759 Tasting Notes
So after cycling to work today I needed a good rooibos blend so I picked this out of my work stash as it’s been a little while since I’ve logged it. Such a nice raspberry cream flavour. Turns out I’ve done approx. 21km (13 miles) today. Not bad but I might be pretty tired tomorrow :D
Flavors: Cream, Raspberry
Preparation
A very nice vanilla lemony tea. Tastes exactly like a lemon cake. It’s also my last tea of the night/morning as I shall be getting off my midnight shift soon. Thank goodness I have so many teas to keep me company. :D
Flavors: Cake, Lemon
Preparation
Normally I do this for about a 1 minute steep. I also normally don’t experiment with tea steeps unless I have milk or something on hand to fix an overstep bitterness. Today I just decided to put being prepared aside and steeped this for close to 3 minutes. It reminds me of some oolongs I have tried but I can’t place the flavour exactly. Maybe next time if I steep it a bit longer I can make it out.
Preparation
If you want really sweet cotton candy then this is the tea for you. There really isn’t much you can say about it though because the cotton candy taste hits you in the face and no other notes come out of it.
Flavors: Cotton Candy
Preparation
I need my lemony caffeine. Why there aren’t more lemon guayusas out there I’ll never know. The closest thing I can find is mates. I shall keep looking but so far no replacement is good enough to fill the void this tea will leave once it is finally gone. Lemon creamy good tea.
Flavors: Creamy, Lemon
Preparation
I’m seriously considering taping over the chai portion of the label since every time I see the word chai I keep expecting more out of this. I feel so very disappointed once I taste it and remember that it’s just a cinnamon tea.
Flavors: Cinnamon
Preparation
I get a vanilla maple vibe from this tea. Definitely a good thing since you can never have enough of vanilla or maple. I can’t taste the rooibos at all right now but that’s okay. I want a maple vanilla tea now… sigh.
Flavors: Maple, Vanilla
Preparation
I upped the rating on this because a 5 minute steep brings out the vanilla more. I can still taste the bergamot and I can definitely taste the orange pekoe base. So it comes a bit more balanced than the last time I tried it. So a decent cup to buy especially since you can pick it up almost anywhere.
Flavors: Bergamot, Vanilla
Way to be cycling to work! And what a distance you covered today too. Hope the DOMS doesn’t completely destroy you haha.
DOMS?
Never mind looked it up. It shouldn’t be an issue. I cycle lots when the weather permits. Any less than 30km and I barely notice. I usually walk 6km home if I’m not biking (except at night then I take a taxi for safety).
It’s great that you have incorporated so much acidity into your lifestyle. How long have you been cycling for? I’d get into it but try to walk everywhere, then bus if necessary.
Well when you don’t have a car it’s pretty much walk or bike. I don’t live far from my current work site so it’s pretty easy. I’ve cycled since I was a kid. I was running before that because I refused to learn to cycle. I was the only kid that could keep up with 5 speed mountain bike. I don’t run anymore but I should start again.
Very impressive, Helena.
I like how activity got autocorrected to acidity. Wow, I don’t know if I could ever be a good runner. I used to cycle a lot as a kid. Loved it, but since moving to a city, and then moving around a lot, I never got around to buying a bicycle, and the roads aren’t as cyclist-friendly here either.
