I had this tea when I went to a friend’s house on Halloween. I could get the blueberry taste, but it wasn’t a pleasant fresh taste, but more of an imitation blueberry. As with all other Stash teas I’ve tried, I can only get one decently strong steep from a teabag. It’s definitely not a tea that I would purchase for myself, but it’s not the worst tea I’ve tasted either.

The more tisanes I drink, the more I realize I really don’t care for hibiscus. This tea is decent when it’s hot, but as it cools; my mouth can’t help but pucker in protest at the tartness.

Veronica

I’m not a hibiscus fan either.

sarai

Ditto on the hibiscus. I’ll put up with it if the rest of the tea is something I really like, but overall I find that it tends to ruin things for me.

canadianadia

Agreed. There are very few teas with hibiscus that make my favorites list. In fact, off the top of my head I can only think of one – Davids Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait.

I can see that there are marshmallows in this, but the taste just doesn’t say marshmallows to me. I suspect the medium-light cinnamon spice taste overpowers the marshmallows a tad too much for me to experience the marshmallowiness. It’s still delicious though, and the taste reminds me of a warm home on a cold day

I finished this one today. I’m gonna miss it, but I see that Davids has introduced a new collection- so that should ease the pain. If this one comes back next Fall I’ll be sure to buy another little pouch, but for now I’m looking forward to what’s new.

Cavocorax

The new collection looks pretty good – I wonder what EXACTLY the Cookie Dough one will taste like. (Seems to good to be true)

canadianadia

The cookie dough one is the exact one that I’m most excited about. I have my fingers crossed that it is amazing as it sounds.

Calla

I bought 25 grams of this the other day… still gotta try it out . IM excited and scared to try it out :p. i am dying to try the winter collection, so many of the flavours look exciting.

canadianadia

Calla Toasted Marshmallow was one that had to grow on me a little, I think I was a little disappointed in it when I first tried it, because it doesn’t taste like marshmallows to me. I felt that if I didn’t fixate on the name, and just thought of it as a Fall tea, I enjoyed it so much more. Hope you like it

I steeped this last night, but I fell asleep before drinking it, so I decided to try it cold this morning. It’s pretty good this way also. I think this is the first Tazo tea that I wasn’t completely disappointed with.

Calla

Interesting, I find that I am disappointed with most TAZO teas, so maybe I should give this one a try next time I’m in starbucks.

canadianadia

If you like mint tea, it’s worth a try, it’s not the best, but worth a try. After trying an array of disappointing Tazo teas, this one kind of stands out as being pretty decent in my books. If you try it, I hope you’re not disappointed either.

Does anyone else find it a little Funny that Steepster’s spell-check doesn’t recognize the word oolong?

My tea stash is shrinking! I’m just finishing off the last of my pineapple oolong. I hope at least one of my tea orders arrive in the mail sometime this week, I have a hankering to try something completely new. This oolong has a delicious fresh, fruity pineapple taste. I got a few really good steeps out of these leaves today. It’s one of those teas that tastes great hot or cold. DEEEELISH! I can’t wait to try more DT oolongs.

K S

I didn’t know Steepster had a spell check. Where is it?

canadianadia

It’s a variation on spell check. If you type an unrecognizable word in the text box, it underlines it in red. You can then right-click in that word for spelling suggestions. Another funny thing I noticed is that it doesn’t recognize “Steepster” as a word either ~ lol!

Nik

The spell-check/dictionary is a function of your system/web browser and isn’t specific to Steepster. You’ll find the “red underline” for misspelled words in any text box on any web site. =) You should be able to right-click “Steepster” and add it to the dictionary. http://cl.ly/image/1N2a470Y2P1C

canadianadia

Cool, thanks for the info Nik.

I didn’t care for this one as much when I tried it hot last night, but it was pretty good as a cold drink after this morning’s workout. As with many other fruit-based tisanes, this one was a little more tart than I typically like, but it’s still quite enjoyable. I won’t have any trouble finishing off the rest of what I bought, but I don’t like it enough for it to make my repurchase list.

Last night’s Halloween party was fun. It’s always nice to visit with old friends over delicious food and drinks. One of the hosts totally committed to his costume and shaved his head to turn himself into Mr. Clean! Despite my costume decision-making procrastination, I’m happy with how it came together. Some of my friends even said they didn’t recognize me at first. In the end, I decided to go as a skeleton. Here’s a link to a picture of me in my costume from my Beautylish profile http://www.beautylish.com/f/gcqcax/skeleton?ref=modal

As for this tea, it’s another “unfavorite” done! This tea isn’t bad; it just doesn’t really suit my taste. I haven’t developed a fondness for tea with a strong rose flavor yet. Maybe it’s not for me, or perhaps I just haven’t found the right one?

Nik

The Persian Apple tea has a strong…rose…flavour? That’d throw me for a loop, for sure. o.O

Your skeleton make-up is fantastic. You look terrifying and I love it.

canadianadia

Thanks Nik! It took quite a while to do, but I really enjoyed the process. Halloween is such a great time for me to indulge in my love for make-up.

Helena

I can’t stand flowery drinks (strong rose, lavender, etc…) I don’t mind if they are in a tea I just can’t stand them when they ARE the tea :D so this one would not be for me :D

Invader Zim

Your make-up skills are amazing!

canadianadia

Thanks for the kind words. I’m so glad I found Steepster. I’m on a few interest-based sites like this, but there is something special about the folks here on Steepster. I’m glad my tangents of my personal life and non-tea interests are appreciated here :) United by the common interest of yummy tea

CupofTree

Another one to do face paint cool! Looks awesome!

canadianadia

Thanks CupofTree, yours looks great also. It’s always fun to find Steepsters with other common interests.

I don’t even know how many boxes of this I’ve gone through over the years. It’s not even anything remarkable, just a nice background tea. You know, one of those teas you enjoy enough to keep drinking, but the flavor is nothing noteworthy. For this reason, it used to be one of my favorite teas to drink when I was writing exams in university, it just kept my thirst quenched without being imposing. Like an non-intrusive movie soundtrack.

Last night at the Halloween party I had a few cups of this, and to “party it up” a friend offered some of her alcohol infused chocolate whipped cream to top it off. Wow ~ yum! It’s always nice to find a new spin on something that’s a little mundane.

We’re going to a Halloween party tonight so this seemed like an appropriate choice of tea to finish off today. I still haven’t decided what costume I’m going to wear. I started assembling a few ideas in my head, maybe a raven, or a skeleton, or a dark forest…or…I dunno? I’m usually quite an organized person, with only random spurts of disorganization. There’s apparently something about Halloween that turns me into a last minute person on an annual basis. Every year I say “next year I’ll be more organized” But what do ya know, the party is tonight and all I have are a few abstract costume ideas. Last year I collected a few ideas and assembled some images on my computer. But when I started looking through my box of Halloween makeup and digging through potential costume ideas, the power went out. My battery was dead so I couldn’t access my inspiration photos without electricity, and there was very little daylight to see anything. Thankfully, Halloween is a day that I can get away with dressing and doing my makeup in the dark lol!

Is it just me, or does tea seem to taste better when you know you’re finishing off the last bit of it? What the heck, right? I mean, I liked this tea before, but today it tastes so much better. Like “BUY MORE NOW” better. It’s a nice blend of cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom. None of which I particularly love, but it somehow works in this tea. I knew I enjoyed it, but I figured this would be one that I might suspend repurchasing in the hope that it will be either kept around or brought back next fall. Now I feel like it’s one that I will want to keep a little sample size of in my collection. What’s that about? Hopefully they will have those little sample packs that you can get a deal on by the cash register with this one. That way I can justify a repurchase. Those little pumpkin candies alone almost make buying it again worthwhile. So adorable –they just make me smile.

I better get going; I still have to make an appy to take to the party and then it’s time for the annual Halloween costume box dig :D

charab

Might be the season messing happily with your taste buds, hehe. Enjoy the party!

canadianadia

The season thing sounds very likely. Thanks Charab. I still haven’t decided on my costume. lol

Cavocorax

Ha. That’s funny how it is – making you second guess everything. If you do decide to grab more, better do it soon. (Unless you order online). I stocked up last week when they told me they were pulling it Nov 1st. ’Course, that might have just been a gimmick to stock up on fall reas.

canadianadia

Thanks for letting me know Cavocorax, I better make up my mind soon.

drank Toasted Walnut by DAVIDsTEA

I just finished this one, and I have to say: I’m a little sad to see it go. I thoroughly enjoyed it, although it isn’t an “absolute-gotta-have-it-love” There are so many other types of tea out there that I’ve never tried, so I’m not sure if I can justify buying this one again in too much of a hurry. I’ll have to let my cupboard decide. I’m sure I’ll eventually bring home another sample size of this one…it’s just a matter of when. Good thing Davids Tea isn’t too close to my house, otherwise my wallet would be on a permanent diet and my cupboards would be ‘chubby’ with tea.

Oh! I bought myself a new teapot today from IKEA. It’s simple, inexpensive, and I like it. We’re temporarily living in the house I grew up in (because the hubby and I sold our house this past summer, and are very specific about what we want next). In the meantime, a lot of our stuff is packed up in storage, including my favorite teapot. The one at this house is alright, but it leaks when I pour my tea, and I have to use a separate strainer, which can get a little messy. I wasn’t planning on getting another teapot but I was whipping through IKEA to buy some of their frozen meatballs, when I happened upon this cute little number they call RIKLIG http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/90150071/ for $9.99 it just had to come home with me. I’m using it right now. No mess, no fuss – it’s great! I’m sure it’s all in my head, but I could almost swear that the tea tastes even better with this thing.

Nik

That’s a really cute teapot for under 10 bucks!

canadianadia

Yes, I’m quite fond of it. The glass is a little thin, so combined with my clumsiness I don’t see it lasting too long. It was too cute to resist, and I just need something to hold me over until I can retrieve my old faithful from storage. I love the fact that this new one is clear, I enjoy watching the tea steep, and it makes me want to get some of those flowering teas.

Nik

I was thinking precisely that. I’ve never bought a flowering tea, since I don’t even use a teapot, just an infuser in an opaque mug. But as long as that teapot of yours is still in one piece, I’d definitely rush to get some flowering teas. :D

canadianadia

I’ll have to search Steepster for the one that sounds the most appealing to my taste. Too bad I didn’t include one in my last Teavivre order.

That’s my mug! I’ve never really been a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh, but I like the fact that this mug is more or less clear. Plus, I can’t help but giggle when I say “ewww …I have Pooh on my mug” and people in the room gawk in horror before realizing I’m talking about Winnie. Am I easily amused? heck yeah!

A little something about my interests? – In no particular order, I love tea, makeup, paper crafting (card making), home renovations, and gardening.

As a rule, I tend to drink my tea without adding anything, but if that doesn’t work for me, I indulge in the fact that rules are meant to be broken. Yep! I’m such a rebel…sometimes I even color outside the of lines :P
