310 Tasting Notes
The steeped tea smell sweet, a bit bitter, too with a hint of tobacco scent (of the plant, not of cigarettes or cigars, in case anyone was unclear).
In sipping, it has that tobacco scent turned to flavor that wraps around the sides of tongue up into the nose.
It is a bit bitter, especially on the middle of the tongue it feels. The bitterness isn’t great but isn’t terribly off-putting either. It’s not bad, I’m just not sure I like it.
That’s about it… Maybe a faint mustiness to the scent and flavor, too.
Another quality tea I wouldn’t buy more of.
Preparation
So I’ve now tried all of them and only really liked the Blueberry Merlot, all others were “okay” except the Kiwi Lime Ginger which is like drinking Vicks Vapor Rub.
As to the sampler set itself, I liked the easiness of the single-cup pouches. Though, I would ordinarily like two of such size as, unless I get a strong first impression, it takes me a couple cups to tell if I like a tisane. So, since they are single-serve only, my reviews of each are first impression and not fully rounded reviews.
All in all, I’m glad to have had the sampler and to have tried the variety; but only one drink stood out as one I’d buy more of.
Preparation
The dry and steeped tisane smells more like something you’d rub on you than drink.
The taste isn’t far off, either. Not horrible though, but quite strange. I can’t taste any of the fruit in this, just moderated Vicks.
The ginger makes my stomach warm/burn as though I’d swallowed Vicks, too. Not in a good way.
It’s not so bad as to want to spit out, but I probably won’t finish the cup and definitely won’t be buying it.
Preparation
The name “Cherry Cosmo” described the scent of this right… it smelled of red cherries, alcohol and something else I couldn’t place.
The steeped tea is lighter in scent and you can get a hint of the raspberry and what I assume is the hibiscus others have mentioned since I don’t know/recognize that flavor/scent on its own.
The flavor isn’t very mouth-filling… it’s rather watery. It brings to mind cherry Sucrets. It’s also lightly tart. The taste that I’m learning is Hibiscus is rather strong as it cools.
It’s not bad by any means, but not delivering on its name nor that great in general. I’d not bother buying it.
Preparation
Now that I got the safety go-ahead from 52teas, I’m trying this drink.
The scent is very much the name. Dry and steeped it smells like a sweet cinnamon roll.
I’m not sure about the taste. It’s nice tasting, but I’m unsure about the flavor itself; not sure how to describe it.. hmmmm…
It doesn’t have the sweetness the scent does. There’s no real sweetness to the flavor at all.
It has a bready taste mostly around the back of the tongue, but without the yeasty side of bread, if you can imagine that… it’s medium-dark and does have a hint of cinnamon to it.
I’d say it fits its name as is very pleasant, but not a buyer for me. I can see how others would really like this, so will rate it well based on quality because it delivers what it advertises!
Preparation
The steeped scent is mostly spearmint. I can’t really pick up anything else. But it’s pleasant so far.
On first sipping, I’m getting much more mojito than marmalade. There’s no noticeable citrus or sweetness, just a pleasant spearmint flavor.
I was thinking that as it cooled more of the other flavors would come out to balance it, but so far no. I would just rate this as a decent spearmint tea.
Preparation
The steeped scent is very yummy. Blueberry berriness with a strong kick of the sage. It mixes strangely but well.
It’s so far been my experience with most flavored teas and tisanes that, at best, the scent is wonderful but the taste is quite lacking. Not with this.
The flavor is strong and not watery. The blueberry is strong on the tip of the tongue and up around the top of the back of the mouth. The sage is strong but not overwhelming, giving the tea a very tasty zippiness. Each sip fills the mouth pleasantly, leaving nothing of the lacking feeling I get from all but two tisanes I’ve had.
I’d buy more of it.
Preparation
Am glad I came to this page before I drank any. This doesn’t appear vegan safe and there was less info about ingredients on the package than there is here.
Hi. I’m not sure what you’re referring to as far as there being more information here than on the label. I assure you, this tea is 100% vegan. All of the ingredients are properly listed on the label as required by law.
I think I see what you might be referring to. The same information is actually on our website, but when I say, “the essences of butter, brown sugar and cream cheese frosting” I am refering to natural flavors with are actually 100% vegan. I know it sounds strange to have a natural butter flavor that is vegan, but I assure you, it is.
