181 Tasting Notes
Tea & Cards TTB
Absent-mindedly brewed this one up after a long day at school…I’m actually rather impressed with this cup.
The white chocolate is there, but it’s not overwhelming – it adds a smooth, sweet-ish note over the white tea base (which is actually a tiny bit bitter, but not obnoxiously so) and contributes to the overall nutty mellowness of the cup. I’ll admit that I like the aroma a bit more than the taste, but I think that’s more due to the head cold I’m dealing with than any failing in the blend.
Overall it’s nice enough, but I don’t know if I’d buy it in the future.

Oh, boy…I’m a fan of this. There’s a great, smooth – almost buttery – note from the tea that layers in under the creamy coconut flavours. The mouthfeel is also buttery and lingers for a comfortingly long while; it’s the perfect sort of thing to sip while doing emails and puttering around on the computer.
It almost reminds me of freshly-baked shortbread cookies in all the best ways. Delicious, addictive and all kinds of wonderful…I’d drink as much of it as I could wrangle up. :)

…ick. There’s not much flavour to this tea – just an odd banana-ish note hiding behind a tongue-wrecking heat and spice. In fact, I think the only nice thing I can say about this tea is that my cats are showing no interest in it (and they’re usually sneaky little tea-sippers).
Down the drain it goes, I’m afraid.

Steeped about 9min, since the slider doesn’t go that far.
This one smells like a chai, looks a bit like a chai…but it doesn’t quite taste like one. It’s peppery and hot, but the spice seems a little one-dimensional and didn’t make a real impression on me. Overall I’d have to say that this one comes across as being rather harsh and unpleasant.
Not one I’d drink again, sadly.

I was pleasantly surprised by this tea…there’s a subtle caramel smoothness that goes along with the mellow, woodsy oolong notes. It’s not an overly complicated drink, but it goes down easy and lingers in your mouth in a way that’s comforting and rather enjoyable.
I’m not sure if I would buy it for myself, but it is tasty and I could see it going well with a nice dish of Singapore noodles or something all curried and tasty. Gods, now I want takeout…

Dry this tea has an intense caramel aroma that basically assaults you when you open up the bag. I was expecting it to be a little more subtle once brewed, but after a quick 3 minute steep the caramel is so thick and cloying that you can’t really get to the black tea flavours in behind it.
The positive aspects of the caramel come out best in the aftertaste – it’s smooth and lingers all over the inside of your mouth – but there is a bit of a slimy mouthfeel left over that I find rather unpleasant…and I think that would keep me from buying this again.

Made a cup of this for my morning microbiology exam and it was delightful…I just resteeped, so this is a hybrid sort of review.
I love the fruity, honeyed tones that overlay the robust black base. It’s a solidly delicious tea that was equally tasty as breakfast as it was in the evening…it’s smooth with a lingering sweetness that makes it quite enjoyable.

As far as Earl Grey goes this one is actually rather solid, albeit a little boring. The bergamot plays a second fiddle to the quality black base in a way that’s comfortingly normal, but wouldn’t win any awards with my tastebuds.

Oh, another pastry tea…this one smells delightfully tropical in the bag and picks up interesting aromatic notes post-steeping. It smells nothing like I remember pineapple upside down cake being – but I was a terrible baker, so that says more about my cakes than this tea.
Upon tasting I’m mainly picking up hints of candied pineapple layered over that yeasty-pastry black tea note that Della Terra does so very well. It’s a delicious dessert-ish tea that would go equally well first thing in the morning or as a comfort cuppa after a long day…
Tasty tea and one that I really appreciate. I’m less-likely to buy this one since I’m quite smitten by Blueberry Crumble…but it’s a good tea nontheless and I’d happily have another cup in the future.
