Yesterday this was a surprise in my mailbox thanks to the eternally sweet MissB. This is a great tea, and unique! I have been thinking about this review and struggling with how to describe it. If you had asked me to tell you what I tasted, I doubt I could have come up with buttermilk. But I also watch Top Chef and they do those blind taste test challenges and often fail so it makes me feel better.

Bit, there is a really interesting buttermilk aftertaste that lingers. I don’t know how they did it, but they did. It also has a very silky mouthfeel that suggests a milky texture. The lemon is there, but not tart. It reminds me of a lemon custard. I wonder if it would sell better with that name?

I do think this one is a keeper.

Edit: I keep changing the amount of tea I used to 1.5 tsp, and when it saves it shows 1…

Preparation
1 tsp 11 OZ / 325 ML

yeah all of mine seem to do that too when I try to put 1.5 tsp.

Cheri

It doesn’t allow partial teaspoons, and it truncates instead of rounding.

Tealizzy

Lemon custard also sounds delectable. Mmmm!

MissB

I just write the decimal places in my comments so that I can look at a later time to see what I did, if it’s being truncated.

So glad you liked the tea though! I’d say that everything I’ve tried from TG has been a winner.

Bio

Mom of two practically grown girls, extremely happily married to a man who is amused by my obsession with tea, and company owner who works from home. Life is good.

Likes/dislikes: I love black teas, especially strong/malty ones. I am ok with flavored teas if the base is strong. I like some whites. I really don’t like any tea that tastes “green” – if I wanted to drink something that tastes like green beans, I would cook some green beans. I am not big on green teas or genmaichas. I am learning to like puerhs.

If we are trading, I have a STRONG aversion to coconut, banana and licorice. I love citrus, vanilla and spice. Not a fan of florals.
