650 Tasting Notes
Can’t find a steeping time for this tea so I am just going with my “tea gut” and trying about 2 minutes. At 1 mins it was still a bit too watery tasting. 2 minutes seems to be about right. I was thinking of leaving it in till 3 minutes but didn’t want to end up with bitter tea.
This is quite a unique tea. The coconut flavoring is almost perfectly balanced with the Chinese green tea. It’s good but something is bothering me about the flavor. It’s good but at the same time there is some after flavor that I am finding odd. As I sit here thinking about it I’m pretty sure it’s just the coconut. Believe it or not coconuts can have slightly different flavor depending on when you eat them. This kinda reminds me of the young coconuts we have opened in Hawai’i. Which by the way makes me more impressed with this company. I always prefer real flavoring and real pieces of ingredients to artificial flavoring.
Preparation
I honestly have never had pineapple upside down cake before so I don’t know how to compare this tea with the actual thing, but I’m enjoying this cup.
The dry smell is good but not something I would want to sniff all day. Then again who wants to sniff the same thing over and over again all day? The steeped smell is about the same and it tastes about the same as it smells. Though I think the smell is a little stronger then the tea. Next time I’m going to steep it just a bit longer.
Preparation
Before I start my day I figured I’d make a cup of this which I got in a trade with Shadowfall. The hazelnut and vanilla are very light but still present. Kinda like they are playing peek-a-boo with your taste buds. I think I would enjoy it a bit more if the vanilla flavor had more presence.
Preparation
I just can’t seem to get it right with this tea. It’s probably the hibiscus. So overpowering that even the strawberries are having trouble with it. It still tastes good but just not as good as I had hoped it would. I’m going to experiment with different steep times and then update this.
Preparation
The best time to buy tea at Teavana is when it’s on sale! It’s the only time I try out new ones. Like this one! Which I am quite happy with.
Many teas/“teas” with hibiscus are overpowered by it. But I feel they did a nice job with blending all the ingredients and keep it more on the mellow side. Good hot or cold but I think I am liking it slightly warm the best at the moment. (It’s in the single digits right now _…)
Preparation
A very interesting tea indeed. This one was a request from my husband. I’m not honestly sure that I would have picked it up but I’m finding myself liking it more then I thought.
Although I have to be honest I think the best part of this tea is the dry smell. When you open the tin the smell over powers everything else, but in a good way. A good Christmas tea. The smell when steeped is quite a bit more toned down but still lovely. If I hadn’t read the other tasting notes I wouldn’t have guessed there was hibiscus. I don’t think it’s that over powering of a flavor but it’s definitely there. I’ve added a bit of honey and oddly enough I don’t feel like it’s changed the flavor at all!
For those of you who are wondering what my husband thinks: he enjoys it. Says its quite good.
Preparation
This is the type of tea that you can drink at anytime of the day during just about anything. It has good flavors but they are mild. It would be nice if it actually did something for your skin but I drink too many other teas for this to be the case (as I am sure is the case with all of you who are on this site).
It’s good hot and lukewarm but I don’t like it much cold.
