2810 Tasting Notes
So I have been bonkers busy lately, and my logging has suffered for it. I shall resolve to try much harder in the upcoming months. I do love Steepster!
It seems fitting that my last cup of this, my favorite autumnal tea, should happen on Thanksgiving. For my fellow US Steepsterites, Happy Thanksgiving. For all else, I hope your day is full of warmth and all good things!
For this autumn season, sipdown!
I did not get enough sleep last night, by a long shot. So this morning I am most certainly in a fog, and so I thought I’d try this.
Good choice! A strong breakfast blend. Not so malty or overpowering that you feel like you’ve been whacked in the head, but strong.
Thank goodness. I’m going to need all the help I can get this morning!
The moment the air had even a hint of crispness, I ordered a lot of tea for Harney and Sons, and am now smugly sitting on a small mountain of teas.
This is a new flavor for them, and I tossed it into the cart excitedly. This tea was voted on to determine who would win, and I really liked the tea that won last year (Victorian London Fog), so I had high hopes for this one.
I like breakfast blends, and one with a touch of maple sounds brilliant.
However….. I cant say I taste any of the maple. Its a decent breakfast blend, but I am lacking that punch of earthy sweetness that I was expecting.
Hmm. Well, I’ll keep trying and see what happens.
So, in my “Try new companies” tea goal, I’ve ordered a whole bunch of teas from Plum Delux. This is the first one I’ve cracked into it.
This is a good and strong chai, which is exactly the sort of jolt I needed this afternoon. The base and the spices are hanging out well together for this cup, and I enjoyed it, to be sure.
All finished with this, and just in time. This oolong is best in the summer, and when the weather turns cold I’m all ready to move on to spice and pumpkin and toasty flavors, not the freshness of this melon.
Sipdown!
I plan to place a Lupicia order for my best friend for Christmas. I haven’t ordered anything since the big change in venue. Didn’t they close their US store? I plan to order pretty early to make sure it gets here in time.
I never could get this tea to work for me, which I take full blame for. I’ve always had trouble with blends with Jasmine in them- they go all funny on me nine times out of ten. The tenth is heaven, but I can never get it consistantly to do that.
Oh well. We were simply not to be. Farewell Valiant Vanilla!
Sipdown!
I finished this one recently, and I’m a bit sorry about it.
I liked this! It was a really nice, simple and tasty tea. It was a wonderful Sunday morning tea- gentle and easy to drink when I was bleary and tired.
It may be coming back at some point, we shall see.
But for now a sipdown!
