Still one of my bagged teas I keep at work for convenience sake. I love it in the afternoon. It’s slightly zing-y, spicy, and relaxing.

It helped me stay sane as the climax of my day was when an old guy walked into our office (a neurology office) and asked if we made keys. Yep! That kind of day! Tea is soothing!

I got a pouch of this to keep at work for mornings so I’m not buying a to-go tea every morning. The tea is growing on me. I like the vanilla smoothness of it now.

This is such a soothing tea for a stressful afternoon at work. It’s a sweet, flowery tea with just the slightest hint of spice. Very delicate flavoring.

Had this to go from the davidstea store. This tea was just ok. It was kind of earthy,very vegetal, pretty smooth, not very astringent, but it just was kind of bland. Not something I would order myself again.

I like this tea more and more every time I have it. It’s buttery, flowery, and all around yummy!

The smell of this tea was SOOOOOOooo much better than the Japanese cherry. It smelled grassy, almost like hay and a little flowery. It reminded me of being in an open field.

The taste starts out grassy just like the smell. It’s got a lightly sweet aftertaste that is intensified if I hold it in my mouth. As I smell more of it and as it begins to cool, the grassy smell becomes more floral and the sweet taste becomes a little more defined as fruity- kind of a warmish apple taste?

Overall a pleasant tea. I look forward to trying another cup of it.

I received my Ocho Sampler from Joy’s Teaspoon today! Yay!

The smell coming off the dry-leaf reminded me a little of cherry cough syrup. I’ve always been pretty tuned-in to artificial flavors and can usually detect them quickly, but I decided to try it though to see if it would taste any better.

The tea liquor definitely tastes like cherry and I found it kind of aggravating that I could differentiate between both the natural, floral-tasting cherry and the artificial flavoring. It kind of drove me nuts because the real flavor was pretty nice, but the fake stuff kind of left this soapy aftertaste that ruined it.

I probably under-leafed this because it was very one note. The base as far as I could tell was a nice, light, green base.
I tried sticking the infuser back in to see if it would help bring out the base a little more, but it got a little to bitter.

I also made up a cup for my mother and she enjoyed it, but then again she has never been as sensitive as me to artificial flavors and drinks things with them all the time.

I got my Verdant sampler yesterday, so I was really eager to try something from it this morning. When I opened the the packet, the dry leaf smelled fantastic: strong and fragrant (I don’t mean floral when I use fragrant).

The first steeping was for 30 seconds. It was smooth, slightly buttery, but dark and richly earthy. No bitterness or astringency. No dry mouth aftertaste.

The second steeping was about a minute. This was smooth, but even darker. I can see why some people compare it to cocoa. It had the feel, but not the taste, of a very, very dark chocolate. It also had these fantastic roasted notes. It tasted slightly less earthy to me, but still as satisfying. I also started to get traces of something spicy, not the hot kind of spicy, but just having some sort of spice to it. I don’t know what to label it though.

I’m on my third steeping now (again about a minute) and it’s very similiar to the second steeping, but a little lighter. The earth tones have come back a little more. I don’t feel the spice as much.

I loved this cup of tea! :-) I’m so glad the sample has enough for one or two more cups.

Out of the 20 samples I received from Della Terra, this is the one tea I keep going back to. It’s a very comforting tea. I may just have to buy a full-sized order of this.
