This was another unique flavor combination that I just had to sample! I kind of expected the rose flavor to take over everything, but there’s definitely a nice buttery shortbread note going on here. I’m so sad that AQTT has gone on hiatus, because Lauren’s blends are brilliant!

I love discovering new favorite teas in traveling tea boxes, but I also love the opportunity to sample blends that I never would have found or purchased on my own. Even if I don’t love everything I try, it’s super fun to experience new flavor combinations! On that note…I grew up eating fresh mulberries every summer off the mulberry tree in my best friend’s backyard, but I’m not sure I’ve ever tried a mulberry tea. I was also intrigued by the fact that this one was a genmaicha…not a combination I ever would have thought of. Unfortunately, I didn’t really get much mulberry flavor from this blend, but it was a nice sweet, nutty genmaicha!

I’m not usually the biggest fan of roasted oolongs, but this one is nice! A good balance of the nutty roasted notes with the honeyed floral flavor of the tea itself. The finish is super smooth and not at all drying. This one may be staying with me!

What a unique blend! I was disappointed by my first couple of sips, but the flavors really began to pop as my cup cooled down. Passionfruit is definitely the dominant element, but I’m getting hints of dark chocolate from the cacao nibs and a little spicy kick in the back of my throat thanks to the cayenne. It is just a bit drying, which I don’t enjoy, but otherwise a fun flavor combination and a nice change of pace.

This is nice…smooth, sweet, and fruity. Honestly, I wasn’t 100% sure exactly what kind of fruit this was supposed to be until I read the description, but I do sort of get cherry from it now that I know I’m supposed to. :) Nothing super special or memorable, but I enjoyed it!

I was compelled to try this blend based on the lovely dry leaf, filled with bright red peppercorns and flower petals. Unfortunately, the lapsang souchong is overwhelming whatever other flavors are present. I don’t get whiskey and I don’t get fig…just smoke and an unfortunately bitter and drying black tea. Not a fan.

Bummer. I was really hoping it was just me with this blend. I love most everything from Gnat and Bee, but this one was not a favorite for me. Still keeping my fingers crossed that someone else might enjoy it down the line.
I’d never even heard of Gnat and Bee! It was fun to add a new tea company to my list even though this particular blend wasn’t for me. :)
Her Chroning tea is my favorite, but they haven’t carried it for a while. If you ever see that one, grab it quick!

I love AQTT and I love cheesecake, so I was super excited to try this blend! Unfortunately, this one fell flat for me. I didn’t get any caramel or cheesecake flavor…just a generic mixed berry black tea. I do like AQTT’s berry flavor, but wanted more from this tea based on the name.

What an interesting tea! It’s a roasted oolong (which I’ve had before) but one with a very strong floral note that clashes with the earthier aspects in an interesting way. It’s sort of like you’re consuming the whole flower, including the dirty roots! (Which isn’t a very appetizing mental image, come to think of it…) I’m also finding it a bit drying at the end of the sip, not smooth and creamy like the oolongs I love. Personally, this isn’t really to my taste and I wouldn’t drink it again, but I’m glad I had the chance to try it!

I’ve been curious to try this one for quite a while, so I was excited to see it in the tea box! Unfortunately, it was a bit of a letdown for me. I really didn’t get a “cake” vibe from it at all. Hot, it was just a raspberry black tea. As it cooled, I did start to notice a creamy aspect towards the end of the sip and a lingering vanilla aftertaste. Pleasant, but I wanted more!
