268 Tasting Notes
My oldest tea mixed with my other oldest tea, chamomile. I don’t mind either of these, but prefer them mixed. It is a neat indication that I have come at least a small way in my journey with tea. That I now know that there are unlimited options and that I don’t need a bunch of chamomile! I don’t think I will re-stock either of these, at least until I stop trying so many new teas all the time!
Preparation
Thought I would use this entry as I do not know how to put the Mystery Tea #2 from Butiki in my cupboard. Yes, I am just now getting to this!!! I have been away since it came in the mail :(. It was a difficult time being away from my tea stash. But we are now reunited and it is time to get back in my routine, which includes LOTS of tea :D
I’ve never seen a tea like this! It looks almost bead-like and it’s tiny. My assumption is that it’s black tea. The smell is amazing, raspberry is the only scent I can place. There is another scent that is complementing it beautifully. Brewed, this isn’t as appealing although still berry-ish. My suspicions of this being a black tea were confirmed as I needed to add sugar to it, and then a little more sugar. There is still a little bit of bite in the back of the throat that I don’t really care for. Overall, I think this could be a decent morning tea for me, as it is mostly pleasant.
Preparation
I have been stuffy since I got home! I have so many new teas to try but I don’t want to miss out on the flavors of them as I can barely smell. I knew I needed something to help me get up and go, this cold is zapping my energy. Black tea it is! I chose this one because I am able to get more easily from The London Tea Room. Last time I had this, I remember not being too sure about it as there are not many black teas I enjoy.
From what I can smell of the leaf, it makes me think I should love it. The first sip makes me think that I underleafed it, it seems watery. With the second and third sip, something is there but not vanilla or currant. Added some sweetener. That’s better. I think the black base is still a bit too strong for someone who usually drifts towards greens but some of the other flavors are coming out to play now. I will finish what I have but I am unsure of restocking. It is a nice cup of something different, just not something every day for me.
Preparation
This is an old sample from a swap a while ago. It brews up a sort of golden-yellow. I get a light taste of blueberry with an even lighter taste of the pineapple, very pleasant. This could be very good iced for the summer that seems so far away. It almost cures my sweet tooth tonight.
