Tart! Lots of real lemon pieces in here, pith and peel, too. Not a strong vanilla taste, but it does temper the citrus. I like this one sweetened. Does NOT forgive a long steep; left too long, this one, even sweeted, becomes undrinkable.

I can taste everything they promise: first the strawberries, then chocolate and roses, then a pleasant China black. I’m not always in the mood for this one, but today it’s doing nicely as a PMS tea. Chocolate and roses, I guess. I prefer this one slighty sweetened.

A fun tea. The scent coming all pent-up from a tin can be a bit overwhelming, but that’s rose petals for ya.

So, China black, chocolate and rose petals … steep gently, maybe sweeten if you like … a wickedly good afternoon or evening tea. A good balance. I feel more beautiful after drinking it; that’s chocolate and roses working their magic. If you like flowery teas, definitely try this one. Would make a lovely accompaniment to dessert on the way to … um, sorry, better keep this PG. :)

First of all, this tea tastes absolutely disgusting if you brew it at the suggested temperature (near boiling). I’ve gone through quite a few nests just trying to find the right temperature and time. So I went for a low temperature, and it doesn’t taste bad at all.

It certainly has a bit of earthyness to it, but the main flavor is floral (chrysanthemum). This reminds me of green tea with flowers. The liquor color from this attempt is pale yellow. Which I think is the color range you want to aim for. If it gets much darker (amber almost), you won’t enjoy it at all. Strangely enough, I think the earthy notes add a rustic warmth of their own.

I am starting to have better luck brewing this tea but it is difficult to get it right. A big thank you goes out to Jaime for suggesting a lower temperature.

After rinsing the leaves (which I don’t know was good enough), I smelled the tea. Right away, I was put off by how dusty it smelled. I’m not sure if I didn’t rinse the leaves enough though so I can’t argue about the dust too much. Then, drinking it I was pleasantly surprised. It’s very light in color and taste, but still the dust was starting to irritate my nose. So I wasn’t able to pick out the different flavors of the tea. :(

On the second brew I let it sit slightly too long and I ruined it. I’m not used to teas that are this fickle. When I say I let it sit too long, I mean an extra 30 seconds. If you see this tea darken all of a sudden, it is completely ruined. Unless you like dusty, bitter, watered down Timmy’s coffee.

I still have 5 or so of these left so, I’ll use the remaining ones to figure out how to make a good cup of tea. I’m going to try and rinse the leaves a bit better next time and watch my tea timer very carefully.

I tried “rinsing” the pu-erh twice with boiling water. Then steeping it for a short time and drinking it. Not exactly David’s way but something I picked up from a tea book. (Hey I am a pu-erh noob, cut me some slack! hahaha)

It tastes better, but I am still not crazy about it. Its flowery and earthy. Like you wandered into a garden the morning after it had just rained.
On the 2nd steep (counting real steeping, not including the two I chucked out), it was especially mouth-watering. Unfortunately there is this funky aftertaste present with each sip.
If this is from the chrysanthemum flower, then I am beginning to think I don’t really care for that type of flower. If it is the pu-erh, well then I really ought to find some good pu-erh one of these days because I am tired of being so disappointed.

smooth, light and very refreshing! Very nice caramel and apricot notes (not overpowering though more subtle with green tea base. Lovely!

Added a splash of Peppermint Mocha Creamer by Nestle today, yum yum!

Chocolate, minty with a touch of spice. I had my mom make me some of this post surgery yesterday and it tasted great! My husband does not know how to make my tea- he says that is why he bought me the breville…. have to teach him how to use it! But mom came through for me :)

YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is part of David’s tea fall collection 2010- it is a yummy mocha tasting tea! I am not a coffee drinker but I still really enjoyed this tea. I could see coffee drinkers would probably really enjoy this (it has coffee beans in it) I had received this as one of 3 free samples when I placed my order. I will be ordering more of this one!

Yes, I realize it’s a bit late for a Halloween tea. But really, the zombie apocalypse could happen at anytime. Best to be prepared: keep your cricket bat next to the door and have plenty of tea on hand.

This is a wonderfully sweet green tea blend. The base tea is not drowned out by the apricot or the caramel, though both are fairly strong. Apricot and caramel are two flavors I’d never think to pair (apricot and dark chocolate, yes, and caramel with apples, of course), but it works very, very well. The scent is nearly completely caramel, but the sip balances out and all the flavors can be tasted. Very rich, thick, and creamy mouthfeel. Yum!

Let the zombies come. I’m ready.

Got a sample of this from David’s with my order a while ago and forgot about it. I was looking for something fresh and light and stumbled across it in the cabinet. Gave it a whiff. Thought, “This smells about right” and made a cup. So far I’ve only tried this one hot and I love it. It’s so refreshing and crisp tasting. Almost like a wake-up call for the taste buds, and yet really soothing. I’m a fiend for cinnamon and it was very welcome in this tea. The combination of lemongrass and pineapple is great. I think this would be great iced too but that’s for another time.
Had this iced today and wow, it is really nice, even nicer than it is hot! Definitely a new favorite.

Second steep of leaves not as good, sadly. Still there, but not as strong and flavorful. Have a feeling this one won’t be lasting long in my house.

In my early days on Steepster, I’d browse the teas to see what was out there. I found this, and fell in love with the name. This was before I’d ever even had a green rooibos blend, and it went on my Shopping List.

It’s now in my Cupboard.

The smell is fantastic: all green rooibos and fruity/tangy. Taste is green rooibos with tropical fruits, and just a smidgen of sweetness from the candy sprinkles. Absolutely fantastic!! I’m enjoying it hot right now (it’s 54 F outside, ain’t no way I’m drinking anything cold!), but can easily see myself drinking pitchers of this in the summer. I know it was one of their Summer 2010 teas…will it be back, or do I need to invest in more now?

Tried some of this iced tonight. It’s still pretty good but I prefer it hot.

It’s starting to cool down quite a bit. So I’m more interested than ever to stock up on some chai blends.

The spices add a special ‘warmth" to my day. Tea leaves before and after brewing, have a strong scent. I think that the ginger really comes out in this blend. It’s not overpowering, just enough to please your senses. As a chai blend, I usually prefer more caffeine but because it tastes really good I’m willing to overlook it.

Yummy… just received my first Davids Tea order (received my order in 1 week) Because it is late in the day I decided to make this one first (I am saddened that I will have to wait to try the yummy black teas for a few days I have to be at the hospital first thing tomorrow for surgery and can have NOTHING :( to drink after midnight) yuck! But it will help knowing when I return home I will have lots of yummy new teas to choose. OK enough about why I chose this one first… YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM this smells just like the maple syrup my in laws just brought back for us from their visit to Canada the other month. OMG it tastes like a tea version of maple syrup but not too sweet. I really like this. In the past I cringed at rooibos but have found a few that I really enjoy! I so want to try the Buttered Rum tea but really need sleep tonight… maybe just a small cuppa??!!!

This tea is light, flowery, and almost…peach-tasting! I sweetened it slightly, and I very impressed with it! I probably shouldn’t be drinking black tea at this time of night, but no matter! It’s light fruitiness makes it SEEM like something herbal, so I can pretend I’m not doing something I’m going to regret when, in a few hours, I can’t sleep.

It reminds me a little bit of Lipton’s White Tea with Mango and Peach, actually! Only, you know, 100x better, and with a lighter taste. You really can taste the flowers!

Defiantly one of my new favorites.

I’ll admit, I chomped down a bag of Oreo Thinsations while this tea was steeping, so my palate may be compromised (with crunchy chocolatey goodness…)
You can really smell that maté strawiness coming through, as well as the coffee. It’s like you can’t really expect what it’ll taste like by the smell. Will it taste like coffee? Like maté? (I am not a maté drinker, by the way. I do not care for the taste. This tea came in the Power teas three-pack at David’s Tea, which was the first thing I bought from them.) It does smell sweet, but — having tried this tea before — I’ve dumped in a healthy amount of whole milk and granulated sugar, so that may be helping.
There were no actual beans or chunks of cocoa in my teaball while I was steeping.
It is a very pale tea, with almost more of a puce tinge than the traditional brown I think of when I think tea. Lovely, lovely oily drops flowing on the top and sitting on the rim of my mug where the tea sloshed a little bit while I was carrying it down to the basement.
Mouthfeel is awful at first. Thin and almost tinny. But then it billows up and hurtles itself down your throat as a very robust entity. A strange transition. A characteristic of the maté? Maybe.
The taste is very, very full. I can taste the chocolate (white and cocoa), the faint kiss of coffee, and the sweetgrass maté.
When I was in my early teens, I went and spent a week with my friends (one of whom is a fairly accomplished local performing artist, one of whom works for the socialist government, and one of whom I have lost touch with entirely), and we stayed near a house in a camping trailer. I had never been in a camping trailer, and slept poorly. We all did.
But it was a full moon, and we were all feeling rather spiritual, so we left the camping trailer, gathered sweetgrass, and made it into dolls sitting around a burnt-out campfire under the mostly full moon.
I kind of get that feeling from this tea.

Taffy Terror is ok, nice caramel blend. Not a tea I would drink everyday, but once in a while you need little caramel in your life!

Finished my 50g bag of this today. When I had my first cup of this tea, I was blown away by how much lavender there is. I’ve tried Jessie’s Tea before, and that only has a slight hint of lavender, while Lavender Zen has a very strong flavor.

Personally, I don’t like lavender a whole lot. Even so, I think the green tea works really well with lavender. So while I enjoyed being able to try this, I wouldn’t buy more.

For some reason, my husband said that this smells like funnel cake when it’s brewed. I guess it smells good for a dessert tea.

It tastes just like you would expect it to. The green tea is very mellow, and the lavender is pretty noticeable too. My husband thinks it’s rather “creamy.” I’m not a big fan of lavender, but this tea is still pretty enjoyable. Overall it is a light tea, not heavy on any strong flavors.

I adore this iced in the summer.
