Can’t believe I haven’t added a tasting note for this puppy, yet.
This is my favorite from David’s fall collection. I bought an extra 100 grams to stash away, knowing that this is a limited tea, and I only drink it now on special occasions to make it last. Anyone who wants to try Pu’erh tea but is a bit intimidated by the signature ‘earthy’ taste should consider giving this a whirl. It’s creamy, excellent with a dash of milk, and has an excellent coconut-chocolate taste that isn’t too much of one or the other. (what I mean by that, is that even a friend of mine who doesn’t usually like the taste of coconut enjoys this tea). The blend is, in my eyes, absolutely perfect and if there was a way to rate a tea higher than 100% I would!
Preparation
Drat! Too bad this tea is only part of the fall collection! You make it sound fantastic!!! I wonder if David’s will have any remnants still lurking about? If not, I suppose I’ll have to wait till next year! Thanks for the review
@DecemberMint. If it’s still online you can still order some. If you live near a store, just phone ahead to see if they have any in stock. I’ve heard they can also sell you some if it’s out of season and you buy A LOT (I’m talking like a whole canister or something).
It’s still online … http://www.davidstea.com/cocoa-paradiso
The David’s Tea on my street (this is why I’m always there, ladies) still had it when I went in on Monday, along with some of their other fall teas.
I’m looking forward to the two teas being released in December for Christmas.
I agree with Jaime, I’d be very much in trouble if there were a Davids on my street as well:) I love reading your notes about their teas Beckara!
Finally had this iced, and I still can’t taste the raspberry. This should be called Lemongrass Tea, because that is the main flavor. Is it bad? No. Just not what I expected from “Raspberry Nectar”.
I’d recommend the Detox Tea from David’s Tea as opposed to this one. It has more flavor.
Preparation
Now that it’s starting to get cooler, I’ve been drinking a lot of this tea. It smells like a campfire. Which brings back good memories and adds a lot of unique flavor to this tea.
Speaking of flavor, because of the strong smoky flavor, you either love it or hate it.
Edit: Looking back on this tea, it’s not one of my favourite LS.
Preparation
This tea is okay. Considering I don’t like green rooibos, it’s not bad. It is a green-brown colour, and will leave an orange ring around the top of your mug from the orange sprinkles (washes out). The smell after brewing is sweet and fruity. The taste is not so fruity to me, but more just the green rooibos with a hint of sweetness from the candy. It’s limited edition for Summer 2010, so it’s worth a try but you have to order soon before it’s all gone.
Preparation
My husband really liked how the canister of this smelled, so we bought a bag. I’m not really crazy about any teas with sugar already added. If the tea needs sugar, I’d rather just add it in later.
We mostly drink this iced. When you brew it hot it’s more like hot cider with added fruity flavor. I can’t say that the flavor is bad, it’s just not something I go crazy for. It’s not an awful tea, but I’m not impressed enough to buy another bag.
Preparation
Every time I go to David’s, I intend to buy this tea.
And I usually walk away with something else and regret it when I get home.
Today I went for Forever Nuts. They were out, so I requested Goji Pop. They were out.
SO the stars finally aligned for my favourite spicy treat: Cinnamon Rooibos Chai!
The smell of the cinnamon is like an assault to the face; a slap to the sinuses. This, of course, is absolutely a good thing.
This is only the second time I’m brewing it without having little floaties in it, because none of my steeping balls were fine enough to trap the tiny little shards of rooibos. The T-Sac disposable tea bags sure are though!
Looking out the window, eve in the dark I can see the branches of my weeping birch whipping back and forth more horizontal than they have any right to be; it’s a blizzard, you see. They told us all yesterday and today that it was coming, but it was so beautiful and temperate and WINDLESS today that I didn’t buy it. Shut my mouth for sure.
So I’m expecially thankful that I have this cinnamon-infused delight in my cup tonight. I would be ultra-disappointed had I been left to the more springy- and summery-tasting teas in my cupboard.
The cinnamon makes you feel as good as cinnamon gum or cinnamon candies~. It’s warming and comforting and delicious and it smacks your mouth awake. So, so right for right now.
Thank you, Tea Gods, for having me pick up some Cinnamon Rooibos Chai today.
~ Or, rather, as good as they USED to make me feel. I over-over-over-indulged as a girl and now whenever I try to enjoy something synthetic with cinnamon in it, I wind up with strips pulling off the inside of my mouth and along my tongue like a hundred disgusting little hairs. It’s truly awful. Especially considering how much I love cinnamon gum.
It’s cold out and my day started with an unsatisfying pumpkin spice tea paired with an equally unsatisfying chocolate danish, so now it’s time for a working treat while my baby is sleeping.
That treat is Cinnamon Rooibos Chai, easily my favourite spicy tea of all time.
The smell of the dry tea alone is enough to smack you out of any dozy funk you might be in. The cinnamon is like a marching band of sparkling brass and gifted percussionists.
I like to use a little bit too much and steep at the high end of the recommended time, because I like it SPICY.
Also, because I’m a milk-and-sugar kind of girl, I splash in a tiny bit of 1% and a little dab of lemon honey.
The smell of the steeped tea, after an agonizing 7 minute wait, is just as explosive as the tea in the little bag, and it makes my upper lip and palate go the tiniest bit numb. Pure childhood memories of sitting in the tree-named cabins at Camp Wannakumbac , seeing who could eat the most candy cinnamon hearts. (I always won. I suspect it may be the reason behind my inability to enjoy any synthetic cinnamon products without suffering a week’s worth of mouth lacerations.)
Just as you bring the cup to your mouth to sip, you can detect the lemon and orange, and then the satisfyingly heavy spicy treat washes over your tongue and warms your whole body.
Good times.
Good times.
I only have enough left for one more cup after this.
I think I’ll hoard it.

OH, my beloved Forever Nuts!
To my delight and surprise, you were hiding in wait in the little cardboard box sent directly from David’s Tea as a prize for me for entering a Steepster review contest on Twitter. I knew to expect an arrival of tea; I didn’t think to expect an arrival of three of my most favourite teas!
You and your cousins (Cinamon Chai and Orange Pekoe) were nestled all snug and tasty in the little cup-sized box, wrapped in tissue paper. I haven’t been able to find you for AGES in the for-real David’s Tea at Polo Park, so I have been trying to hide my disappointment.
In my haste, I added a little bit too much brown sugar and quite a bit too much whole milk, but you managed to shine through, your absolutely delightful princess pink staining the water and milk alike and your oatmeal-muffin tastiness coming through in smell, taste and happiness.
You make my #1 Mom mug seem even better than it already is and you make my working late into the night seem like nothing.
I love you, Forever Nuts.
Do you love me too?
Preparation
FINALLY!
I left my tin at a friend’s house a MONTH ago and I’ve been without my Forever Nuts since then. I’ve wanted it every single day and I finally have it back. (Of course, after this cup I have enough for one more cup and then it’s off to David’s. What’s that? Just in time for the spring teas, you say? Fortuitous!)
The pinkness makes me so happy when I bring it to my lips. It’s ridiculous. I feel like I’m drinking a princess drink in the best possible way.
It smells like a freshly-baked apple oatmeal muffin and it tastes as amazing as it smells. I can’t pick out any specific tastes (although the dried apples linger nicely), other than “muffin”, but that’s all the description that I require.
Even though this is a tisane, it’s what I chose to get me through tonight’s working blitz. More for the mood than any keeping-me-awakeness.
My mouth is happy. My face is happy. Even my mug is happy.
Thank you, Forever Nuts!
Preparation
The specifics of the spring teas have not been disclosed to me, but you better believe that I’m going to start hinting on Twitter and Facebook that a little peeky-loo might go a long way. ;)
One of the people in my local store mentioned they were having atea parties soon, but none of that was mentioned in the Feb newsletter, that I saw. I was disappointed.
Okay. Regarding spring teas:
If you follow David’s tea on Twitter, they hinted that they may be giving a sneak peek this weekend.
You’re welcome. ;)
Well, THIS is unusually delicious!
The mintiness almost opens up your mouth to make way for the citrus. It has none of that toothpaste tang that I usually find minty teas have. The rooibos adds a very satisfying heavy mouthfeel.
I have only tried it hot, with a splash of milk and sugar.
Didn’t need the sugar.
Will try it cold on the weekend!
Preparation
This tea brings out a lot of coconut. The green rooibos flavour is there as well. I have found that I am not fond of green rooibos so I’m not fond of this tea either. But if you’re into these flavours, you may enjoy it. And pineapple? didn’t taste it at all.
Preparation
A light black tea with a smooth flower taste. Reminds me of “maui wowi” from Teaopia (which I believe is discontinued, so this would be a good replacement for those of you who miss that one). It’s tropical smelling and tasting and the black tea is a nice background flavor, the other flavors (jasmine, rose) are what you taste more. The aftertaste is more of the black tea.
Preparation
I was so excited to try this tea, followed the instructions exactly and it tasted like…water. Or really weak green tea. I admit I only tried it hot but I’m not too excited to try the iced version. Very disappointing:(
