249 Tasting Notes
I just can’t get into this one. It does have a lovely lemon pastry scent, but then it just kind of disappoints. I use plenty of tea to make it, but it just has too strong a rooibos flavor and not enough lemon. The particular flavor of this particular lemon is nice with the rooibos, but just too mild. I’m not even sure I would be able to tell it’s a lemon tea if I didn’t know it was. Definitely not what I’d call lemon zest.
Flavors: Lemon, Pastries, Rooibos

After a lot of trial and error, I have concluded that I’ll never find a decaf tea that I love. However, this one is pretty nice. There is a very strong almond flavor and a less strong but present vanilla. The tea just kind of holds it all together and doesn’t have much taste of its own. The aftertaste is really lovely, just clean and like an almond cookie. I do have to steep this longer than it recommends, and if you have more than 8 oz, you probably want to use a second tea bag.

The scent is exactly a spiced cider aroma, and the flavor is pretty similar. I don’t actually get much tea flavor (given that I don’t care for Adagio black in general, that’s probably good), so this tastes like a slightly watered down warm cider. That doesn’t sound appealing, but hot cider has a way of making me gag at the sweetness after more than a couple of sips, so for me, this is nice. I usually use a bit extra when making tea, and I do think this one you need to make absolutely sure you use enough of the “leaf” or it’ll just taste like boiled water.
Flavors: Apple, Cinnamon, Clove
Preparation
I really enjoyed this one. It was the first Adagio oolong I’ve had. I tend to dislike their black teas, so I was a little nervous – but this was a nice solid, if basic, oolong. The vanilla wasn’t overpowering but was definitely present. I actually think I agree with the person who said there was something coconutty about it, but I think it’s more like an added dimension to the vanilla flavor than an actual coconut taste. Also, vanilla in tea makes me taste chocolate, which is probably just a sign of something wrong with me, but hey. I taste chocolate in this one. This was an enjoyable tea – it may not have blown my socks off, but sometimes I actually just want something nice and simple.
Flavors: Chocolate, Coconut, Nutty, Vanilla
This was given to me as a gift, and I’m always dubious of the quality of things in mass produced gift baskets. However, this was a nice surprise. Definitely a blueberry flavor over a smooth black tea. It’s a bit bland somehow, but in a nice way. It’s a tea that I could drink several cups of without really noticing one way or the other what I was drinking. Basically, a nice, inoffensive fruit flavored black tea.

I’m not sure how I feel about this one. It smells one way, tastes another way in the mouth, and has yet a different aftertaste. There is a definite grapefruit peel flavor to this. I don’t actually taste tea, but I kind of feel it is in there because it kind of mellows that grapefruit bitterness. There’s a sweet flavor to the aftertaste. I love grapefruit, and this one does definitely have that bitterness, but it’s still just off somehow. Again, I’ll finish this off but no need for more of it.
Flavors: Apple, Grapefruit
Preparation
I brewed it hot but served it iced. It’s very one dimensional to me, with a weird kind of metallic raspberry taste. I think that might be how I’m perceiving the yogurt pieces? Anyway, I was kind of bummed after all the great reviews, but I’m starting to find that the higher the reviews on Steepster, the less I like it, lol. I’ll finish my 2 oz, but I’m glad I didn’t buy more.
Flavors: Metallic, Raspberry
Preparation
We brew this one with hot water but serve it iced. The aroma is so powerful – my daughter can open a bottle of it while we’re in the car and you almost instantly smell this beautiful creamy, fruity fragrance. There’s something about it that is so thirst quenching. My kids will guzzle this stuff instead of soda, and that’s a good thing. It’s certainly not a sophisticated, refined delicacy – but it’s flat out yummy.
Flavors: Cream, Lime, Raspberry
