Recently got a sample of this tea, and one of my favorite parts was that the dry leaf has a very nice roasted vanilla aroma to it.

As for the actual tea, I slightly detected marshmallow, but not really the smokiness. (Many seem to have detected it the other way around!).

I wouldn’t actually go for this to have a ‘Toasted Marshmallow’ tea, but instead a really smooth, enjoyable black tea. The Oolong definitely comes through and adds a well-rounded, nice aftertaste.
It didn’t put up well to a resteep, however (though… I may not have brewed it long enough).

I’m glad to have been able to try this, it was very enjoyable!

“I liked the idea of a lapsang souchong blend because plain lapsang can be too strong for me. Mixing with the vanilla oolong and the black cream is such a good idea. The tea really does smell like a campfire but I was hoping for a stronger marshmallow element. I ended up adding some soymilk and a bit of vanilla extract which definitely helped bump up the flavor a bit

I brewed the last that I had of this yesterday to make a pitcher of iced tea. As good as this one is hot, it is brilliant iced. Really liking this.

How interesting! Teawing and I were recently discussing Mint Juleps. Blackberry sounds delicious!

KeenTeaThyme

Glad you like this one! (No biased am I – just teasing!) I’ll make a “better” blend when I start selling my own later this summer by adding blackberry pieces and more mint.

Never tried it iced though. YUMs!

I got some of this from JoeCool (Nichole) a while back, but, I never got around to trying it. This is delightful! Sweet and fruity and minty. The mint doesn’t overpower. It is a very refreshing cup. Nice! Thanks Nichole!

This is my breakfast tea of the day! It went perfectly with a scrambled egg topped with lavender goat cheese, a gala apple, and natural chocolate peanut butter. I’m almost out of this one though – I will be reordering especially for iced tea latte purposes!

I’m revisiting this one today and am finding it very smoky and slightly sweet as always! This is a great custom blend which is especially good iced. I’m definitely going to have to buy another pouch of this soon!

RachanaC (Rachel)-iHeartTeas

Agreed this is some good stuff. I think I will cold brew this to have for tomorrow.

I’m glad you guys like this. :) I haven’t tried it iced – sounds like a mission for this week! :)

I’m having this as a tea latte and it is completely amazing and awesome. It is like the best part of summer in a cup! All sweet and creamy but at the same time smoky and savory. I am surprised that it too so well to milk, but I’m extremely glad that it did so. So, so good!! Okay, I need to be alone with my tea now. Good night, Steepsterites!

Thanks to KeenTeaThyme for allowing me to try this blend! I am not a big lapsang fan but I was so intrigued by the name of this tea that I wanted to try it despite the lapsang issues I have. I love the marshmallow and wish there was more of it! It was very nice to try and for those who enjoy lapsang I would recommend this blend!

QuiltGuppy

I have to admit, the more I hear about this tea, the more I’m tempted to buy some to try! :)

KeenTeaThyme

I normally dislike lapsang too – but I needed to make amends with it in order to make this work. It took some blending, but less (lapsang) is best. ;)

Clever way to evoke toasted marshmallows! This tea is fun to try. The lapsong is a complement rather than front forward, so folks who shy away from strong smokiness have nothing to fear here. Brewed one cup plain and another with added almond milk, which seemed to water it down rather than enhancing it. Just a little astringency on the finish. I’m picking up almond flavor, as well. Folks who are drawn to flavored teas would probably rate this much higher.

Been slammed at work lately, no time to log but I have taken plenty of time for tea. I am thankful to my many friends I have met here for introducing me to new and exciting teas.
This is becoming a favorite, I really think it should be marketed! Thanks to KiTT and her Blog, I won a wad of this (southern measurement term) and some other samples.
I will log them later, but I love the slightly smoky, creamy, vanilla flavors and this is the honest truth, you can close your eyes with a cup of this and you are at a campfire…well, as long as you don’t spill any of it!

KeenTeaThyme

You are so sweet! I’m glad you like it. I too can’t get enough…but may be slightly biased! :)

Thanks KiTT for sharing your stash! The flavors are exactly as you describe, slightly smokey, a hint of vanilla and cream…just like a toasted marshmallow. Now I don’t have to wait for bonfires and hot dog roasts in the Fall to enjoy. If you like Lapsang Souchong, you will like this one.

Thank you “KeenTeaThyme” for sending me such a generous sample of this deliciously creative tea. I was surprised to get a taste of toasted marshmallow. I tasted a hint towards the end of the sip. Overall, I wish it was a bit stronger in flavor but I will say it is smooth and just the right amount of smokiness. Yum!

Just picked this one up. . . .and I’m so happy I did. I’m a bit of a blackberry nut as of late and this one took care of my blackberry cravings. Soo good. All of the flavors mingle in such a happy way. This one is fantastic hot or cold (I tried both today) Will always be in my tea cupboard. . . Love it!

KeenTeaThyme

You are a sweetheart! I’m glad you liked it. ;) Saw some of your awesome blends and I’ve got to try them – any tea that makes Ash prevail rocks! :)

I was a bit leery of this blend as it contained lapsang tea, which always throws me with its smoky scent and flavor, but in this blend,it really makes a difference.

The tea smells incredibly smoky and sweetly creamy upon brewing. I was a little hesitant to take a sip as the smoke was in the lead for the aroma. There is a bit of smoky flavor in the taste, but the vanilla and cream really tone it down and make it very enjoyable. I can almost taste that golden brown marshmallow (I learned how to be patient with my marsmallows so they wouldn’t end up charred around the time I graduated college). This is a delicous tea and I would recommend to anyone who is a bit hesitant to try smoky teas. This would be a great introductory tea to enjoy.

Thanks KeenTeaTime for the sample!
