335 Tasting Notes
I made a big 32oz iced tea out of this for my day at work. It was quite nice, a better Earl Grey, for sure. It’s the right amount for flavoring, not too much, and not to little. I like the black tea in this. The last Earl Grey was a little astringent and brisk. This was a lot smoother.
I prefer Earl Grey mixed in chocolate…mmm if you make chocolate truffles, steep some Earl Grey in your cream. It’s quite good!
Preparation
I really love TG’s herbal teas. They come in cute little paper brown bags. This is my first lemon balm base tea. It’s a lighter tasting tisane, verses the other herbals I have had from them. I think next time I will put more to brew. It’s a grows on you kinda tea. It’s not overly floral, with all the flowers in the blend. They are definitely in the background. The mint isn’t overpowering, very mellow and balanced.
This tea screams SPRINGTIME!
I am really liking this iced.
Preparation
I kind of wished I didn’t dump my whole sample to make iced tea! This would of been amazing warm with some cream! Anyways, being iced, it’s naturally honey sweet and yummy. The dry leaf has such a big pungent honey smell. I didn’t get much pear, which is a shame. I bet this would be tasty brewed in pear juice. There’s a little pear in the background, though. And when I burped! :) I bet this tea would be awesome in sweet tea, too.
It didn’t rebrew again, it was pretty weak, but drinkable.
Preparation
This makes a tasty iced tea. I love the tea base in it, the green comes out quite nicely. The flavoring blend is a nice balance with mint. I would of liked more vanilla. I resteeped it only once, and it stood it up quite nicely, no vanilla though.
Preparation
Roasty toasty goodness. Anyone who has roasted nuts in the oven, this tea has that taste. I got this iced at my local TG shop. A little sencha astringency. I think this is as good as SpecialTea’s genmaicha, but not as good as Den’s, which I think is truly the best.
Very nice strong flavored tea.
I usually hate English Breakfast, more of an Irish Breakfast fan. I always find it too astringent and bossy in my taste buds.
This is the best English Breakfast I’ve had, even though I am not a fan of the style. It’s smooth, brisk, and strong.
Preparation
This is some bright green dry leaf. This sencha was great with the sushi I was eating. Lightly grassy, no astringency. It has a nice aftertaste.
This tea nicely resteeps 2-3 times. I can’t remember how many times I did it. I loved the 2nd resteep. I am fairly satisfied with this tea. I wouldn’t buy it, but it’s a likable sencha.
Preparation
This is pretty good bottle tea verses others in your average 7-11. Nothing will beat fresh brewed tea. It’s like comparing boxed cookies to mom’s fresh under baked, soft, warm cookies. I used to drink this more. It’s a-okay for a convenience item, though I can’t honestly remember the last time I drank it!
I went here when I was on travel for work. There was a menu for it at the hotel, and it sounded good. What I had to eat wasn’t good at all, but this isn’t yelp! so I won’t go onto that part much. But what about the tea?
It was refreshing, but very lacking. I like a longer brew, and this didn’t have it. Shame shame. Are they sure it’s world famous? Maybe it was an off day? Maybe the worker hasn’t grasped the art of sweet tea making. (It is an art!)
This is a Northerner’s take on a Southerner’s specialty. I need a traveling teapot so I can just make my own! If you are ever in Atlanta, and want some great sweet tea, go to Folks. Their tea is just perfection…
