Bone-chilling wet weather prompted me to go rogue and make a cup of a Christmas gift—Trader Joe’s mint cocoa. Prepped it with water (package calls for either water or milk) and it was thick, bittersweet chocolate with strong mint. Like a less sweet Andes’ mint. Very tasty and a pleasant change.

I wonder if that is heading our way? We have been in the upper 70’s and low 80’s, and tomorrow is supposed to be 79F. But late this afternoon a chilly wind started blowing and the temp dropped fast, and it had rained a little. The worst I see in our forecast is highs in the 50’s this weekend with lows in the 30’s.

Headed northeast, I think, rather than your way. Woke up this morning, finally, to NOTHING coming out of the sky—much, much needed down here. We are OK but tons of flooding damage in the area.

Somebody asked me once when I became a tea junkie; I think it dates back to college when I needed caffeine for a 7 a.m. class but chose not to do coffee. My favorite teapot is a medium-sized Brown Betty given to me by my Mema; the painted flowers are chipping off, but the size and feel is perfect. I rejoice when I get a morning to brew a pot of loose tea starting with a kettle; not a bag and a hot pot.
