67 Tasting Notes
Off the bat, I am not fond of white or green teas, so my impression of this one isn’t very good.
That said, it doesn’t taste like grass clippings, which most greens do for me. The leaves are also fuzzy enough that I keep feeling like I want to pet them. :)
I’m sure this will be the perfect cup for others, but it isn’t for me.
I honestly can’t drink this without comparing it to PTA (Premium Taiwanese Assam), which has swiftly become the tea I would happily drink forever.
Its got a lot of good qualities, rich flavor, not astringent, not bitter. I almost get the impression something maybe fruity and mild. Nice and easy to drink, I can easily see having this on an

early summer morning when everything is still and quiet and I can just sit there and listen to nothing but the birds chirping.
So back to the comparison. Its not as sweet as PTA, though there is still no bitterness and no astringency at all, even after multiple steeps. The fragrance is milder as well. While I have not tried doing so (yet), I suspect this might make an excellent light iced tea. Maybe toss in a slice of orange or a few pieces of sliced strawberry to help bring out that almost fruity impression I get.
It looks like I might be building a liking for Taiwanese blacks.
Preparation
I will start this off by saying I am not a huge fan of Earl Gray teas. I’m just not wild about bergamot. But, I saw this while poking around for some herbals and decided to try it.
And I’m glad I did. Its a nice balance of smell and flavor. The bergamot doesn’t dominate and blends in with the rest of the flavors well.
Flavors: Bergamot, Citrus, Whiskey
Preparation
Wow, its been a while since I last reviewed this one.
Due to some issues, I’m going caffeine free for a few weeks and so pulling out some herbals that I have ignored for years.
I still have some left of my initial order, and even though its something like 4 years old, it still has a pleasant flavor of florals and citrus.
One update of an earlier comment. I don’t enjoyed this one iced. The florals stand out stronger and the citrus disappears, which unbalances the entire thing.
I sometimes think the universe keeps plotting against me.
For 2 days now I have been drinking this tea so I can review it. And for two days life’s insanity has meant I’ve noticed little other than its hot or its cold.
Honestly, I think its ok. Nothing bad with it but at the same time, nothing exceptional either, at least to my tastes.
When its hot, there’s a flavor element there that I can’t really identify.
However, when its cold (which keeps happening more and more often) there is a mild pleasant sweetness to it. I think this might make an excellent iced tea. but for hot, I’d prefer something else.
Preparation
I need to kick myself. I had decided to take advantage of materialism money greed weekend and stock up on that amazing PTA. And, since the sales were good, I decided to go a head and try a couple of new things. One of the new things was this tea.
Only it wasn’t new. Because I had forgotten to rate it. And so when I checked, I didn’t think I had it. What I get for checking Steepster and not what I actually have. So I have most of an ounce already and another on its way.
So to avoid this kind of error in the future, here’s a review.
At least its a heavily oxidized oolong and its not bad. But when I drink it, I think that I have Golden Snail and PTA in my drawer and I’d rather be drinking one of them.
And to give an example, I arrived at work at 8am this morning and made my first cup.
Its now 4pm and I am not going to finish the cup.
Preparation
I got a sample of this on my last order.
Its a rainy and cold day. Just got into work and decided to give this one a try. As it was steeping, all I could think was someone had brought french toast into the office. Its not a sweet tasting tea, but the flavor reminds me of a rich pastry without the sweetness.
Its difficult for me to explain, but I really like the aroma and taste of this tea. I hope there is still some left when I’m ready for my next order.
Preparation
Got this as a sample with my recent order so thought I would give it a try.
Its described on the package a breakfast blend with hints of dark malt and light citrus. Honestly I don’t notice either. However, I also have a cold. While my sense of taste has seemed ok, I’m sure my sense of smell is borked. I could have sworn when I drank this at one point that I kept tasting eucalyptus.
I’ll give it another go once I feel better and I can trust my senses a little better.
Preparation
Wow, this stuff is rolled tightly. The little balls are so tiny but expand hugely. Start off with just a few small balls in my infuser and after steeping, it comes close to filling half the infuser.
Flavor is good, not bitter or astringent. I still prefer Golden Snail, but this is pretty good as well.
