This one comes from a small tea shop in my small town. The owner is super nice and very passionate about tea. He created a whole “line” of blends and each of them was named after a region or a special place in the province of Quebec, which I think is quite nice.

This one is named after some mountains. It was one of the first loose leaf teas I’ve ever tried, so it holds a special place in my heart. I don’t enjoy it as much as I used to because I’ve tasted so many amazing teas since then, but I still like it, especially in the morning.

I don’t know about all the ingredients, but it smells very fruity, mostly like berries, and every time I drink it I think of blueberries. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be blueberry-flavoured, but that’s what I get with a strong black tea base. It’s nice, but not unforgettable.

Backlog from last night. It was my last cup of the day, just before I went to bed. I didn’t care much for the smell which reminded me a lot of Forever Nuts (I’m one of the few who doesn’t like it THAT much… I could easily live without it) with more cinnamon. I received it as a sample with one of my orders and I wouldn’t have bought it for myself but I was very curious to try it.

Anyway in the end I kind of enjoyed it. My friend had a cup of Forever Nuts at the same time so I could compare the two. It is quite similar I think, and both are OK but not favorites of mine. The taste of this one made me think of like an apple pie with a lot of cinnamon. I enjoy homemade apple pies and apple crumbles very much, but I’m very picky when it comes to apple and cinnamon flavoured stuff. I guess that’s why I’m not such a big fan of this.

Anyway it was still nice before going to bed yesterday :)

Ok so my teeth hurt like hell. I went to the dentist on Tuesday and it was my first time having “white fillings”. Apparently, those hurt way more than the old ones I had. I’ve been told the pain could last for about a month. WHAT!? Gosh. I hope they are wrong because it’s been horrible so far. Every time I eat anything it hurts, and it’s very sensitive to cold and hot… So drinking tea is way less enjoyable. I hate dentists.

Anyway… I like this tea, but I’m still a bit disappointed every time I drink it. I was hoping for more raspberry and less coconut, instead I got lots and lots of coco and not much raspberry. Oh, well. It’s still good, but I rarely crave it. I think I need more fruity options in my cupboard !

What I like a lot about this tea though is the creaminess. I bet it would make an amazing iced tea but with all the snow and the cold up here I really don’t feel like drinking cold beverages. I’m waiting for spring :)

Yvonne

Ouch! :( Dentists are no fun. I wish you lots of pain meds and tea to help you through :(

Roswell Strange

I feel you on the tooth pain – just got back from the dentist myself, and things aren’t looking like they’re going my way…

Meliboum

Tooth pain is the worst :( I hope things get better for you too Roswell Strange… what’s the problem with your teeth ?

drank Santa's Secret by DAVIDsTEA

I never really know what tea to drink in the morning because I always feel it’s too sweet or not enough caffeine or I just don’t feel it fits. Santa’s Secret is one of my absolute favorites and this morning I thought : why not? Let’s try it. It’s quite sweet, yes, but it’s also mint and for me, mint is great all day long. Plus it always gives me a nice energy boost.

And you know what ? It fits perfectly this morning ! :)

I don’t know exactly what this tastes like, but I like it very much. It smells fruity but tastes mostly very tart (from the hibiscus I suppose), but I’ve come to realize I’m one of the few who really like hibiscus. At least I guess so because every time I read comments saying “this is too tart, hibiscus ewww” I’m like “oh this one’s nice”. I guess it’s not very surpriing as I loooove sour candy.

Anyway so it is very tart but also sweet, and I get a note of cinnamon at this end of the sip which is quite nice. I don’t know if I’d buy it again but for now I’m glad I have a 50g bag.

Yvonne

I’m the opposite – can’t stand hibiscus! But I’m glad you liked this tea :)

Meliboum

If we ever swap, you could send me the hibiscus teas you can’t stand and I would send you my rooibos and choconut oolong – I know it’s one of your favorites and I don’t like it too much haha ;)

Oh god, what a nice surprise !

I had tried to mix Peppermint Amour with Pure Chai a few days ago and I thought it was really interesting. Now this… this is amazing ! The peppermint was a bit overpowering but the spearmint is just perfect. I put one tsp of each and I can taste as much spicy chai as mint. Perfect balance and perfect combination, I love it ! Everything’s better with mint (well, almost everything…)

I’m actually thinking about buying more Pure Chai even though I don’t enjoy it that much just to be able to make more of this blend. Wow.

drank Chocolate Orange by DAVIDsTEA

Chocolate and orange have to be one of my absolute favorite combinations ever, way up there with mint and chocolate.

So the first time I smelled it, I fell in love. Like many have said, it smells just like Terry’s Chocolate Orange. And I love orange-flavoured chocolate.

So, this tea. It was my very first try at pu’erh and I was a bit worried as I’ve heard it sometimes tastes fishy. Once brewed, this tea does have a bit of a fishy smell, but I can’t taste it. All I tasted is orange and chocolate and I’m happy :)

I want to love this tea so much.

I read all the nice comments and I want to love it ! But every time I try it I end up being disappointed. The dry leaf smells so amazing, very juicy, very fruity, very sweet, exactly how blueberry jam should smell and taste!

But the tea itself tastes watered down. I don’t taste nearly as much blueberry as I would like. Plus this morning I think I oversteeped it. I let it sit for a while longer, hoping that would bring more blueberries, but in the end it seems to have made them disappear altogether. I can barely taste them. All I taste is the black tea base. Not as appealing.

Does anyone have any particular suggestion to bring out the blueberry flavor ? I have only about a cup worth of leaf left and I really want to love it before it’s all gone, lol !

Where’s the licorice ?

I don’t smell it, I don’t taste it. I don’t understand.

According to the name and the description, this is supposed to taste like licorice candy. Either I’m confused about what licorice is supposed to taste like or this tea doesn’t live up to its name. I love licorice and I was hoping for a licorice fix tonight. Not going to happen :(

I have no idea what it tastes like. The only thing I know is that it’s not licorice. And it’s not good either.

Yvonne

I have a feeling my dad would love this, even if the licorice isn’t dominating. He can taste licorice in things that don’t even have licorice :P And he adores it.

Meliboum

I would happily send the whole 50g bag to your dad lol ! He would probably taste it because based on the comments I found here on Steepster most people do ! Not me :(

Yvonne

If you want, I can send you my shipping address :P

Mmmm… such a soothing, yummy treat tonight :)

It’s so minty and sweet and creamy. I wish I could taste more of the white chocolate though, but that’s ok. It’s still pretty tasty.

Yvonne

How yummy!

Meliboum

yes ! :)

Bio

I’m quite new to tea. Like many people, the tea brand that got me started into loose leaf tea was Davids Tea. It was about 2 or 3 months ago. My first try was Pumpkin Chai and I was blown away.

I started mostly because I was looking for something that would satisfy my sugar cravings without all the calories, and also for the health benefits. I soon realized the world of tea was way larger than what I originally thought, and I’m glad I’m now a part of it !

I’m way intense when I get into something, so I bought too many kinds of loose tea leaf, trying to figure out which ones I would like best… So far, I mostly enjoy flavoured black, green or oolong teas. Anything floral, fruity, minty or sweet is great. I like dessert teas and also enjoy chai teas. The only thing I can’t stand is rooibos. I’ve tried several blends and I had to either give them away or put them in the trash.

Other stuff I’m into include traveling, language learning, TV series, yoga, Harry Potter, reading, writing, eating too much and hiking.
