464 Tasting Notes
Have I mentioned I like to drink this at work? ;-)
I under-leafed this slightly this morning and it tasted a little weak. I guess I’m just realizing how little of it I have left! I have a whole bunch of new stuff coming from Verdant soon, so I’ll just have to hold on until then.
Cold-steeped a pitcher of this. My mother drank half! This was a really yummy berry tea- almost tasted like juice. Sweet and slightly tart. I barely tasted the green tea, but there was a slight dryness that I think came from the green tea. Pleasant for a summer afternoon!
Watching a Warehouse 13 marathon with my Dad today. He asked for tea, so I made him something sweet since he has a sweet tooth. Added some brown sugar to this to make it extra sweet. :-)
seriously! this tea is in the mail to me as we speak and everyone is reviewing it!!!! enjoy your marathon… warehouse 13 is awesome.
This is one of those teas that when I order again, I will have to get a MUCH larger amount. I only got an ounce because it was my first time getting it. If I keep going through it the way I have, I’ll be out by the end of the month!
Oh man! Ths one brewed up into a lovely golden color and I am really enjoying it! Although it is an oolong, it has a lot of black tea qualities to it. It starts out light in the front of the mouth with an almost citric quality. It darkens into a barely creamy, slightly roasty and malty flavor- reminds me slightly of chestnut stuffing. It has a light astringency which works in this tea to make it seem bright even though there are some darker tones to it. It’s very well-balanced between light and dark flavors.
Thanks Shelley_Lorraine dor the opportunity to try this tea.
So after a really bad race time at a 5k this morning, I decided that I was up for a frivolous pretty tea. These flowering teas were given to my Mom in a gift basket recently and since I’ve been wanting to try aa flowering tea for a while, I decided to use one. I could tell they were not high quality the blossom was already falling apart and just looked old. I don’t have a glass teapot, but I have a large glass mug that I thought would work. I decided to use 150 degree water. The flower did indeed bloom, but it wasn’t very pretty. Lots of the leaves and petals were broken. I was a little disappointed, but seeing as how I got them for free, I can be grateful I got the opportunity to try it.
As for the taste: It kind of tasted like asparagus soup. There was some jasmin in the aftertaste, but it was faint and very bitter. I finished the cup, but I won’t be rushing to try the 9 other beads of this I have in the jar.
Thank you, Shelley_Lorraine! This tea is the closest I’ve come to finding a chocolate tea that tastes like chocolatte. I was worried that this would have an artificial, bubble gum taste but it pleasantly natural. The tea not only tastes chocolately, but has a great roasty, black tea taste.
While I enjoy this hot because it tastes like pink lemonade, it failed me as a cold brew. There is barely any citrus flavor at all. I taste a ton of hibiscus (FAR too much for my tastes), lemon grass, and blackberry leaves. I wonder if it would be different if I brewed it hot and then iced it.
