Ricky, did you order from the website www.herbalinfusions.ca? How are the shipping costs to USA?
Dan – if I am on the correct website (stated above), your links on the homepage …start shopping for … are peppered with broken links!
Haven’t ordered from them yet. Dan offers free samplers with free shipping. There was a post on the discussions board, but I can’t find it.
Oh – I do remember seeing that a while ago – I will search – you go back to your teas! Thanks, Ricky.
Oh no! Hopefully it didn’t get lost in the mail / the customs officers didn’t mistaken them for drug packets. They came in a standard white envelope 2″×2″ samplers.
Mine either. Lauren, it was in the long “Free” thread, a page or two back from the end of it, I think.

“It’s light, but that may have been due to my water / tea leaves ratio”… could very well be, I would have personally used approx 4oz. I love samples and am VERY greatful for free ones, but it frustrates me when they are so small that they don’t even make a full cuppa. On one hand that would be less tea for me to waste should I hate it, but on the other it makes me do math!
Yeah, I couldn’t gestimate 4oz of water since I had an infusing basket in my cup and I figured the tea leaves would absorb some of the water. I think I might just make it with my ingenuiTea next time. I marked off 4oz on it. I’m glad the samplers are tiny. I mean I would have preferred it closer to a cup, but I can sample several of them in one sitting now. I wish more companies would sell tiny samplers like this. Like four samplers for $1 or something like that.
Liking that idea, Ricky! That is the one way to really try a diverse amount of tea from the company and find the one that strikes your fancy – but at a minimal cost/cupboard space/waste – as long as the correct steeping parameters are also included for those not inclined to do math or are new to this whole loose tea business. Mount a campaign – I’ll sign a petition!
Hmm. My samples haven’t arrived yet and I’m told they were mailed week before last. I should probably give up on them…
Haha, technically couldn’t we all just purchase all the teas (the smallest or second smallest size) from a company and split little samplers among ourselves? Take The Simple Leaf. It’s like $85 to get all their tea 1oz samplers. If we do a .1oz per serving… that’s like $8.50 per person to try all their teas. o.O Something like that. It’d still be easier if companies did this for us. Petition!!! Tea Party Strike!!!
Sometimes the mail has hiccups especially when it comes to international stuff. I received a package from china once two-three months after I placed the order.

LOL! You haz a funny. :) I’m glad you liked my profile. :p I don’t know how the third person stuff got started but the fine print bit struck me when I was adding the bit about arrogance and know-it-alls in a fit of irritation. :p
Fairly recently, yes. I didn’t really appreciate being lectured at like I had never seen a teapot before.
Hahaha Angrboda I just saw your profile :) Um, I’m not which incident you’re talking about, but might I suggest you report it to Jason? I’m kinda on a crusade here…I’ve seen three people get"lectured at" in the last week or two, so I’m trying to sort of mobilize out efforts, if you will, and keep Steepster a fun place to be.

I coulda swore this said Tabacco Ruby Orange… too much chocolate pot tea (i.e. Dawn) I guess… I think chocolate pot tea would be MUCH better than chocolate nail polish.
Woah cold sour and tarty!!! Haha sounds amazing ;)
This sour platypus is going to find it’s way into your cupboard. Beach bunny too. Partayyyyy!!!!
LOL at all of you! I’m still waiting for that partayy to happen in Jacqueline’s cupboard where beach bimbo oops I mean BEACH BUNNY and Ruby Orange along with Tupelo Honey meet Thomas and friends. LOL
Jacqueline is actually writing a book. She’s documenting the craziness going on in her cupboard. Did ya heard about the jail and sherrif? Soon there will be vampires. Can’t have a town without some of those.
She better have some silver suits and disco balls on the jacket cover of the book or I don’t know if I’ll buy it. LOL
I’ve realized my powers of creativity and brilliance transcend the novel and I’v actually begun collaborating with Tim Burton – I think my vision would be best realized in a 3D film with animated, personified tea tins and who better to bring Thomas, Marco Polo, Florence etc to life?! I am also going to get famous actors to do the voices of the teas! I’m sure they all will do it when I pay them the funds from my kickstarter account! Right now I am trying to cast Thomas – do you think the man who plays Spartacus on that cable TV show will be good?

Whoa… back the tea cup up… A: How does this remind you of a tea w/ chocolate in it? B: it is NOT icky… it does not taste or smell like nail polish, you must be sniffing it then drinking tea (lol don’t worry everybody, he knows I’m joking), and hot champagne… eh… could totally see it cold made w/ soda water though.
Haha, I was / am still laughing as I was reading / typing up a response to your comment, because I did know you were joking =P
Hey, hey. The first time I had this tea was a month ago. No clue how it reminded me of the nail polish chocolate, it just did. Maybe I mixed the both of them together ;) or someone spiked my Mojito. Darn people, messing with my tea!
I don’t think I’ve ever finished a cup of plain matcha. Haha, milk always finds its way into the cup. Nope, never had plain chai either =P
I would how a yixing cup with chai, sugar and milk would work ;)
How would I clean it? I don’t think water gets the sugar out =/
Guess I’m out of luck =(

There’s definitely a resemblance, but I thought the balance of flavors was pretty different. Blood Orange ws much, much more orangy to me. Not that I’ve had that many, but of the four or so I’ve had, it seems that any time a pu erhs is flavored the pu erh taste is weaker.
Blood orange’s citrus notes definitely showed up more in the Blood Orange Pu-erh. As for the ginger, a longer steep brings out the ginger taste. I think depending on how you steeped it, both cups could have been identical. Now I don’t have a side by side comparison, but it was just remarkably similar from memory.
You ordered both!?!? Haha, would definitely be interesting, but uhhhh, that’s a lot of pu-erh to drink in a day ;)
Yeah, well, I’d have to start early and maybe only go through 4 or so steeps each. I don’t know what your experience has been with the Samovar pu erhs but I expected more steeps without significant flavor changes. I’ve read about pu erhs going for 20 or more steeps without a change in flavor. I only get about 5 out of each one and the fifth is already starting to get weak.

I felt the same way about Adagio’s golden curls. But I just excused it as I don’t care for non chai blacks.
Add Harney’s Golden Tip Assam to the list. It’s good, but just not my cup of tea. I’m sure those who enjoyed this would love it.

Wow, I had to go look at the ingredients list in this one as I’ve never gotten a rooibos taste, nor was I looking for a rooibos taste, as I thought it was just green tea. Then again, I’ve never had green rooibos, just the red super noticeable kind.
