I love this tea, it is one of my all-time favourite green teas.

While it has a classic, mellow green tea base, the goji berries empower it and give it a really fruity, bold flavour. The liquorice gives the blend a really nice aftertaste, and the rose petals smell and look wonderful while it brews. If you brew this tea carefully, you will get what you are promised.

That is one of the things I love about this company. You get what you come for, and none of the flavours are ever lost in the tea. The blends are balanced very well, so you taste every ingredient. I am still new to green tea, I think sometimes it can be quite bitter, and other times very mellow, but I am more than willing to explore new types of green tea.

If you’re just starting out with green tea, like me, try this. It’s a wonderful blend and it has always been proudly displayed in my tea pantry.

Pleine Lune is a beautiful tea, and one I will hold very dear to my heart.

My mother brought it back from Paris for me, as a gift. And I will always remember trying it for the first time. It was very evocative, smelt lovely and rich, and had steady almond black tea base. It’s almost buttery, quite dark in colour and has lovely spiced notes.

My selection is a group of little muslin, cotton teabags and I love each and every one of them. The flavour is bold, and I would recognise it anywhere. The first time I tried it, I had never really had much tea before, and I thought ‘this is what drinking tea is like.’ I was quite young at the time, but it’s stuck with me and it’s for that reason that this is one of my most treasured teas.

This tea is full of almond and evening spices, and the whole taste ties in very well with the name. It tastes a little like a Christmas tea. I would happily drink this tea any time, with or without milk or sugar. It’s a very nostalgic tea, and I will always keep it in my tea pantry.

drank Peppermint by Lipton

When I first tried this tea, I have to say, I concur whole-heartedly with one of the other tasting notes. It’s a stereotypical peppermint tea bag flavour.

It has a nice enough colour, and smells like peppermint, but when it comes to taste, this tea is pretty lack-luster. I am on a quest to find my favourite peppermint tea, and to be honest I probably wouldn’t buy this tea again. Perhaps, because it was only kept in cardboard it easily became stale, but I felt a little lost while drinking this tea.

Sadly, I feel like not a whole lot can improve this tea, and while this might just be a matter of personal taste, I’m hoping this isn’t a typical tea for the Lipton brand.

This is probably my favourite peppermint tea brand.

It has a lovely colour, lovely aroma and a bold, classic flavour. It seems to keep fresh for longer, and not go stale as quickly as some of the other brands.

(And with a grand total of 40 Twining’s Pure Peppermint tea bags I am very grateful for that.) I mention, rather facetiously, that I’m a professional peppermint propagandist in the ‘about me’ section of my profile – and I’ve tried and tested my fair share of peppermint teas. But, this has to be my favourite. Twining’s is certainly the maestro of tea bags, and this proves no different.

Beautiful colour, brilliant taste, warm finish.

drank Camomile & Spearmint by Twinings

I really enjoy this tea. In general, I tend to avoid tea with camomile but I do keep some in my cupboard. I love this tea as an aid to digestion or a late-night tea to help me sleep.

The spearmint has just a hint of pepper, a sharper mint than peppermint and it really transforms this herbal tea. The hit of spearmint balances the gentleness of the camomile really well. I find camomile quite bland but I think it makes a lovely base to this blend. I brewed it for 4 minutes, and noticed the distinct smell of lemongrass while it steeped.

This tea, being naturally caffiene-free and peppery means it’s one of my favourite teas to drink at night.

I’m not a huge fan of chamomile tea in general, I find it’s often too bland and tastes too much like hot water. But, I did like this one. While it will never be my favourite I did find some notes of rose petals and lemon that added more depth to this tea.

I think it’s a really nice gentle tea to have at night when you need something calming to help you relax, but at the same time that gentleness can sometimes be a little flat. I think if I let it brew for a little longer some of the more subtler flavours will come through (like fennel and lemongrass), and I’m looking forward to that when I next drink it.

I tried this tea for the first time today, and my tasting note follows on with the rest – do not sweeten this tea, it is very sweet on its own. While I found it passable, with the vanilla adding a smooth, creamy texture, the artificial flavours were unpleasantly noticeable in this tea.

The body of the tea was fine, the cornflowers added a nice minty acidity to balance out all the flavouring, but I feel this is a poorly constructed tea. With more herbs, spices or flowers this easily be a favourite of mine. However, it will probably not be a regular tea and end up drifting to the back of my cupboard. I liked this tea, it was drinkable, and I might have it again, but I might not.

This tea should be brewed for no longer than three minutes, and now after tasting I see why – the artificial flavours would become too strong and totally overpower the tea. This tea is definitely not for everyone, I’m not saying don’t try it, I’ve certainly had worse, but I’ve certainly had better, too.

drank Cool Mint Chai by T2

I was very intrigued by the description of this tea. A chai with mint, green tea and spearmint? I was curious to see how it would work, how the flavours would balance out and I was glad I did.

I feel this tea certainly suits the description of being modern, bright and fresh. The classic chai flavours like cardamom, ginger and spices were there but they were matched well to the smooth, silky green tea and mint base. I had it on its own and thought it was lovely, it certainly tastes like a chai but it has a wonderful herbal base as well. This tea is certainly interesting and I enjoy drinking it, but I do have to be in the mood.

This is a wonderful blend of white Assam and Indian green tea. It’s very sweet, very refreshing and for me it was one of my first white teas that was memorable.

I found this tea really aromatic and evocative, and the strawberry leaves lift up its flavour and makes it noticeably fruity. I liked this tea because it was so light and not heavy like some teas can be. I also love the rose and liquorice notes in this blend, and I appreciate that this brand is certified and organic.

Ambrosia Plum feels to me like a spring-time, afternoon tea – a perfect addition to a picnic or tea party.

I love this Coconut chai. I tried it the other day and absolutely adored it.

I love the ritual of making chai, adding the honey and the milk. This was warm, spicy, rich and tasted like coconut. This blend smells heavily of ginger and cloves but the texture and taste makes this tea a smooth, bold blend. I could taste vanilla and this added another layer of creaminess to this chai.

This chai is in no way basic and is complex and multi-layered with a full, definite flavour.

EDIT: I tried this tea black with honey today, and the colour is quite murky and off-putting, but perserve, it’s a delicious tea.
