I was sooooooo excited when I got this one yesterday I was able to sample it before but now I have it in my collection for a little while! YAY!

She sent me some of this to try and I really REALLY Like it!

At first sip I could totally taste the rum comparison! After my first sip I started to notice some other things!

I could taste the vanilla as it cooled a bit but found it to be a bit peppery the colder it got, actually. This isn’t a bad thing! I think it contributes to that warm rum type taste without it actually being warm in temperature.

OH YES! And Coconut! LOVE the Coconut in this!!!

I like the buttery notes.

I was sitting here sipping – almost chugging, actually – while watching Harry Potter Trailers! I won’t be watching it this weekend when it opens but hopefully soon-after! Can’t wait!!!!

AND…I am throwing this in the SIPDOWN because I started and finished what I had today! :)

There is not anything I dislike about this tea. When I received it in a sample box, I instantly went sniffing through all the leaves — this one was the most memorable. The tea itself is a peculiar combination of flowers, fruits, and nuts, I am surprised by the result. Granted, this is a white tea, so the taste is quite mild, it’s so creamy, smooth, and has a really unique nutty, toasty flavor to it. On the first sip, the first image brought to my mind was a toasted marshmallow (but not quite as sweet), but even then I wouldn’t say that flavor is accurate.
This might possibly be my new favorite comfort tea.

This tea is really delicious especially during a hot summer day. Very exotic taste.

So very tasty and just as advertised. I can’t believe how spot on it is and I am so thankful for the opportunity to try this one. Thank you Jaime

Received a free sample of David’s Orange Pekoe in a recent order.

Dry leaves: zero scent, but they look intriguing. Unassuming, perhaps, like that quiet guy who excels in art class in high school and hides behind his hair.

4-minute steep, boiling water, 1TB for 500mL, no milk or sweetener … classic ‘normal tea’ taste. Some depth and sweetness from the Assam, brightness from the Ceylon … very good. No bitterness. Yet still finishes a bit hollow, like it lacks something … more punch from the Assam, maybe? I find myself bracing for a malty pucker, some astringency on the back of the tongue, but it doesn’t arrive.

I’d confidently serve this at a big dinner or a tea party as ‘normal’ tea offering, but I’m not sure I’d go out of my way to get it for myself, not when David’sTea alone offers so much more. And my old fave, the fair trade English Breakfast from my local teashop, Britannia, leaves this eating yesterday’s dust. Perhaps I’m being a snob.

First Impressions

After the smell, the taste is underwhelming. Could have just been regular green tea, hmm… I should try it again.

Looking back at my review 8 months ago, I still feel the same way about this tea. It has a very unique, “magical” sort of flavour to it. It has an amazing balance between heavy, earthy, oolong notes and the lighter milky and buttery notes. By far, my favourite DAVIDsTEA.

Since that review I’ve read debates about the natural or unnatural methods to make it. I enjoy learning more about tea in general, but I let the drinking experience speak for itself. With DAVIDsTEA Milk Oolong it was love at first sip.

I smelled this tea in the store, and was blown away by the strange scents.

Tasting notes: it’s incredibly creamy and has an unusual flavor layered on top of the usual oolong. My husband and I really like this oolong, so it might soon become one of our favorites.
This is definitely worth trying once, because it is such a unique tea. It smells really good before and after brewing.

I was surprised at the flatness of the batch of Black Needles I got. Flat taste, I mean. I got some of the pepper but only a teasing hint of musk, and then a stale-wininess. Has a sharp scent, almost of sweat. If this had been my first ever black needle Yunnan, I might have liked it better, but my local teashop and Stash Teas both supply better versions.

Lovely candy apple red colour; great oily swirls. Smells very much like blueberries, cherries & raspberries. Disappointing mouthfeel. It’s like it leapfrogs my tongue and heads straight for my throat. There is a slight lingering juiciness, however. The taste is nice, but I can’t pick out a single flavour. Kind of a fruit punch quality.
The kind of tea you’d serve at a picnic princess tea party. Kids would probably love it. I’m not so convinced.

Steeped, and then iced. I’ve had this tea a couple times and wanted to try it cold because I thought, with the pistachios, it would be quite refreshing. This is a tea that seems to need to be sweetened (I use honey) just a touch, but I didn’t add milk. This tea does sort of remind me of a bubble tea that I had was, but I can’t quite remember what flavour it was…

I need to make iced tea more often!

I received this as a sample with my Davids Tea order… decided to try it. This is a light tea… I am getting some strawberry flavor but more of a brown sugar, cinnamon crumble taste… which is delightful! I wouldn’t mind having more of this tea.

You can really taste the chamomile! I find that the other flavours in this tea are a bit overpowered by it. There is a hint of rooibos, and a sweetness that I’m assuming is the caramelized banana, but for a tea with banana in the title, it’s a bit underwhelming.

It’s a very nice tisane, however, as a sweetened chamomile, and I did quite enjoy the cup I had. I just don’t feel it’s really a ‘banana’ tea!

I was bragging to my mom on the weekend that the I, the usually constantly-sick, didn’t get a single cold this winter. Of course last night I started feeling a bit sniffly. Today I am feeling run-down and a little congested. I have turned around several almost-colds this winter, so I hope I can do the same with this. I will be consuming a whole lot of tea today in the process, starting with this.

I think this tea would be more aptly named Forever Nuts than the one that is. So nutty! So nutty that I don’t often feel like drinking this, but when I do I love it. It’s a really pleasant, easy-going tea with a nice layering of flavours.

This tea is pleasant. That sums it up for me.

I find it very enjoyable when I drink it, but I don’t find myself reaching for it or craving it often for some reason. It is pretty nutty which is nice but as others have mentioned overrides the white tea flavour. Largely I prepare it for my mother when she’s over as she likes anything involving white tea and it’s not going to over-excite her (which is easy to do).

I’ve finally come back to this tea. It was one of my first DT teas, but I just don’t find myself wanting it often. Today I made it chilled. The amazing weather has got me loving the cold tea.

This smells criminally good, dry. But iced it’s very similar to how I find it hot; underwhelming. It’s pleasant enough but I think the over-the-top incredible smell always clouds my judgement and makes me try to imagine it tastes better than it actually does. It’s really just okay. I want the peach to come through more but something about the balance of all the flavours seems a bit off. I don’t know. Nice tea, but not one I’ll likely re-stock.

Okay, second steep:

It’s holding up quite well! The peach is diminished somewhat, but the oolong is just as nice the second time around. I’m seeing why oolong is recommended as a tea to re-steep (novice, here).

I also made this in a Libre tea glass and I’m kind of mesmerized by watching the leaves and stems and almond slices and other bits swim around the glass.

I cannot believe how good this tea smells. It makes me want to use it as potpourri. It looks pretty cool too, so that idea isn’t all bad. It’s a slow night at work tonight so I’m hoping this is my chance to try multiple steeps with this tea.

First steep:
I steeped for about five minutes, and love the golden colour it produces. The peach isn’t as show-stopping as the smell has me hoping, but it’s very nice. Subtle, and smooth.

I like this tea. It’s nice. But, it doesn’t seem to be exciting enough for me and I never find myself wanting to make it. So, I have a largely full tin sitting abandoned.

Last night, making a new pitcher of cold tea (that is standing in for water these days), I had an odd impulse to use this tea. And, actually, it’s not bad. The first sip is really odd and I get hit with that caramel, but it grows on me as I sip on it. It’s just a sweet, mild cool green tea.
