I have no idea how I’ll get through all these holiday teas I got this year before the holidays are over! It’s a good thing they’re all so tasty. I’m having a cup of this now, while brewing a pitcher of Rishi’s iced mint rooibos. I’ve been reading so much about mint rooibos here lately, was waiting to blend the rooibos and mint I have at my office, and I totally forgot that I had a way of trying some in the house!
I really do love this cup of tea. So much that I just changed my rating to 100 for it. With Sufjan’s Stevens holiday music in the background, it’s just that kind of day!
Aw man, I have an order from Mighty Leaf sitting on my doorstep waiting for me, but you’re making me want some of this when I get home.. love this stuff. And you have excellent taste in music!
Will have a cup tonight as well! I love that this tea tastes good and it’s cheap :) Does anyone sweeten this tea? I usually drink it straight and it tastes great.
Haha, great minds, TeaEqualsBliss! :)
Thanks, Bethany, it sounds like you must have excellent taste in music, too. :) I hope you had time for both some Candy Cane Lane and Mighty Leaf!
Rabbymom, I don’t sweeten it, it seems sweet enough as it. I wonder what others’ preferences are!
Love this stuff! I’m having a cup to celebrate my husband’s lunchtime purchase of a box of green tea from Celestial Seasonings for his office. If it goes well, he’s going to branch out and try some of the things in my green tea collection!
Exciting! Was mission: Green Tea successful? [If you answered this in subsequent logs, just ignore me. Hee.]
:) We’re working on it… He works at home on Mondays, so for now he’s moved up to Mighty Leaf Sencha/Sencha Deep Roast one day a week. Next up: Den’s Genmaicha Extra Green!
Why does this tea taste so sweet to me? Looking at the ingredient list I have no clue what might be causing it, but it’s almost like there’s a spoonful of sugar in the bag. Maybe the plum flavouring? Although I’d expect that to be a bit more tart.
Hm.
Preparation
I shared a pot of this with my mother, brother, and boyfriend as we decorated my mother’s X-mas tree this evening. This time the tea was steeped in a four-cup pot with only two teabags, so it was more dilute than normal, but still quite festive-tasting. The plum flavour was a lot stronger, though not as sweet as before, and the cinnamon, while warming, was a lot less in-your-face.
Preparation
It’s another cold day and I’m feeling a bit fluey so I’m drinking this to warm up. This is such a ‘hot’ tea with the cinnamon and ginger. Normally I’d be making ‘blargh’ faces at the hibiscus but the fruity-sweet plum flavour seem to counterbalance it.
Preparation
It’s been over year since I drank this tea and clearly my memory has faded a bit in the meantime as I took a sip and WHOA! -What a kick from the cinnamon and the sweetness! It’s less of a ‘bleh’ reaction than a oookaaay-maybe-I-won’t-steep-this-quite-as-long-next-time reaction. I do wonder what’s causing the sweetness, I’ll have to peruse the ingredient list on the box. is curious now
Preparation
Bought a Celestial Seasonings fruit tea sampler box recently and now they are all but gone. My favorite of them all is Dark Cherry, would definitely buy a whole box of those if I ever come across it. The smell and the taste are indeed of dark cherry!
I loved most teas in the box as they are caffeine free and make the best end of day “desert” before bed.
I am not big on Chamomile but I am ending my day with this cup today since I have been staying up till 5am for the past 2 weeks and just can’t seem to get myself to bed any earlier, hoping this helps. Somehow I never really want to have Chamomile so only drink it in hopes of a quiet night or as a mix with other herbs when I am experimenting. But when I do have it the taste is unique and pleasant.
Just made a Candy Cane Lane White Russian. Took a Candy Cane Lane tea bag and steeped in good helping of vodka for approx 10 minutes. Poured over ice, added simple syrup and half and half.
Wow. That was amazing. :)
Oh dang! Would do it w/o simple syrup for me, but that sounds AMAZING. Maybe add some Godiva liquor too?
Don’t get me wrong, I love peppermint schnapps… but I’m thinking that might make it too pepperminty since it’s a candy cane tea.. peppermint schnapps would be a great choice for another adult tea beverage though- maybe a chocolate tea?
Yum.
I need something to get me through this business trip, and this is helping, a lot. I love how creamy and minty and just yummy this is.
my first experience with rooibos outside of starbucks/CBTL. gotta say pretty yummy. i drank some plain – yummy – decided to add some vanilla creamer – also yummy and reminded me of a mix of a chai tea latte and vanilla rooibos tea latte from CBTL, my two favorites. perfect combination of sweet and spicy.

I’m not a fan of the Celestial Seasonings bagged teas. However, as far as trying to find herbal flavors, they make so many different types (unfortunately they all taste the same to me – some have more cinnamon, others have less). But I admire your dedication to the herbal arena. :)
I wouldn’t necessarily say I’m a fan of Celestial Seasonings bagged tea, either…. though I am a fan of Candy Cane Lane. :) It’s a once a year journey back into the holiday Celestial Seasoning’s offerings.
As for herbals… I’m counting the days until I can get back to all real tea (as in from the tea plant)…. this low caffeine thing is killing me!!! :)
I’m so right there with you! I went herbal for a while and wondered where all the flavor went to. All promise, and no lift. I’m cheering you on though! :)
:) No kidding. I’m letting myself have a little every day, and otherwise I’m living vicariously through folks here, and keeping a very thorough wishlist for later!!
