Amount: 3 scoops tea for 1 mug (not full teapot)
Time: a little over 5:30 minutes

Served: Hot
Smell: Almond, coco
Flavor: bitter, light
Aftertaste: none

added 1 scoop german rock sugar: took away the bitter but left the tea unremarkable

Added Almond milk – no change to the sweetened tea

next time i want to try longer brewing, maybe some honey? or maybe less brew time.

Preparation
200 °F / 93 °C 5 min, 30 sec

Amount: 2 teabags for 12 ounces of water
Time: 4-5 minutes

Served: Hot
Smell: Strongly of the coconut shell and meat
Flavor: light cocoa with coconut milk taste. MilitiaJim was unable to pick up the cocoa, it was “stomped on” by the coconut
Aftertaste: coconut, sweet

Added german rock sugar, 1 scoop per cup and it really helped smooth the flavor and bring out the cocoa.

Added Almond Milk, didn’t help the tea at all (we love plain black almond milk tea and wanted to experiment). Militiajim notes this makes it smell like an Almond Joy bar.

I want to try in the future with honey, and maybe a 5-6 minute brew time.

I had the Loose Leaf sample size, it was supposed to make 7-10 cups, apparently my teaspoon is too large as it made more like 6

Amount: 4.5 scoops tea to 3 cups of tea (6 ounce cups)

Time: a little over 8:30 minutes (oopse!)

Served: Hot
AmazonV Smell: cinnamon, clove, ginger
AmazonV Flavor: spicy, peppery, medium body

MilitiaJim Smell: spiced cider without the apple
MilitiaJim Flavor: cloves with a hint of ginger

Aftertaste: cinnamon, cardamon

I tried adding honey and lactose-free milk, that calms the spicy after burn

too spicy for me, it was OK with the honey and milk but it’s not going to be a stock tea for me as i’d have to cut it with a less spicy tea

Preparation
190 °F / 87 °C 8 min or more

Bio

I am The Devotea USA. I love caffeine! I prefer tea to coffee. I prefer my flavors to be in your face, not subtle. I plan to use this blog to keep track of the teas I have tried.

I get my daily dose of caffeine from Starbucks (Grande soy no water chai latte).
