1083 Tasting Notes
I had this tea before, and I seem to remember not liking it that much. Most likely it was due to drinking it at a restaurant that served the tea with water that was not at the correct temperature. When I made this at home it had a wonderful scent of orange and vanilla, and the taste was smooth – almost creamy. I did not begin to taste the jasmine until the tea cooled, and I found the taste a bit distracting. This is definitely a tea best drunk while hot/warm.
Preparation
This was a gift from a friend. She bought me several loose teas at a shop in Ocean City, NJ as a thank you for babysitting her cat and garden. I wish I had more information about the teas, but the lack of information has not kept me from enjoying them.
This tisane is good. The cranberry is strong with the orange taking the edge off the tartness. It’s a lovely evening drink when I want to relax with a warm cup of tea and a good book.
Preparation
This is why I love Steepster – I never would have tried this tea if I had not read the comments about it. I’ve passed it up year after year because the name did not appeal to me, but after reading the reviews I knew I had to try it. It is wonderful. Wonderful! Perfect for cooler nights. The fact that it’s decaf is a bonus (since actually sleeping instead of running around with a caffeine buzz is necessary at some point).
Preparation
This is the standard tea for iced tea in my house. It does the job, and there is always a pitcher of it in the fridge.
Preparation
My morning pot of tea. The first cup I added milk and sugar. I enjoyed it, but some of the flavor was masked by the sweetness. The following cups I only added milk, and each cup was lovely. I think this is the first pot of tea I have drunk by myself. It is a very good basic black tea. I’m sure once my family figures that out I will not have the pot to myself for long.
Preparation
Comfort in a cup. The white tea is light and refreshing. The mint is dominant, but pleasant. At first, I did not notice the ginger at all, but after several sips I felt it in the back of my throat. It was warm and stayed there well after I had finished my cup.
Preparation
I was at the store today, and I notices that the holiday teas had made their way to the shelves. After looking at all of the selections I chose Christmas morning, and I am glad that I did. It is an interesting mix (Assam, Ceylon, Sumatra, Jasmine green tea, and Keemun) that is easy to drink, and strong enough to be in the “first mug of the morning” category. This could be one of my new favorites.
