Missouri has snow. In November. Not unheard of, but certainly unusual! About an inch since this morning—the kind that sticks to vegetation but pretty much melts off the street.

With such dire weather predictions coming, we have hustled in our mint plants that are still somewhat viable, as well as a planter of lemongrass that grew surprisingly huge in a very short time. I had already harvested and dried one bundle; snipped it up and tried it steeped for the first time yesterday. Oh, my! Smooth lemony goodness with a lot more body than I had expected from a straight-up tisane.

I have some dried lemongrass (it’s rather old, mind you) from our health food place and the quality improvement with the fresher dried grass is exponential. Glad I rescued what was left so I can harvest and dry more!

Somebody asked me once when I became a tea junkie; I think it dates back to college when I needed caffeine for a 7 a.m. class but chose not to do coffee. My favorite teapot is a medium-sized Brown Betty given to me by my Mema; the painted flowers are chipping off, but the size and feel is perfect. I rejoice when I get a morning to brew a pot of loose tea starting with a kettle; not a bag and a hot pot.
