73 Tasting Notes
When I went to David’s tea yesterday with the intention of trying new samples, I had to add this one to my choices. It doesn’t LOOK so good. But wait until you steep it. It has a strong taste of blackcurrant and that’s about it. It tastes what it announces. My boyfriend said it tastes like antibiotics or cough syrup. Ahah! Well, maybe I gave him too much tea in his teaball, because he liked my cup better. So just be careful of not adding too much of it, the recipe should do. If I would buy again? Sure!
Okay 2nd of today’s new samples! Well, I cheated. You could taste it for free at David’s tea today. They made it cold and it was good, so I bought some. I don’t have much to say about it, except that it tastes pretty much what it announces; apple pie (or apple sauce, because there’s isn’t any crust taste ahah… okay). No, seriously, it’s good and the taste is not too much, it’s light, but still strong enough to be present. I like it and I’m thinking of buying more next time.
Preparation
I went shopping at David’s today because I wanted to try some new samples. I got out with 8 bags of 25g: Coco Lemon Thai, Mom’s apple pie, Sugar and spice, Currant affair, Orange blossom, Happy Kombucha, Mago Lassi and, of course, Honey Bee. It’s the first one I tried.
Sooo.. Since we have a water distributor at work, I always use it to make hot water. The temperature is 73 C so that’s how hot i steeped it.
Sooo.. Since we have a water distributor at work, I always use it to make hot water. The temperature is 73 C so that’s how hot i steeped it.Overall, I liked this tea. It tastes a little like when you are sick and you drink plenty of hot water with lemon and honey – because it’s so good – both of those tastes are well present in the cup. So yup, it’s a nice one. Am I gonna buy again? I may. It will not be a MUST in my collection, though, but I don’t regret buying it since I enjoyed it.

Preparation
Sooooo today is the beginning of a new love story: me and that tea. Only the two of us. Sometimes we will include a friend or the boyfriend, maybe the mom or the cousin. Once brewed, it has a hell of a smell. A fruit perfume seducing everyone around. And a taste…! I shared it. Someone wanted the second brew. Why not? Pink, fruity, lovely.
Preparation
Here again, I was a little disappointed because I expected a fruity tea. Okay, it IS fruity, but very sightly. So I tried it once without adding anything and a second time with honey. I prefered without anything, but the honey in it tented to make the lemon taste last longer in mouth. That’s how it appeared to me though. I will maybe try it iced and edit.
Preparation
I tried the tea 2 times and, unfortunately,I don’t find it really tasty. I taste the white tea well, but that’s about it. Maybe I should put more tea in my teaball? I was expecting a fruity tea and it’s not what I’m getting. What do you guys do for it to be tasty??? I’m still giving an okay note (60), because the it is not bad, but it’s really not what it announces. In my case, at least…
I will try again with more tea in the teaball and update the note.
Edit
8 months later we are. I find myself looking at my tea collection to see which ones I’m not gonna keep. My mother loves tea, but she doesn’t mind about the fruity taste. As long as it tastes tea. In my case, I don’t really like the taste of tea alone. I prefer when it’s flavored. So when I buy a tea and I find a lack of fruit, flower, chocolate (or whatever kind it is) flavor, I give it to my mother.
Anyway, back to the story. So I see this tea in my collection and I think about why I didn’t like it at first. I was expecting a lot of fruit flavor and I was disappointed. Having lowered my expectations a lot, I decide to try this tea with, in mind, the idea that I won’t like it more than before. THE-DISCOVERY. It’s good! I caught myself driking it again and again. Since I wasn’t expecting all that fruity flavor anymore, I wasn’t disappointed. The fruits are there, but just slightly. That’s okay for me now. I will boost the note because I think it deserves it. In fact, I’m giving it a 90.
Preparation
I just tried this mate for the first time and I tried it iced (double recipe, then pour on ice in a stainless bottle and shake: instant iced tea). I wanted to add honey, but I was in a hurry so I didn’t. Not surprisingly, this mate tastes what it announces: raspberry and lemon… raspberry lemonade! True, the lemon taste is a bit artificial, but it adds a little pep to it. And the raspberry taste is very good. It’s like a good cocktail, without the alchool and all the sugar. I definitely buy this.
Preparation
Ooooh, I must say this blend is something! They send it free when you order via website, so I got 1 oz of it and I wish I’ve gotten more! I find it delicious and very fruity. The rock sugar adds something, even if I’m not the add-sugar-in-my-tea person. Maybe I would’ve taken a bit less of the rock sugar in it, but it’s still very good. I added a bit more tea in my tea ball than the suggested recipe and it was perfect.
Preparation
For honeydew melon lovers. To me, this tea tastes lemon and it’s sour side at the start, then something I’m not sure about, then honeydew melon at the end. I like honeydew, so I like this tea. I never ate goji berries, so maybe the taste I’m not sure about is actually the goji?! It’s the first time I drink this tea today, so I can only tell about its taste when it’s hot. I should – and absolutely will – try it cold.
Flavors: Honeydew
At first, you see a creamy pink tea with little white pearls floating on top of it. Then, you taste it and – oooh – what an interesting taste! I love it :) It’s sour, because of the rhubarb, and sweet. It’s always good to have a cup of it, anywhere, anytime! Drink it hot and let it steep for many minutes. I may try it cold and update the note sometime :)
