drank After Dark by Tavalon Tea

The more I drink this tea, the more I like it. I’ve always liked chamomile tea for medicinal purposes, but I never liked it enough to just drink it. This chamomile based tea, also has cranberry and sour cherry, which give it just enough interest that I could drink it anytime. And because it is caffeine free, I really can drink it anytime.

Flavors: Cherry, Cranberry

I tried a sample and immediately bought a cup. A sip starts out delicately sweet and then the finish is a warm kick of ginger. Deliciously different.

Okay, I can see how this would not be everyone’s cuppa. But many years ago, I had a friend, who is no longer with us, who used to give me a Russian Caravan tea that was like drinking a cup of smoke. I haven been unable to find anything quite so smoky since, until someone suggested that I try this Lapsang Souchong. I did so today, for the first time, and I was impressed. Although I will not drink it every day, it will satisfy my occasional craving for smoke.

drank Hello Sweetie by Butiki Teas

I just received this tea in the mail and gave it a try. I think I made it a bit too strong, and it may have been a mistake to drink it immediately after the chili that I had for lunch. I got mostly coconut and banana flavor, and I liked it more as I went along. I’m going to try a second steep and see how that works.

Edited to add: The second steep is a bit more subtle and quite nice. The base tea flavor now comes through and it is malty and rich. At some point I will try a bit of sugar in it just to see, although I generally do not sweeten tea.

I just got my first order of Golden Orchid in the mail today. I was dying to see what the highest rated tea on Steepster was like. My first impression is that it is very complex. I got more of a chocolate aroma and a lingering vanilla aftertaste. This is a tea that I don’t think I could get tired of, unlike so many others.

Flavors: Chocolate, Peat, Vanilla

I have an order of this on the way. I can’t wait to try it!

drank Summer Fruits by Tavalon Tea

It is an unseasonably warm Fall day, and I had some summer teas to finish up. This was my late afternoon cup, and it was as nice as I remembered. A nice apricot flavor in a smooth green tea.

This is my “go to” afternoon tea. It is impossible to make wrong. No matter what I do to it, it still comes out tasting good.

drank Cranberry Pear by DAVIDsTEA
100 tasting notes

I took a stroll down to David’s Tea after lunch to sample the tea of the day. Cranberry Pear. It was very smooth, almost creamy, with a fruity aroma. I liked it, but will probably not buy more. It might make a spectacular ice tea though.

Formerly exclusively a coffee drinker—-plain black. But I’ve turned over a new leaf, and now consume tea in the afternoons and evenings. And I love flavored, interesting teas—but I get bored with them quickly, and so need lots to switch around.
