69 Tasting Notes
Still away from home and this is one of the teas I brought with me as I made my transition from drinking only greens and oolongs for months and months to the sudden craving for black teas with half and half. Stellar blend—both base and finely crafted flavourings.
Sipdown!
Although this leaf is ancient in tea life, I have relished this last cup of it with its super lovely base, hint of vanilla, and slight strawberry insinuation. Of course, I need more vanilla and more strawberry, but this is one fine cup of tea, regardless. I very much enjoyed having this, one of Anne’s early blends when she took over, in my stash.
And it’s a sipdown!
Sipdown 39.
In store sample.
I liked the fruit flavours on the front of the sip and then the stevia took over. Blech.
Why do they do that?
I cracked this bag open on the tail end of my sipdown of Coconut French Toast w Cardamon Syrup which is currently impossible to review on Steepster because it opens to a weird page on which reviews are not accepted.
Anyway, the Coconut French Toast was just stellar—why so especially? Because the coconut was coming through loud and clear—on top of the maple syrup—which I don’t think has ever happened. Anyway, a big big win, so much so that I would suggest the same blend with triple the coconut. Just sayin’.
So after I sipped down my sample pouch of that because it was so good that I drank it from beginning to end with milk until it was gone, I started in on this. And even though this is not Coconut French Toast with Cardamon Syrup, this is stellar too. Ayup. On my fourth cup of the day, also with milk, and show no signs of slowing down any time soon. It’s kind of like Chocolate Eclair Black, but with buttery maple instead. Another winner.
After a very long stretch of green and oolong, I seem to be rapidly slipping into black blends again. All good.
When a page is stuck in the mobile cache view, click to Edit the tea page, then just Save it (you don’t have to actually make any edits). That will “refresh” the cache on that tea page and allow you to add it to your Cupboard/Wishlist/Review it once again.
Half and half sounds wonderful in this tea! One of my favorite blends! I totally agree – Stellar!
Teatotaler, I’ve been enjoying half and half in Strawberry Black blends as well. Another excellent combination. Same goes for black chai blends.
For me, this is a temporary indulgence as my refrigerator at home is somewhat temperamental, so between that and dietary restrictions on dairy, I am enjoying these momentary splurges. Somehow because they are so limited and so fleeting, they are even more delightful. This blend has surprised me as I do not necessarily leap on all things maple. That said, 52Teas does maple very very well.
