This was only a good tea. Wanted to try it simply because of a licorice craving. The licorice flavor was subdued by the black tea and needed longer steeping to bring it out. Of course, by then, the tea was too bitter.

Need to experiment with steeping times. At 2:30 minutes the licorice taste was too week. At 3:30 minutes it was stronger, but often black tea starts to get bitter right around then.

Not the best licorice tea out there – doesn’t really satisfy the craving for it. Otherwise, it is an ordinary tea. It seemed to taste better with a good chocolate bar than it did with a cookie. Licorice is too refined a taste to accompany a cookie.

Well I’m impressed. A balance of earthy pu-erh, mixed with chrysanthemum that adds a not-quite-oily heft. Energizing and relaxing. Pretty awesome.

This was yummy. Added milk and sugar. Really comforting and great as dessert. I was unsure before trying (I’m not a huge caramel fan) but i was pleasantly surprised. Very enjoyable.

A very easy to drink white tea with vegetal notes underscored by burnt sugar sweetness. A lovely way to start the day.

Peppermint tea with a bit of a kick in the form of additional fragrant herbs such as tarragon. May be overwhelmed by most kinds of food, so probably best consumed on its own, but works well for late nights when caffeine is out and a little mood boost would be more than welcome.

I’m a huge fan of spearmint so this is a great tea for me. While it doesn’t exactly put me to sleep it’s great when you’re winding down after dinner.

My favorite English Breakfast tea. Full of flavor and the toasty notes make it feel filling, almost as if you’d had it with a pastry.

This oolong is mellow with a little floral touch. The peach flavor is subtle. Overall a really tasty tea.

This tea is a wonderful black tea that is smooth with chocolate notes. I use 3 pearls per pot and that does well.

Wow! This stuff is strong, just like chai should be. I definitely enjoy the spice on this tea and its full body, however, I think next time I’ll add creamer. I also like that it isn’t too drying on the palette.

drank Gyokuro Imperial by Teavana

The Gyokuro Imperial green tea has a very slight sweet taste to it with a grassy kick at the end. It smells like freshly cut grass. It’s a good green tea. Seems to be a very delicate tea. Just a slight variation in the water temperature or time really makes a difference.

Beware of the steep time. Teavana’s sticker said 2 minutes when it’s really 30-45 seconds. They didn’t tell me that when I purchased it. However, I’d go with a steep time of around 1 minute and a temperature closer to 180 degrees.

Both of my boys love to eat pumpkin pie so I figured this would be a family hit. It was a nice holiday treat. I like how the chunks of fruit give a strong pumpkin taste without overpowering the tea flavor like so many pumpkin spice teas tend to do.

I love this white tea. Very light and crisp, but naturally sweet. This tea is relaxing and reminds me of a forest after a late spring frost. I can only appreciate that comparison having grown up around the woods. I love Samovar’s Osmanthus Silver Needle which gives me similar thoughts, but this white tea is lovely beyond words. Something very sweet, subtle, and even nutty about this one.

I tried a sample of this in Harry & David’s last night, so I can’t give a steep time or anything since I didn’t do that part. What I can tell you is that this is one of my favorites that I’ve tried in a long time. It was a nice mild black tea and the cherry and vanilla flavors were delicate notes in the brew. Had this one without cream or sugar (which is odd for me) and I still thought this one was fantastic. I will definitely be purchasing this in the near future!

Wow! This was a lot better than I was expecting. Maybe because of the poor reputation for tea and England in the States, I always thought that “Earl Grey” would be dull and bland. How wrong I was! The sweet citrus smell given off by the tea leads to an equally pleasing taste. Definitely the most tasteful black tea of the Adagio sampler I have been going through. I wish I could tell you how it tasted with a little milk and sugar, I enjoyed it so much plain that I didn’t want to try it! Probably the Black tea I will be recommending to new tea drinkers, not once did I get even a hint of bitterness off it.
