drank Lemon Balm Mixture by Meßmer

Surprise, another Mesmer tea. This one is Lemon Balm, although I had No idea it was lemon balm at that time. So it has that non descript tea taste. With a hint of mint. Forgettable. But i think it is calming so there is that. Prolly not one i would buy again unless I needed lemon balm in my life

drank Fruit mixture by Meßmer

The mesmer teas never end!! Anyway… I was really intrigued by thing one. I was prepared for a fruit mixutre to know my socks off. All you get is hibiscus and the bitter berry that is hagebutten. Im too lazy to look it up. No particular sweet or fruit that stands out. And gets more bitter as it sits and cools. Not a fan.

This was part of my large order from Harney. I’ve come to find I really like flavored teas. Mostly black tea but I like to switch it up for variety too. This tea is pretty nice. It smells like the berry go ghurts I used to have as a kid. It smellls super good. I’ll just open the tin sometimes to catch a whiff. So far I’ve found if I like the way a tea smells, I’ll like the way it tastes. And that is definitely true. I don’t think it tastes like blueberry, but faintly reminds me of it. Kinda. It’s best cooled down but not necessarily cold. I like to brew it up and let it mellow about an hour before I drink. Not once have I even been tempted to add sugar which is great. It has lemongrass which I was worried about but honestly I can’t taste it. It also has vanilla and cornflowers for visual interest I guess. The “green” tea is nice, mellow and not astringent. And lots and lots of actual tea. Some companies will make flavored tea with barely any tea. Not the case here

Still slowly drinking through all the Mesmer teas…so I picked this one up. I can’t read German so I usually just grab and translate later. This one is highly forgettable but has hibiscus, lemongrass, peppermint and a few other things but just tastes like a slightly bitter hibiscus tea. Meh.

drank Nettle mango by Meßmer

I stopped drinking as much tea when it got hit so this one took me quite a while to finish. I’m not sure if I’ve had a mango tea before.. maybe from Lipton? Anyway, this doesn’t have any Mango flavor and I dunno what nettle tastes like. This kinda has a caramel taste to it. Strange. Interesting. But overall forgettable.

drank Black Currant by Harney & Sons

My two obsessions are bath and body products and …tea. Of Course! I don’t think I’ve had anything black currant flavored but I love trying Lush Bath and Body products and they have a Comforter bath bomb/bubble bar that smells heavenly. So that’s what I think about when I think of Black Currant. I was just throwing things in my cart, and this went in. I was very curious to try it. And….it tasted familiar. Like this berry Lipton tea. But….it’s not my thing. It’s not bad. But it’s not great either. I saw a few black currants in the tea. So I know they are there. I think it tastes more like flavoring than anything. The black tea is nice. It’s more broken up then I expected. No full leaves here…that’s ok though. It’s a flavored tea. I do like the black tea they use, it’s nice and strong but not overpowering. Overall, probably not something I would buy again. But as always..I was happy to try it. All 4 oz of it- I brewed my last cup today!

Preparation
Boiling 5 min, 15 sec

drank Pure Herbs by Meßmer
113 tasting notes

At this point I’m drinking my way through the Mesmer shelf. I had no idea what this was when I picked it up..because I can’t read German. But anyway..I just translated (now that I finished the box) and it’s just pure herbs. It doesn’t have any distinctive taste- maybe slight peppermint, a little hint of chamomile but not as strong as a mint chamomile tea because of the stuff in the background.

It has:Peppermint, lemongrass, rooibos, fennel, chamomile, blackberry leaves, lemon balm, orange leaves, lemon verbena leaves.

It has a lot of interesting things but it’s ultimately forgettable. I think all those herbs are good for you though.

Definitely not a tea I would normally buy but I’m slowly drinking my way through all of the Mesmer teas and learning the German words for a few things along the way. Yay me!! Fennel tea is a fave here, you can get Fennel tea anywhere. It’s great to use for an upset stomach and it wasn’t horrible when I first started drinking, but I quickly because tired of it. But I’m finally drinking my last cup. It tastes like licorice and fennel. Not
My favorite but if you add a ton of water it’s drinkable and because of the seriousness of the herbs I’m sure it has a multitude of benefits- helps with stomach issues for sure, probably good for blood pressure and appetite control. A serious tea that I would only recommend if you like this sort of thing

drank Spanish orange by Meßmer

Not too long ago I tried the version by Teekane. I probably spelled that wrong. This one is slightly better. Not as chalky tasting but that undertone is still present. Due to that, not my favorite. I love the concept of an orange tea tho, so I’ll never stop trying them out
