2810 Tasting Notes
Its been one of those utterly exhausting weeks, with long hours, difficult people, and hot weather
Ugh.
Its in weeks like this that I really appreciate the existence of nicer tea in sachets. Because there have been a few mornings where the thought of loose leaf is just a little too much.
Ugh.
This tea is a light, but well balanced breakfast blend. Not astringent, not bitter, but a little mild. I expected something a little less genteel, honestly, but hey!
Once again, the heat is making it almost impossible to sleep, and today is Monday. Ugh.
So my final cup of this is the fuel for the morning.
I don’t think I’ll buy this again. I know I said this last time, but I think its more probable this time. I like rose teas, but this one seems a little too flat and one note to make it a worthy long term cupboard addition.
Sipdown!
And sipdown!
Another 100 degree day, so this may, once again, be the only cup I can stomach.
This was very nice, but not a repeat blend in the cupboard. I stand by my earlier opinion of Tower of Londons younger sister. A fun brew, but lacking the sophistication of tower.
Current time is 6:30 a.m. Current temprature is 77 degrees outside, 83 in my house, because the world is terrible.
Current (and possibly only) tea is Yume, one of the Lupicia holiday offerings that I like to drink in the summer time.
I am already sweating. I am already uncomfortable. And later today I need to drive a long distance in a car with a wonky air conditioner.
Uuuugh.
Even the soft fruit and rose flavors of this tea will not help, and I sincerely doubt I’ll be able to bring myself to drink more tea today.
So my tin of this has moved to the work desk, which is going to help my consumption of it.
I don’t like this as well as I like the similar Royal Palace. The grapefruit is stronger in this, and I find it less well balanced.
But the flavors are right for a 97 degree day, let me tell you.
And a summer sipdown!
I know Lupicia thinks this is a holiday blend, but I must respectfully disagree. I think its best as a spring and summer tea. The flavors make the most sense that way.
The good/bad thing about Lupicia is that their tins, while beautiful, are not particularly big. But that allows the tea to be enjoyed and not outstay its welcome.
I feel good about this sipdown, as one of my goals this year was to drink my warm weather teas in the warm weather, so I can focus on the fall flavors without guilt. You know, in a million years when fall arrives.
I’m more interested in drinking this down now than the tea itself. Its not a bad blend, but I’ve had better rose teas, and when this is sipped down I won’t bring it back.
Of course, I said that after the last tin I had, and look where we are now, so I obviously cannot be trusted.
