2145 Tasting Notes
I had this with my lunch today at Crema Cafe since I was craving an herbal blend (I’ve had a bad day so I needed something really relaxing). The name discribes the tea perfectly, it is a sweet mint tea and I think it is perfect just the way it is. If you don’t enjoy licorice then this is one you may want to avoid, the licorice is very strong in this blend followed up by the peppermint. I also don’t suggest adding sweetener since this is so sweet on its own.
I managed to steep this three times, although the third was noticeably weaker, but still pretty tasty.
Preparation
The ingredient list of this tea intrigued me so I decided to make this the first tea I tried from the mystery tea box Katiek sent me while I was out of town.
I have to agree that this tastes like black tea plus lemons and that really is a surprising flavor to get out of this tea since lemons are not on the ingredient list. It was pretty disappointing hot so I decided to do a huge pitcher cold steeped and see if any of the other flavors came out. Even after 8 hours they didn’t, but I did notice that the lemon flavor wasn’t as overwhelming (a plus for me since I don’t like lemons). Either way it isn’t a terrible tea, just little disappointing. I’ve been drinking a lot of it the last few days in an effort to sip down my samples and I definitely prefer the cold steep.
