254 Tasting Notes
I enjoyed a cup of this over the weekend, while Jake and I were finishing up the Battle of the Earl Greys. Each time I make up a cup of this I am impressed again with how the very light touch of vanilla adds just the right amount of creaminess to this tea. A lot of the “creamy” Earl Greys I’ve tried during this project are more cream flavor than tea, but this one rises above all that into a level all its own.
The final bout of the Battle of the Earl Greys will be posted on Thursday, but in the meantime, you can read the last face/off which led up to it!

I think I got just a touch of food poisoning the other night, but we were all out of candied ginger so I asked my husband to make me up a cup of this. That was not the best plan. I didn’t stop to think about all the other ingredients, and it was a lot sweeter and more desserty than my troubled tummy could handle. But, on a happier note, he enjoyed it!
This tea just continues to impress! It’s gorgeously blended, and makes a wonderful and brisk cup to start the day with.

Jake and I actually made our way through three face/offs today, so watch out for the scheduled posts coming out on Tuesday and Thursday morning. We’ll do the last three next weekend, so soon the overall winner will be posted.
In the meantime, this tea was the winner in its bracket today, and continues to impress! You can read the recap here:

Well, this is a tasty way to start the morning! Shadowfall gave me an opportunity to try this in our swap, and with each sip I cannot help but make comparisons with English Breakfasts that I know and love. It’s not quite the same thing, but has such a wonderfully malty, brisk presence that my mind can’t help but go there. Maybe I should make some zucchini bread to go with this!
Preparation
It’s getting more and more difficult to decide between the different teas in the Battle of the Earl Greys, but now we only have six face/offs left!
This was a very close one, but in the end, there can be only one ;)

We finally made it – this is the last face/off of the first elimination round of the Battle of the Earl Greys. The second round will start on Wednesday!
Jake made some lovely scones this morning, and we got to enjoy them as we sat down and sipped some of this tea. It has some surprising floral notes, but noticeably less briskness than its competitor. A very enjoyable way to start the day!

Preparation
Ohhhhh, this is just so tasty! I keep forgetting that today is what Eeyore may have called a “very blustery day” but each sip of this tastes like summer. This tea came in a swap from Shadowfall and I’m so glad I got a chance to try it!
I followed her instructions and added some sugar, which totally kicked it up a notch. This really tastes like fresh watermelon. I’m not getting any of the white tea right now, but it’s not bothering me in the least!
I’m going to go cozy up to the rest of the cup now – I wrote two classroom grant requests yesterday and today, and I’m feeling a little out of words! But, if you could, cross your fingers for me, please! ;)
Preparation
It was nice to wake up with this today! Taking a kettle to school has made everything taste so much better. You can only do so much with the microwave!
I’ve been keeping the tin of this tea at work, but I had to bring it home over the weekend for it to take its place in the Battle of the Earl Greys. Our next couple bouts should happen Saturday and Sunday, and my goal is to begin the second round!
