that gives it a sense of comforting sweetness.
My husband and I drank two pots of this tea in a row, and probably could have gone for a third… mint is one of his favorites, and the chocolate made this all the more delightful for us both!
Flavors: Candy, Chocolate, Cream, Peppermint, Tea, Vanilla
Preparation
My last tea before bed, just after something to leave a sweet taste in my mouth and ideally something to bring a wave of calm. Though I’m not a huge fan of chamomile I still found this blend interesting, after all I can’t judge what I haven’t tasted.
So in raw form it smells herbal and not much else, not appealing but not too bad. Once steeped it’s mildly minty and sweet, the chamomile is strong and honey like. Nicer than it’s raw scent anyway.
Well it’s not that bad actually, the mint is light and blends well with the chamomile, only a slight tartness to it but it vanishes pretty quickly. The chamomile is very sweet, like a mild honey. A little creamy too.
I like it, I’m happy the mint does not dominate though it does linger nicely in the after taste. The main attraction is the sweetness of it, and it’s lightness. The first sip made my husband yawn so it’s can’t be bad! I feel calm I suppose, relaxed, though it’s hard to scale.
Worth the gamble, happy to keep this on the shelf and see how it goes.
