297 Tasting Notes
I made this iced, to me an Orange Creamsicle can only be iced.
The dry notes smell just like an orange creamsicle, so potent & sweet. Once steeped it still smells like this, the rooibos starts to come out though. I think by now we know I don’t like rooibos teas, but I had to try this.
There is only the slightest hint of orange creamsicle in it, thankfully though the rooibos isn’t strong & I will be able to finish the pitcher of it.
I got this in a sampler pack from iheartteas in early June and I am only now tasting it. The dry notes smell like banana bread. my nanny makes THE best banana bread.
once steeped I get a touch of artificial banana smell. it’s smelling more like banana bread now.
First sip and all I get is strong black base eek. Let’s see if this changes as it cools… I’m getting some artificial banana taste and that’s it.
Preparation
I received this in a swap from Darby. White chocolate is my fav type of chocolate, so creamy so sweet, delicious.
This is definitely one spicy smelling chai, that is however the only smell I am getting. I love the white chips in it. I had to add a few more because I just knew that the few small chips wouldn’t make enough of a white chocolate difference, so I did.
Upon pouring it has a very creamy like colour ohh should be yummy.
Wow this has to be the spiciest chai I have tasted, one of the spices comes out at the front I just can’t quite place it, maybe nutmeg. It’s also creamy I think from my added white chips, although I am getting no white chocolate flavour. Perhaps a little honey would bring it out. As this tea sits and cools slightly it looses the creaminess and becomes bitter. Unfortunetly I can’t chug a hot cup of tea.
Preparation
I received this in a swamp from tigress_al & finally got around to trying it this morning.
The dry notes smell lightly of strawberry. It steeps to a nice red/orange colour. And tastes yummy, like a very ripe strawberry, with a touch of white tea base. I love strawberry & love this tea. I had it iced of course.
I received this from Azzrian as a thank you from our iced tea swap. Too kind.
The dry notes smells lightly and sweetly of strawberry and keeps this as it steeps.
It tastes creamy and slightly sweet I’m guessing from the strawberries although I can’t really taste them. oh wait… it has cooled and I’m getting a tart taste hmmm maybe bitter (I of course forgot about it steeping because I was too busy digging through my new tea package).
I am enjoying this tea even without the strawberry flavour.
Two cups of black tea this morning I think I am going to be one wired girl this afternoon.
Preparation
this is another tea I got from softrevolution.
If everything continues like it smells it’s going to be fantastic. This has to be the yummiest smelling mint chocolate tea I have smelt. The peppermint is fantastic and the chocolate smells like real chocolate, not artificial like many others.
Upon being steeped it looses most of the chocolate smell… oh no :( it tastes nicely pepperminty however the chocolate barely comes threw at the end. as it cools a bit more the chocolate comes through a little more. However I didn’t want my tea to cool today it’s a chilly morning.
Overall I wish there was some more chocolate flavour to it. but still very enjoyable.
oops I forgot about my strawberry zabaglione that is steeping
Preparation
I’m not certain as I haven’t ordered any but I think it’s two tea bags that each make an 8 quart jug.
Wiicked they are to make for easy steeping. They are regular 52Teas quality though, loose leaf, not your typical bagged tea.
I received this sample from softrevolution. I was expecting a delicious nutty tea. upon smelling this tea I realized it smells exactly like apple crisp. once steeped it keeps this scent. if it tastes anything like it smells I can’t wait to try it. first sip and woah… this tastes exactly like my mom’s apple crisp it is too delicious for words. the only thing it’s missing is the occasional crunch of oatmeal. otherwise I swear I am eating apple crisp.
I am pleasantly surprised with the unexpected flavour and this will definitely be added to my permanent collection, especially for the fall!
thank you so much softrevolution!!!
Preparation
Love the smell of the dry notes. Perfectly spicey with a hint of citrus.
Once steeped it keeps the smell, however the scent doesn’t quite carry through to the taste. It’s not as spicy as I would like.
About half my cup cooled to slightly more than room temperature & there was my spice. WOW. So good. Perfect amount of spices with a black tea taste lingering & a hint of citrus. This may just be one of my new fav spiced teas!
Preparation
So the smell of the dry notes is… well… offputting. It smells like honey, but artificial honey. I am definetly not gettting caramel from it.
Once steeped it smells the same. I added extra salt to it, as there didn’t appear to be any/very little in the leaves I steeped. So I can’t give this an accurate numeral rating right now.
I didn’t get even the slightest hint of caramel. Maybe my extra salt was over powering it, but it definetly wasn’t there.
If nothing else this tea looks like swamp water.
I didn’t think I would enjoy this one, since it’s base is rooibos (not a fan over here).
I found it to have a slightly sweet strawberry flavour (like a strawberry candy-artificial). Wish it had more of that flavour. I found it lacked big time in the flavour department. I could only slightly taste the rooibos, which is great for me. I usually can’t get past the rooibos flavour.
Over all I was disappointed in the lack of flavour.
I tried this for the first time the other day and felt pretty much the same way. It’s just fairly bland and artificial tasting. I wonder if it might be tasty iced with a bit of fruit juice added in to make it more like a punch?
I had it iced. I’m not sure what would help it out. I always add more leaves than required because I like a strong tea, but it didn’t help this time.
I had it hot as well, and although I liked whatever fruit flavour I was smelling/tasting, I didn’t find it terribly appealing. Better than iced IMO, though!
