151 Tasting Notes
This tea is fantastic. I was looking forward to it after I read the description on steepster before it came out. In the bag it smells like a fruity bubble gum almost. I steeped it up hot and it was nice, but from the first sip I knew it was a tea that was meant to be iced. My next cup, I iced, and I was right, it makes for a beautiful iced tea… I am definitely going to get a tin of this guy to keep around for the summer so I can make pitchers of it… I suspect it will be delicious with Malibu melon rum… and cut up melon chunks for a pitcher of cocktails in the dog days of summer :)
Preparation
I don’t normally like oolong teas all that much. I find them very floral, and strange. I got this one after the sales associate told me it was amazing and to smell it. I instantly loved the creamy sweet smell of it and picked up 50g. I have been drinking it like crazy, as it is the perfect tea for any time of day! I am loving it! I am going to make a pitcher of it iced, and I think I may squeeze some lemon into it.
Preparation
I started off not really liking this one, but the health benefits of it has been plentiful. My friend came to my work in a frantic state because she knew she had a uti and couldn’t get a doctors apt until three days later. I know that cranberry tends to help with this and she was about to drink a bottle of minute maid cranberry cocktail. I told her not to, and gave her this tea instead. It helped alleviate her symptoms and get her through until her appointment. I am now drinking it because I have felt something like that might be coming on and its doing just the trick. I like this tea because the cranberries in it are huge. My only complaint about this one is that because it is a heavier green tea, the actual leaves get overpowered by the cranberry, the star anise and the cinnamon… but all in all, its a helpful cup of tea, that I will be sad to see discontinued. I should mention, I have tried it hot and cold, and I actually prefer this one cold brewed.
Preparation
This tea tastes like heaven. The strawberry flavour is not too sweet, and the rooibos is not too strong. I am surprised because I have not liked too many strawberry teas so far. I have tried sweet strawberry from david’s and found it quite artificial and sweet, and I have tried strawberry shortcake from teaopia and found it not strong enough. This one is a great balance, and it is from a local business, which makes it much better :)
Preparation
I got this in a tea swap from fellow steepsterite Ellyn. I have never tried a tea that is violet based. I was apprehensive at first because I am not a huge fan of floral teas, they have to be extremely specific, otherwise I find them way too pungent and off-putting. I was pleasantly suprised. It is quite mellow, and the black tea comes out strongly within the beginning of the sip but towards the end of the sip, I can taste the floral. I like violet way more than any hibiscus or rose tea I have had as I find it compliments with tea, rather than overpowers it! this was an excellent first venture into a violet tea, and it definitely will not be my last!
Preparation
I got this tea in a tea swap from Ellyn, a fellow steepsterite!…. I was excited about this one, as I love all things that involve Monarchy and England! …. For a black tea, its quite sweet and light. It gives me a nice little kick in the butt to wake me up, but isn’t overpowering, or giving me the dehydrating feeling that strong, straight black teas tend to give me!
