This smells so much like a Japanese green! I love it! It tastes like it too. Yum. Seaweedy and delicious. It’s buttery and smooth. I think this is from the new season, too. The leaves looked really green and were very fragrant.

I don’t know what it is with certain white teas, but they seem to vary in flavor and freshness with me. Well, this white tea is good. It’s very light when it’s brewed up, and I kept getting faint hints of sweetness on the aftertaste.

Mmmm. I love Japanese green tea…This sencha is very nice, although I’m having trouble tasting things lately, and I’m not sure why. It smelled lovely enough in my infuser and cup. It is rather expensive though.

I loooove genmaicha! This one seems pretty standard; not really wowing, but not bad, either. It’s a good tea for a hummus sandwich.

I was thinking this would be a really good iced tea, and I’m glad I was proved right! For a black tea, this made a really light infusion. Excuse me for my naivete; I don’t often drink black teas. This was really awesome though! It was so fruity and the distribution of the fruit tends to be in the palatal region of the mouth, rather than somewhere further back in the velar region, like the Happy Tea.

When you open the package to Den’s green tea and you smell the seaweed scent, you know that that’s what a Japanese green should smell like. I’m so happy my order came today; I’ve been dying to have more of this tea. I tried to brew this in my yixing, but realized that was stupid after all the little bits of tea got caught in the holes of the pot and clogged it up. So, I switched to my ceramic pot.

Anyway, the tea is tasty and delicious. It is a bit astringent, so sip with a little caution until you figure out how it works. Very tasty and seaweed-y though. Just what I love in a Japanese green.

Finally had a chance to cold brew this tea. And boy, is it delicious. The fruit flavor is toned down when it’s cold brewed, though. I’m not sure if I like that or not, but it makes the tea lighter. It was really nice with some sugar.

Ehh. It’s an okay green/white mix. Good for when you’re in the mood for a nameless green tea. I haven’t been drinking very much tea lately; the Den’s tea samplers have destroyed my ability to enjoy anything else. Good thing I ordered some tea from them earlier.

I think I may have scorched this in my new yixing pot earlier. It just came out very bitter. Brewing it this time though, I could easily compare it to the sencha fuka-midori. It’s not quite as seaweedy as the fuka-midori, so it’s just buttery and very smooth. I was looking through Den’s site, and it’s all very expensive, so I doubt that I’ll try this again any time soon, but it was awesome to try.

Oh my god. I opened the package and a grassy and seaweedy smell assaulted me immediately. This is one of the better senchas I’ve had. It’s green, grassy and full-bodied. This is the sencha I have been searching for. I can only imagine what the “premium” senchas would taste like. This is seaweedy, Japanese green tea heaven for me. The tea is buttery, seaweedy and delicious. Do yourself a favor and take a sip of this.
