A beautifully stunning, complex tea. Smells softly of vanilla and something floral (like cornflowers, not jasmine) and sweet. I love this tea. Love like a delicate flower that isn’t too cloying and sweet, yet still magically dances in the breeze joyfully.

Yes, it’s that good.

Never underestimate the power of junky tea!

I love this stuff, but I also know it’s one of those junky, cheap teas that I can find whenever I’m in Canada… usually. I totally forgot about it until I saw it on sale at a local store, and HAD to grab it.

Yes, I drink this like water. Yes, it’s cheapo tea. Yes, it’s worth every penny.

Okay, not my favorite. I hoped, after smelling it, that I could learn to love this… c’mon, it’s Palais des Thes. But the scents of jasmine and bergamot… nope, nope, nope. Just not my thing. Maybe, possibly, on their own… yea, no.

This might be lovely for someone that loves these flavors in their tea – and thus why I keep on giving this to an ex who LOVES blergamot.

Received another sample box from Palais des Thes because my original RedditGift got lost in transit – and then arrived four months later. So, expect more of these reviews in the next few months.

I used to love red rooibos, then hated it, now I rarely drink it. Until now.. this tea is absolutely divine. I’ll seek this out again – sadly, it was just a sample in a RedditGifts “extra” gift.

Lots of caveats with this one – it needs sweetener, it’s much better when cooled, there’s zero ginger that I can taste (and I LOVE ginger), the peachy-ness is the best of the teas I’ve tried so far.

As the other tea in this collection that I’ve tried so far, it smells divine. This one though, I didn’t sit with and smell too much before brewing – I didn’t want to be disappointed.

Hot, I didn’t like it too much, it tasted odd and artificial. Cooled and sweetened, it’s a cup of peachy goodness, and quite lovely.

Steeped DAVIDs Perfect Teaspoon (2.5 tsp) of tea in 8 oz of water for 3 minutes in boiling water, and then let it cool 15 minutes at room temperature.

Holy nostrils Batman, this tea smells even better than expected. Peachy cream popsicle. I wish I had smell-o-vision at the moment so you could all enjoy this.

Long, leafy, unbroken tea leaves with lots of cornflowers and safflowers in the mix (I LOVE teas that incorporate these two). The smell though, gosh, that smell. I want to bathe in it and then wear it as perfume.

The flavor is robust, although not very peachy without some form of sweetener. I wish it tasted as good as it smelled – alas, I think that’s impossible.

Still, it’s got a good cream element to it (almost ice cream -like). The peach doesn’t come through as much as I’d like, but I’ve found it really tricky in tea to match peach well.

Must try iced, I have a feeling it’ll be stellar and the peach will shine then.

I should note as well that the customer service with this company was impeccable. They reached out, followed up, made sure there weren’t any shipping or duty issues, and were available pretty much 24/7 to answer any questions that I had.

The duty bit was particularly impressive; while they offer free shipping within the US, I was in Canada at the time of this tea testing. They shipped it and ensured there were no duty or taxes owing. Considering another company sent their package COD (and received on the same day, with no warning it was COD), I’d say this was a win all around.

Used DAVID Tea’s “perfect teaspoon” (2.5 tsp) in 12 oz of water, heated to 200F and steeped four minutes.

I must figure out how to get this tea to the rest of Canada. No, the rest of the world.

I would drink it every day, several times a day, if I could. It’s that amazingly good. Yes, it needs some form of sweetener to bring out the ooey gooeyness, but otherwise, it’s perfect.

Enough gushing, I’m off to figure out how to spread its deliciousness.

Day Two of testing teas from Love Chai, and I decided to make another cuppa this. Today, I’m enjoying it more, but it’s still not my favorite chai.

Some things I noticed today that I completely missed yesterday:

- it’s made with the Queen of Assam tea from Love Chai, which I LOVE (just tried that on its own);

- the cinnamon is so present because there are huge chunks of cinnamon bark in it (straight cinnamon bark, too, which was odd yet lovely)

- everything in this tea is BIG. Meaning, no small, dry, brittle pieces of anything. It all seemed luscious, fresh, high-quality.

- It smells amazing as it steeps, and it’s really pretty to watch as the huge tea leaves unfurl.

Still, having said all that, it’s not my favorite. I’m not sure if it’s the big spice pieces. I find I enjoy the flavor of a chai more when the spices get muddled somehow, ie the oils of the spices get into the tea leaves prior to steeping.

Again, might just be a personal preference for flavor, although I did really like the big chunks of everything.

I wanted to love this – and I do LOVE LOVE LOVE the base tea – but it’s just not signing for me.

Package suggested 3g of tea per 200mL of water, no temperature suggestion other than “hot water”, andsteep for 3-5 minutes. I used a DAVIDs Tea “perfect teaspoon” (2.5 tsp at the time I bought it) in 16 oz of water, heated to 200F, steeped for 4 minutes.

This is freakishly yummy.

First, opening the bag delighted me – huge, long, unbroken tea leaves. Yay! My favorite. I don’t know why, other than maybe it’s fun to watch (and I find, delicious to drink).

Then, I had a sip. And another. And another…. you get the point. I gobbled this up like salted chocolate. (Put that in front of me and I inhale it).

Less malty than the Premium Assam Love Chai sent me, more chocolaty and rich, a touch thicker, sweet on its own but better with a touch of sweetener.

I could easily carry this around with me all over the world, it’s that good.

I understand why it’s called Sweet Chai – the fennel – but I’d say this is more cinnamon than anything else. I do get the smoothness from the cardamom (which I love), and the tea is strong and malty. Still, there’s something about the fennel… I want it less present, more in the background. Even with the strong cinnamon at the forefront of my sip.

I’ll steep this again tomorrow to give it another go, I feel like I didn’t do it justice.
