This is the first yellow tea I’ve tried. It’s very mild and would be great when my tummy isn’t fond of anything strong. Like others, I’m not so sure about fruity notes, but it’s smooth and yummy all the same.

Steepster advised a quick wiff of the dry leaves before brewing, and I’m already impressed. The smell and taste is very familiar. It reminds me of a Ceylon Orange Pekoe I tried once, but much better (less burnt and more… yum). It’s rather smooth, and sweet—I think I’ll skip the sweetener the second cup, and I have quite the sweet tooth. I could see this becoming a staple tea for me! =3

Diving into my Steepster box today, and it presents an interesting idea (at least to me): tea with food! Tea has always been a stand-alone thing for me, so sitting down with it at a meal is novel. :) I happened to have a bit of leftover steak with mushrooms and onions, and figured I’d girly it up with a hot cup of tea! The steep time is really short—just 1.5 minutes. I have no way to check my water temperature, which recommends 205 degrees, so I just heated it to boiling, and let it sit for approximately 28 seconds before dunking in the tea bag. It’s a science. xD

Talk about a fantastic pairing, this tea was the perfect compliment for my meal. Happiness! It’s really smooth, and reminds me vaguely of one of my favorite swimming spots—it tastes like the water smells. Earthy, river weed, and the very faintest hint of fish. :D This is actually the first tea I’ve had where that hasn’t deterred me. I’m glad I can steep a couple cups from each teaspoon, too. What a fantastic tea! I already have a great loose leaf Yunnan Pu-erh, so that means I get to postpone picking a favorite until I run out of the one I have.

I’ve been searching for a cocoa cinnamon tea to replace a rooibos variety that Tea of Life no longer makes (at least that I can tell). This one is delicious! The Pu-erh means it tastes more like a tea, but it has the same smooth creamy-ness and hint of cinnamon that makes me so happy. Sweet bliss!

I work in the freezer at a big box store—today I spent about 2 1/2 hours in -15 degrees. Brr! Had frost on my hair, eyelashes, scarf. I love it! I was definitely needing some tea when I got home, though. I hadn’t tried this before, and since I don’t want to be up for the next five hours, I figured now was a good a time as any.

Long story short, yum! I’m a sucker for mintyness, so this is a big thumbs up from me! Smells amazing, and happened to come with a “collectible tin,” aka, tea transporter for bags that aren’t individually wrapped. Happiness! A hot cup of tea on lunch can help bring feeling back to my legs. :D

My first adventure with hot peach tea was an herbal that was far too peachy for me, or my peach loving relatives. I picked up this one in hopes some oolong would help balance it, and I prefer a white peach over a yellow one any day.

The steep time for this in the instructions was a lot longer than I expected—up to 8 minutes. That makes me happy because that’s usually how long it takes me to drink the cup. ^^

The peach in this is pretty strong (a bit of citrus shows up the longer you steep this), but like I hoped, the oolong tames it down. Now, that doesn’t mean I can out-rightly identify where the oolong is hiding, but I have faith I like this tea because of it’s influence somewhere in this flavor profile. For those expecting an oolong-tasting tea, this is not the tea for you. However, if you’re after a peach flavor that doesn’t make your ears tingle, I give a thumbs up.

I like to occasionally take a bagged tea to work for my lunch break, and that’s where this one made its debut. It’s definitely got a berry flavor, but not completely overpowering. (It smells stronger than it tastes, thankfully.) The raspberry has a tart finish, which I liked because it, too, wasn’t overpowering. And caffeine, caffeine is always great.

Updated review 2018, 60: Now that I’ve tried more teas in the world, especially loose leaf, this tea is not great. Oh, it brings back so many great memories! But… I had to add almondmilk to it. It was too bitter to enjoy. I had attributed that to steeping too long (see below), but now it was too bitter for me after one sip. I’ll keep it around for the nostalgia. :)

Original review 2014, 80: This is a great, basic, spiced tea. It’s a staple in my tea cupboard, and will be unless I miraculously find an orange spice tea (with caffeine) that trumps it. My only caution is that it can turn bitter if you steep it for too long. I usually don’t take the tea bag out of my mug, so I suck this one down to avoid any astringency.

This is one of my favorite “dessert” teas—I definitely have to be in the mood for something smooth and very rich. I have the wee bags of this. I would not guess by the taste that it’s a black tea blend, but rather rooibos. Maybe that’s just me. :)

Anyway, the almond vanilla taste is great, but perhaps on the chemically side, which is why I didn’t give this a 100 of pure delight.

I love the smell of this tea, but I think that’s where the love stops. It’s pretty sour—to the point where I don’t think it’d be salvageable with an unlimited amount of sweetener. I’m definitely going to put this on my list of iced-only teas. The vanilla is lost, and that makes me sad.
