1083 Tasting Notes
This is a very nice breakfast tea. There is a strong crusty bread note that is so good. I can also taste chocolate, and, although I expected it to be stronger, I’m glad it’s not the dominating note because it seems more breakfast-y to me this way. There’s also notes of stone fruit and honey as well as a light floral note at the end of the sip. I was on the fence before about whether there was a dried or stone fruit note.Today it’s stone fruit… something between apricot and cherry. It’s a juicy, fresh taste that weaves around the honey and floral flavors. It all blends together into a lovely medium bodied tea that is nice to wake up to (even if it is a Monday).
Preparation
I made this as an iced tea to sip on while I cooked dinner, and it was so good. The rose flavor works well with the Ceylon base. The light lemon note in the tea pairs with the floral note beautifully, and all of the flavors sparkle and shine as an iced tea. There was no need for sugar since the tea has a light sweetness of its own.
Preparation
I put this in my travel mug and took it out and about with me today. This tea holds up incredibly well in my travel mug. Even after sitting in there for a couple of hours the tea is still full of almond and cranberry flavor, and the base tea remains robust without becoming bitter. Love it.
I’m running super low on this one, and I’m going to be sad when it’s gone. I won’t reorder it until next autumn because I consider this a fall/winter tea, but I won’t hoard it either. There are teas I think I like more because I have the chance to miss having them in my cupboard, so I’ll finish this one up and then look forward to having it back in my cup next fall.
Preparation
Drinking the last of my cold brew of this one. It’s nice and minty, very slightly smoky, and really refreshing as a cold drink. I’m still surprised at the amount of flavor I get out of this tea by cold brewing it. It’s definitely something I’ll do again, and I might even try other Eastern Shore teas a try.
Tea of the morning. Today this tea is full of dark chocolate and baked bread notes. It’s making my mouth very, very happy. While the tea was steeping I smelled a strong hay note, but I’m not detecting it anywhere in my cup. That’s ok though. I’m satisfied sitting here with this tea and enjoying it just the way it is because the way it is is amazingly delicious.
Preparation
I was feeling rather dissatisfied with my caffeine free beverage options this evening until I remembered that I had this deliciously creamy coconut-y treat in my cupboard. Win! Tonight I’m even getting a hint of pastry as the tea cools which adds a fun twist to the tea. It does taste a little bit like coconut cream pie. I kind of want to add cream to my cup, but I’m afraid I’ll lose the pastry, and possibly some of the coconut, flavor that way. That would be a shame, so I’ll just sit here and enjoy this one just the way it is.
Preparation
Even though this is a very nice apple flavored tea I do kind of wish it tasted even a little bit like pomegranate. You know, since it’s called Pomegranate Pizzazz and all. That said, it is still a very decent herbal, and I always enjoy it. The apple flavor is sweet and fruity, and there’s no tart hibiscus flavor. And really… Apple Pizzazz just doesn’t have the same ring to it.
So, this is me finally jumping on the matcha bandwagon. I’ve read reviews for a while now, and I’ve been very curious about it. Unfortunately, I’ve had a couple of really bad matcha experiences (both in restaurants) that kept me from placing an order, but I decided it’s time to give matcha a try at my home where I have control over the quality of the tea I drink.
I tried this hot, and I tried this as an iced latte. The hot tea was incredibly creamy and smooth. There was a cheesecake note, but it wasn’t as strong as I was expecting. Instead, the flavor of the matcha itself really came through, and it was lovely. I’m having a hard time finding words other than ‘clean’ and ‘green’ to describe it. That said, it was a creamy, smooth, green, clean tasting cup that I found super comforting.
As an iced latte the cheesecake flavor really came out. I used skim milk, and I did add two teaspoons of sugar to the 12 oz latte. The result was a wonderfully yummy drink with creamy cheesecake notes. I also liked that I could still taste the matcha even though the flavor wasn’t as easily detected as it was in the hot tea. I can see why this matcha would be fun to add to smoothies and frappes, and I’ll probably do the same once the weather warms. I really liked the cheesecake flavor, and I can see myself mixing it with other flavors in the future just to have some fun (and tasty!) lattes.
I’m still really new to matcha, but I can see myself totally falling in love with it.

This is my running-around-trying-to-get-stuff-done tea. It holds up well in a travel mug with the creamy eggnog flavor coming through beautifully. I like the amount of cinnamon and nutmeg added to the blend. It’s just enough to enhance the vanilla flavor while giving the tea a bit of a kick. Plus, this is a perfect tea for this super cold winter’s day. Brrrrr.
