769 Tasting Notes
I added some milk to this on the recommendation from one of the other reviews of this tea and it tastes just like caramel apple cider to me. From those powder packets. I added a bit of sugar but still. It smells fantastic but the taste is just okay. Still, a good cup.
I have a couple of single serve bags of this from…somewhere. They came free with something but I don’t remember what. After the Honey Yuzu debacle of this morning, I had higher hopes for this one.
It smells really fruity for something named ‘cucumber mint’. I can definitely taste the spearmint and sorta blueberry and a sort of flatness of the cucumber. It’s an interesting combination but not one I’m interested in drinking again. But it is drinkable at least. There is that.
I’m not sure what yuzu is or what is in this tea to make it so yuck but it is definitely yuck. I couldn’t even finish it. Took about 2 swallows and had to pour it down the drain. Medicinal and something but it is not good.
Preparation
Had this twice in the last 2 days. It still smells absolutely delicious but the taste leaves something to be desired. Undoubtedly because of age. Still, black matcha isn’t bad even if the flavouring is mostly gone. I made it at home and brought it in to work in a thermos for the first time rather than making matcha at work from my limited flavours.
The caffeine burst actually made me productive before 6am, who knew that could happen?
Banana taste was a bit mild but that might be age. I opened this one recently and it sat in my freezer for way too long, but it still quite tasty when made into a latte. Too bad I’m really limited to one of these per day if I want to sleep at night or I might go back for another one.
Well this is definitely an oolong, which I generally don’t like, but I treaterd this one very gently and it is not too bad, all things considered. I really don’t love it though and it is a bit of a mystery why it didn’t go out during the great tea purge of 2017.
Preparation
Sipdown! I probably put a bit too much in this matcha latte I made but I was so close to finishing this that I just dumped what was left into my sifter and hoped for the best.
It frothed up really well considering it’s age. Mint is a flavour that tends to linger and that was true this time too, although the mint was much much milder than originally. Mostly I get very mild green tea flavour. Still tasty and caffeinated but I’m glad to see it go! That means I only have 2 types of matcha at work and I should probably bring in a few more for some variety if I’m going to drink one every morning (which is what I’m trying to do).
This is a sample from…someone from simply ages ago that I’m finally getting around to. It’s in my little box of single serving stuff that I don’t put on my cupboard. It smells delicious and with my new kettle at work I have a liiiittle more control over temperature so hopefully I picked the correct one (it said 200F on the little package so I went with that). Made it in my adorable rabbit teapot and off we go!
Still pretty limey. Almost tastes like lime-ade if I use my imagination a bit. Goes surprisingly well with my lunch of a lemon artichoke quinoa bowl thing. Tasty.
In other news, my DavidsTea order came in the mail but I haven’t had time to open it yet because I’ve been having the week from hell. I might not even open the box until Saturday. It really has been awful. 13 and 14 hour workdays and depression and yuck. I need a weekend desperately.
In other other news, you can now learn Klingon on Duolingo.
Had this again this morning. Much better this time with only half a teaspoon of matcha in a cup of latte. Much more orange and less bitter. I’ve got quite a bit of this left so I’ll be drinking it down. i’ll try not to overwhelm you all with tasting notes about it. Assume I’m having it every morning, I suppose. Every workday morning anyway.
