I haven’t tried many white teas, but I very much enjoyed this one. It has a very floral aroma with a sweetness and thickness which both give it qualities of a black tea to me. The taste lingers for a while after you sip it. Definitely packs a punch and reveals nuances in the taste as you brew it — gongfu style in this case.

It’s got the mellow caramel sweetness that I look for in a Pu’er with no wet-piling dank flavour to it. The liquor is very thick and robust. The individual flapjacks are perfectly sized with gorgeous packaing to boot!

Has a dank wet-leaf smell, a bit of astringency and could benefit from airing out and/or aging for 6 months to a few years. When purchased in 2017, it isn’t one I’d buy again unless it was left to age and air out longer.

It has an average thickness, a mellow caramel flavour with little to no astringency and no dank soil taste whatsoever. It doesn’t last for very many brews and thins out slightly on the quicker side, though this isn’t an issue for me since I have only a few cups in the morning. It’s a very good daily drinker and value for money.

drank Toasted Walnut by DAVIDsTEA

I found that the toasted walnut flavour and almond overpowered the sencha, and it tasted a tad too artificial for my liking (personal preference). The fruit in it didn’t mix very well with the walnut and left a tart aftertaste. If someone gave me a cup and told me that it is made from nuts and a small amount of pineapple, with no green tea, I would believe them.

At first, I was unsure of the quality due to the low price tag. Yet after having my first cup, I found it very enjoyable and this tea got me hooked on pu’er teas. After reusing the leaves for a second cup, its flavour only gets more smooth without tasting watered down. I do not have very large experience with tasting pu’er teas, yet I thoroughly enjoyed this one and now I drink it every morning. I do not know how aged it is, but judging by the affordable price tag (~$10), I’d say probably not very long. My verdict is that this is a very tasty and affordable tea for someone new to pu’er teas.

I was very disappointed by this tea as the pu’er had an unpleasant rotting taste and tons of stems. I found that it would serve better as a flower pot with its pretty metal container.
